Steely, you are truly one of the nice guys in this world!!

My daughter has donated hair to Locks six or seven times and about ready for another hair cut.

I gave once. There are a lot of other people, like your daughter who've done it a lot more. They are great people.

Mr. Scuba has long hair. I braid it every morning for him. I measured it today, 16 inches! I have already had him tell me he will donate it when he gets it cut. Now getting it cut is another matter - he loves his long hair.

Just now seeing this. Great job Steely! How awesome that you did this! :great:

Chicks do dig guys with long hair. :sigh: But that's ok, it will grow back.

This does not in any way excuse your behavior. :nono:

Please forgive me Steely. I was half awake when I posted this morning. I also meant to commend you on your "donation". It is a wonderful gift and I'm glad that you shared it with us. When the JA trial ended the other day, I saw your post to go and see some happy news. There were 10 others on your thread at the same time! GO STEELY!

Steely, once is one more than I have done, when my hair gets a few inches I start looking for somebody with scissors.

Anyone male or female who has 10" of hair to spare, donate it !!!! Locks Of Love is the best. Last year i did a "double donation" in one sitting (about 22" hair at one time -- tresses hadn't been cut for 30+ years) and plan on doing at least another 10" soon (yep, my hair grows quickly). Agreed re: the dermatologist recommendation re: real-hair wigs --- SOOOOOO much better than manmade chemical fake pieces. Good job, everyone who has donated.

My hair grows super fast so about every year/every other year I take a good 10-12 inches off. But They won't accept my hair because it's been dyed. D: I have really nice, soft, healthy hair. I wish they would accept it.

They take dyed hair now. Go to the homepage and read the qualifications. :seeya:

What an awesome thread!! :)

I've been growing out my hair to donate for several years now. I have to admit that I've gotten very attached to it and am hesitant to cut it....lol. I will eventually because it's something I've always wanted to do. It is so nice to see how many others have donated.

Hi, just wanted to say I DID IT! Don't know if it speaks to my procrastinating or what, but I put my hair in a ponytail and whacked it off myself within an hour of first reading here. I knew I might not do it otherwise. Gulp. It's kinda weird not having long hair anymore, but it will grow God willing. I've never given much thought about what it's like to not be able to grow hair. So, thank you Steely Dan for making me aware, you rock and I'm hoping you are feeling good today! God bless you man!

You :rocker:

I would suggest that people who do it, have it done at the hairdresser so they can make it look decent afterword. They can also give you a bag to use to send it in for.

Thanks Karraster.

Are you sayin' I don't look decent? Yes or No? :floorlaugh:

From what I can see, through the computer screen, you look amazing.

:seeya:You look amazing too doll. Great videos you do btw. I love the personal touches, i.e. snoopy snickering at the end and such.

I cut about 8" off a few years ago to use for my doll making, but I've promised people I will donate the rest when I'm finally ready to cut it off. It gets hot, so I may do it by the end of summer. Last time I measured it was 29+ inches and has never been dyed or permed (I can't breathe around chemicals.) I know my mother's wigs meant a lot to her when she lost her hair, so I'm hoping to do it before it starts turning grey.

Awesome thread. When menopause reared its sweaty head I lost all the usuals but gained a new talent - growing hair! For the past 14 years I've been donating my pony when it gets to be about 14 inches. It's a little on the thin side but long and not colored, so I figure it's good for filler.

I may not be able to cure diseases but I sure can grow a fast head of hair.
