Good morning and thanks Spellbound, did you get any sleep?

A KHOU reporter was trying to get to Rockport to view the damage, stopped under an underpass as debris on the road made it unsafe to continue.

I got some, but not as much as I really need. CARIIS had to be scolded to get some sleep .... I guess 3 hours is better than none. No coffee with that cig, CARIIS? I survive on good strong black coffee!

At least you got some. Doing fine here, watching the water start to come up on the back patio, we have drainage but leaves must be covering the grates, once this band passes I'll go out and clear it so the back doesn't flood. Even though the track has changed some and they think Harvey will stay to our west, still expecting vast amounts of water.

Hope it can stay that way for you. Those drainage grates can be a real pain when they clog. I always have to go out and clean mine. Be well, luv.

in path...of Harvey, born and raised in Texas, hunkering down..backyard flooding, trees coming down, only 20 minutes from Galveston..have whole house natural gas gen, plenty of supplies, rain coming down in sheets sideways, its crazy...I'm middle 50's, ridden out many a storm..

flooding has to be horrid

If it is safe go walk around and do several drains around your home too - at least that way you can keep your area low . I would assume the way they are talking there is going to be a point where those systems are at standstill at least this way you get the msot bang for your buck

The National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. said Harvey was still holding on to hurricane status, with peak winds of 75 mph. Importantly, its forward motion had essentially stopped. The storm is presently drifting to the north at a mere two miles per hour. This means torrential rain is set to drench many of the same locations for hours and days and the feared flood catastrophe may be about to begin.
