Why would she go out Hana Hwy with him in October after he robbed her and damaged her tires in September?
 
I don't know, but IIRC, she told police she realized her jewelry items were taken some time later, and possibly reported him as suspect much later, even though she filed burglary charges at the time of incident.

Maybe it was even after Charli went missing. He wasn't arrested until maybe April? The computer that was stolen she said she was taking care of for someone who was away off island. Whether the guy SC was sure she was "cheating" with, do not know. But that would explain why he took it. She told police that he was the only one who knew it was there, IIRC. It's been awhile since I read those articles, so the details aren't all straight.

It's possible but only spec on my part that she felt somewhat responsible for his anger, if in fact she had an understanding with him and she broke the trust. It's not any of my business and I'm certainly not judging her on it, but we know that Steven was judging about it and he may have succeeded in making her feel like she partially "deserved" the display of anger. Or not. But maybe enough to take a ride with him to make him happy on his birthday.

I don't agree with her deserving any such treatment, but I remember what it was like to be young and confused about relationships (not that I'm no longer confused). ;-)
She was best friends with his cousin, was she not?

For the free drugs?

I noticed from Pua's link that the Kaiser brothers were forbidden by the court from contacting SC. What do you make of that?
 
I was going to mention that but I think it's separate from the burglary. I think it's to do with the terroristic threatening SC did with Snapchat, because he's forbidden to contact Phaedra and the Kaisers, and the TT incident was to do with Phaedra (who can now be named as no longer a minor).I'm not sure why it's in the court minutes on that case, but it happened in the general time frame.

Thanks, Puakenikeni, very good post. Yes, I was thinking he either guilted her into going for the drive or she did it for some drugs.

Here is how Steven describes the breakup with TF:

"Taylor did not end exactly well but, again, I wish her no harm. She just was cheating on me so I took all her stuff outside and said 'Well you can go move in with him then.' And that was about a week before I got Charli pregnant."

It sounds as though Taylor was staying with him at some point in the relationship, right before he found out about her possibly cheating.


Aaaand here's another zinger from SC's second police interview:

Q:What were your concerns about having a child?
A: "I'm a single 24 year old male who has a dog and I can barely keep me and my dog... I mean yeah, me and my dog, we eat pretty well. But it's like...I have a dollar in my pocket right now. Until my next paycheck. I don't have any spare cash for a child."

Yet in reality Steven would have very little to do with Joshua other than being the donor. What a winner.
 
Definite candidate for a vasectomy. SC should be sterilized if he chooses not to have children. Otherwise, wrap up your wiener.

I think Steven might be very self-conscious about his voice. In his interview with Mileka Linoln he says "First off, I don't want my voice on the news." Then he says "I do not want the recording used. I don't want my voice coming out on everyone's TV on this island." And when they're just about to play the audio tapes of his interview in court, he starts flexing his fist, like he's really tense and is bracing himself.

He does have an unusual voice, it's a little bit high-pitched and sometimes it's slightly feminine in inflection. Sometimes the way he talks reminds me of William H. Macy's voice in "Fargo."

He might've been teased about his voice before and that's why he posted that anti-bullying message on his Instagram, but that's just a guess.
 
I agree with you, Mox. I was so surprised when I first heard SC speak at how high and tight his voice was. So tense.
 
I didn't know him and this is all pure guessing, but, his voice is what I think of as gentle-friendly-open-harmless-vegan-caring-mellow-funny-dog-loving-eco-hippy. The cute, easy-going nice guy who works at the health-food-store, BAKING, of all things.

That persona put on to be a girl magnet, hopefully. A safe guy. Has all the cool opinions...and can get great drugs (the good, acceptable kind)...he just has this other side...edgy, violent, vindictive...but,If one doesn't get too far behind the mask, to a very young thing, he's pretty compelling combination of the good bad boy or the bad good boy. Girls AND boys just want to have fun, don't they?

So, what I think, Moxie, is that's his, "trust me" voice, used mostly with those he wants to think him an honest good guy. He thinks he's pretty good at pulling it off. It reassures him that he's ok, too, because he's scary sometimes. Scares himself.

This is ALL speculation, of course. May be total nonsense...But, in my view, he was bracing himself for what he SAID, not self-conscious about his voice. That voice had served him well. The lies, oops, well maybe not so much. He's carrying the reality, the utter horror of what he has done--in his eyes, in his ears, in his nose, in his hands and limbs. His mind is saturated with insane, bloody acts, the sights, sounds, and smells of the vilest things, done in darkness.

I'm amazed at his outward calm, day after day, hearing, watching his sorry life displayed for all to see. Exposed. It all funnels into the click, click of his pen. Sometimes he writes or doodles, sitting there next to those inept goombas. Imitating a rational person, or letting a soothing boredom cover him. But the tension in his hand...constantly closing, unclosing, clicking...working the pen around & around in his fist, while he sits impassive...I wonder each new day if he's going to explode, but he never does.

PS. I think that anti-bullying post was there solely to show others--and himself--that he's a good guy, you know, caring. So the cause du jour, complete with memes, hey, ready made advertisement for his mask.
 
Wow, that's a great and very chilling description, Napili. That persona likely served him well with the unsuspecting, such as his grandmother? He seems quite comfortable in the "good boy" role. Quite the practiced actor, isn't he?
I noticed his hand activity in a news video just before he was arrested, clenching and unclenching his fist and slapping/tapping his fingers on his leg as he stood in front of the judge looking agreeable.
Predator mode.
 
Question for all: is anyone having trouble posting on this site? I know Pua was a few days back, and for the past 4-5 days I've been unable to edit. I just get a blank screen.

Great character analysis, Napili! I have definitely noticed his cultivated "nice guy" persona & tone of voice. Sometimes you can catch a crack in the persona with his words: In the police interview where describing Charli's tattoos he says very contemptuously "A unicorn or some sh it..." and then in the interview with M. Lincoln he says "...it was supposed to be like a surprise at the baby shower and all that crap." I find that there are constant cracks in his nice-guy persona with a bleed-through of very biting, contemptuous remarks.

I will also say, when the camera focuses on him in court, usually he just looks bored...but there have been TWO times when, unbeknownst to him, the camera zoomed close in on him and his eyes suddenly - out of nowhere - changed and took on the most creepy, demonic, evil look. It was bone-chilling. The first time, he looked right at the camera just out of the corner of his eyes without moving his head and it was SO creepy. The other time he was sitting there looking downward, then he slowly rolled his eyeballs up and to his left and his eyes bulged out and only the whites of his eyes were showing. I almost did shee-shee in my pants, it was terrifying.

yes, that's what I was experiencing. That and no ability to make a paragraph or format. It went away, but was super annoying.
If you have not already, try deleting your WS cookies and clearing your browser cache and starting clean.
 
I'm having trouble also. I also notice on my phone it keeps me logged on infinitely.
