Yes, they seem to be implying that he excavated out the soft tissue while it was still intact in order to take the head off.

A hand-saw would've taken a very long time. I have a hard time reconciling the peri-mortem dismemberment of our available bones with the tight timeline of Sunday night. Here is a pic of the long bone fragment:

The trial resumed about an hour later than scheduled Tuesday morning, after "the court was informed that the defendant did not want to be transported to court this morning," Judge Joseph Cardoza said.
"As a result, the court issued an order requiring the defendant to be transported to court and he is here now," Cardoza said before jurors entered the courtroom. "The court's also been informed that he's also been checked by medical personnel."
The trial is scheduled to continue Friday.

Praying he will confess.

SC didn't want to be transported to trial yesterday.:boohoo: Cry me a river, . Confess and get it over with or suck it up.

Two places - one closer to the stream. Only a few small parts found. Were the rest collected and boxed or bagged, then taken away and disposed of? Why leave the clothes and blanket behind?

HA! Same thought, same time!

Dr. Taylor says that the nicks and incision marks on the jawbone would indicate to her an attempt to deflesh or remove soft tissue.
I really hope Charli was not conscious when this stuff occurred. :-((

How could a vegetarian who did not hunt do this crap?!
Charli must've really pissed him off horribly when she didn't go through with the abortion as he thought she had. Fiona testified that he was "short of breath" on the phone when she told him. Ugh.
He is a control freak, IMO, so yeah. You can hear it in his interviews, the way he is adamant about things. How it has to be him who comes around to the baby idea, and he can't even admit that ultimately she took it all out of his hands. All that talk about the friends who knew the baby's sex and the naming he said he was part of. He wasn't included and he wasn't deciding squat, and that was unbearable.

It would be about loss of control more than the actual baby and the money and Cass. It's the defiance he cannot tolerate. So much domestic violence is committed by control freaks who must exert their dominance. (It sounds like he had very little power over his fate in childhood). He loves well trained and obedient dogs, but did not care much for Nala who was not well controlled.
Listen to his interviews. He volunteers everything and gives permission stupidly. My guess is that is how he felt he was controlling the situation. He was going to say yes and go overboard cooperating before the cops started pushing him around,
which he could not tolerate.

At some point, most of his crowd turned on him, and the cops ordered him to come in, and he called and said he would not come in. He was always trying to call the shots. He wouldn't run away from "his island." It's a constant theme with him. Charli had an abortion before. He thought he had made it clear ... How dare she ...
I hate him.

Thank you, Puakenikeni, that's an interesting analysis and I agree with you. He does NOT like to be defied, and resents feeling like he's a mere spectator whose fate is at the mercy of others.

I'm a little annoyed right now. The latest videos of the trial are random videos accidentally posted by Akaku (I assume it was an accident). So only two vids from yesterday, both featuring the testimony of Dr. Taylor.

Confession or not is the only card he has left, so I doubt he gives it up easily. He is almost through the worst and then gets to hear defense argue for him and grill the family again.

OTOH, if I had his attorneys, I might cave just to avoid the ordeal of listening to them take the lead. ;-)

I don't think he will ever confess or reveal where the remains are. It's all about power dynamics to him. In his mind, regardless of he's in prison, he is still holding all the cards because he has the info that everyone wants. It makes him feel like he still exercises control.

I go to YouTube and search for "Steven Capobianco trial" and then select the first one from the search results. The first one comes up, but then there is a scrollable list on the right side with ALL of the video transcripts. Scroll all the way down for the most recent. I see 3 for yesterday.

Thank you, Kapua! I'm going to watch Officer James Taylor's testimony right now from yesterday, haven't seen it yet.

Officer James Taylor:

Some red hair found on barbed wire at Hana Ranch...but searched the ranch and found nothing else evidentiary.

Was called about some remains in a plastic trash bag, but went through the whole bag carefully and it was just the detritus of a pig's carcass.

"I searched on my own, from Keanae to Hana to Kaupo - searched all over the beat, trying to find something relevant to this case."

What gives him more control killing himself or just threatening?

Yes. Listening to Officer Taylor's testimony yesterday, you could tell that he cared and that he wanted to do everything he could to find her. This is why having the testimony on video is so helpful. His voice expressed his genuine concern. Charli touched so many, even those who did not know her.

Agree, well said. I have been trying to express just that.

Even if if the remains were found, only he can tell the family the details of her last moments, which they want for the closest thing they can get to closure.
He can hold on to his secrets and bargain with that for early parole. He might.
Personally I kind of expect him to get shanked and die once he gets to real prison.

34:20 min mark. Establishes it was defleshed with a blade.

Moxie, I see 6 videos from yesterday Sept 20th. The last 2 are the random ones. From start of the court day to finish the video lengths are 1:18:36, 27:39, 59:22, 54:09. The videos 36:26 and 42:58 are bunk and not of the trial

He clearly thinks the trial is going against him. Maybe he will change his plea to try and save himself the maxium sentence?

Why doesn't the jury get to hear about his behavior? They need to know he refused to come to court.

Dr. Taylor stated that, just as the fingernails would fall off after several days of decomposition, the hair will similarly fall out easily.

The prevailing winds in Hana are westward, blowing inland from the ocean.

If he had taken her remains to the ocean (or to a prepared deposit location) somewhere south of Hana, a tuft of hair could have come off and blown inland, getting caught on the fence at Hana ranch.

Was DNA tested from the red hair at Hana Ranch and the hairs from Nua'ailua?
Did divers scour the ocean at Nua'ailua, or at any other places?

Great observation and theory, Moxie!

Yes, as I recall, divers were involved in the search. I will try to find the articles that mention the divers.

Edited to add, here's one:
