Dinkins has now requested a bench trail, the trial is now scheduled to start Thursday and will be moved back to Scott County since there will be no jury.

I'm surprised the judge even allowed this at the last minute. What a waste of everyone's time and the states money.

Thanks for the article @JerseyGirl - just saw it this morning.

I too am surprised the Judge allowed this. This is a long time coming to trial!

How is this possible? What a waste of resources, I’m FUMING!!!! Henry Dinkins needs to go away and never see the light of day.

I have no doubt Dinkins will never again see the light of day. To many coincidences for him to have not done it.

Hopefully waiving a jury trial at the last second just as jury selection was to begin pissed off the judge and will be just another little nail in Dinkins coffin.

Will the bench trial be televised?

As I watch the trial, and see the defendant sitting so nonchalantly by his lawyer, I pray without a doubt that deep inside he is scared $h!tless. I hope he feels the gravity of the situation and knows he will be in prison for as long as he lives for what he's done.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Testimony ended Friday with Breasia Terrell’s brother saying he woke up in the middle of the night and his sister was nowhere to be found.

Testimony began with the police sergeant who said evidence shows she didn’t run away.
[.....]
In the summer of 2020, DL, then 7 years old, lived with Breasia and said they had a “great” relationship and were “very close.”

On July 9, Breasia and DL were visiting their maternal grandmother, Donita Gardner.
[.....]
DL and Breasia’s mom, Aishia Lankford dropped off clothes for the pair, including pajamas. The brother and sister met their mother in the parking lot, taking a moment to play with her dog.

When they went back inside the home, DL said they went back to their same spots: he was alone in the living room, and Breasia, Culberson and Dinkins were in the backroom.

Later that night both DL and Breasia took showers, but instead of changing into the pajamas their mother brought over, Dinkins gave the siblings large white shirts that fell to their knees.

Peiffer testified earlier in the day that Breasia’s remains were found with a 4XL white T-shirt.
[.....]
DL said when Dinkins came back later he was “a little weird” and went to the backroom closet to grab something and then left the apartment. He came back and left again and came back again. When leaving this time, DL went with him in the Impala.

That was the last piece of testimony before the judge adjourned the trial a little after 5 p.m.

Friday began with the continuation of Sgt. Geoffrey Peiffer’s testimony from Thursday.
[.....]
FBI agent Richard Fennern testified about using cellular data that was used to advance the investigation. With maps showing when and where Dinkins’ phone connected with cell towers in the area. One place he stopped was at the Walmart in Clinton, where he was shown buying a bottle of bleach.
[.....]
Testimony will continue Monday [8/14/23] at 9:30 a.m.

A lot more in article about testimony.

Late Friday afternoon, the son of a suspect in the 2020 death of a 10-year-old Davenport girl took the stand and said he thinks his father took Breasia Terrell.

“D. L.” was with 51-year-old suspect Henry Dinkins, D. L.’s half-sister Breasia Terrell, and Dinkins’ girlfriend Andrea Culberson the night Breasia disappeared in July of 2020, according to officials and D. L. He said he woke up to discover Dinkins and Breasia were gone.

D. L. is the son of Henry Dinkins and Aishia Lankford. Dinkins is not Breasia’s biological father. Aishia Lankford is Breasia’s mother.
[.....]
Dustin Garner, with the Davenport Fire Department, formerly a detective with Davenport Police Special Victims Unit, also took the stand on Friday.
[.....]
FBI Agent Richard Fennern, a member of the FBI Cellular Analysis Survey Team, took the stand mid-afternoon Friday. “For a cell phone to operate, it needs to connect to a cell tower,” he explained. A cell phone is “constantly scanning and communicating with the network,” he said. Investigators can use historical records to show where an individual was, he said. Fennern said he analyzed data on Dinkins’ phone, including incoming and outgoing calls.

Davenport Police Sgt. Geoffrey Peiffer also testified. “Mr. Dinkins was the last person to be with Breasia Terrell,” he said. “He was the custodial caregiver for her at this residence that night.”
[.....]
The trial is set to resume at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Scott County Court.
