She was murdered. I don’t think he’s innocent, but I’m not so sure who did it! Todd or his son?! And the state hasn’t proved who did it. At one point my mind wondered if one of Amy’s lovers or wives could have done it. Shoot ...after the screaming match with Todd’s mother —-I wondered if she could have done it! I’m guessing, however, it was Todd (or their son).

You mean to tell me, you think you could be impaled by a corn rake, pull it out of your own back (extremely doubtful), stand up then fall on it again, then roll over to fetal position?

Todd, the DA, and the Prosecutor all agree that she was murdered, so I'm not sure why people still think it was an accident.

Stranger things do happen, IMO, but I think he's guilty.

(That was just another possibility, IMO.)

It is strange that there was no reported violence or physical abuse prior to the murder. Or was there? Did I miss something? Sure, Todd was controlling and kept a watch on Amy due to her infidelity- but at any time did he previously threatened her life, hit her? Amy seemed very open with her friends when discussing Todd’s controlling ways, did she ever mention physical abuse or violence?

Jury deliberations begin in Todd Mullis corn rake murder trial

Sep 20, 2019

"DUBUQUE — The man accused of impaling his wife with a corn rake finished testifying Friday, and the jury is now deliberating over a verdict in the case....

Prosecutors have focused on Amy’s extramarital relationship with a man named Jerry Frasher, along with Todd’s fear of losing the family farm if Amy divorced him, as to why Todd would willfully and deliberately kill his wife.

During Friday morning testimony, Todd testified that certain internet search terms about killing were related to hunter safety training. He also testified he wasn’t actually convinced Frasher and his wife were having an affair....

“The only part you have to decide is if Todd Mullis did it,” defense attorney Gerald Feuerhelm told the jury during closing arguments Friday, ceding that Amy Mullis was in fact murdered.

Assistant Attorney General Maureen Hughes said during her closing argument that Todd “butchered his wife”, addressing how Trysten Mullis’ testimony allegedly changed from his original depositions about how long his dad was out of his sight the day of the murder.

“His story keeps changing,” Hughes said. “He’s a 13-year-old kid who just wants things to go back to the way they were. But they can’t, because his mother is dead.”

The prosecution urged jurors to consider Google searches on the Mullis iPad as evidence along with a 911 call placed by Todd Mullis after he found his wife. The prosecution claims Mullis is saying “die, you cheating b***”, while the defense told the jury Todd was extremely out of breath and was actually saying “she’s cold.”

If convicted, Todd Mullis would face life in prison without the possibility of parole."

Todd Mullis Trial Prosecution Closing Argument 092019

Amy is the only source for the idea that Todd was violent and might kill her & was ultra controlling.

There aren’t any measurable facts that support this ( domestic violence arrests, police calls w/o arrests , gps tracking , lack of ability to leave farm etc ) .

Everyone who reported those characteristics as being attached to Todd were only going solely on Amy’s say-so.

Amy was justifying her actions. She shared the knowledge of her affair with people and then also subsequently justified it. I think it’s fairly obvious.

I can’t diagnose anybody of course but she seems to me to have some Borderline/Histrionic Personality Disorder. Maybe Todd is Narcissistic as Narcs and Borderlines tend to attract, but I don’t think that means he’s a Pitchfork murderer by any stretch.

Not Guilty IMhO

Prosecutor wasn’t good - Investigators were not good and seemed to obviously have a strong case of confirmation bias - “Damning” google searches weren’t what they were characterized as & systematically defused one after another .

Even if he did it ( possible imo ) or if he and Tristan did it/covered it up ( also possible) The case as argued did nothing much to convince of those potential possibilities.

I almost thought this one could have been dismissed before closing arguments , but I know that never really happens.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry Frasher re-emerges as a suspect in the future.

I think he was cleared due to his GPS/Phone tracking showed him elsewhere. How easy is it to leave your phone at home while you do something you don’t want to be associated with? The secret of Cell Phone tracking in court cases is very common knowledge now, not hard to avoid that pitfall.

Court TV is showing autopsy photos...:(

Agree 100%, no indication of domestic abuse calls and not a single witness stated Todd was known to be physically abusive.

I suppose he could have snapped but I agree with you this is odd

Just a curious question - what was Tristan’s relationship like with his mom? Where were the other two children when the murder occurred? Did they get interviewed at all about the family dynamic?
