Although she doesn't match the age - they have never found Regina Bos missing since 2000 in Lincoln Nebraska. She was last seen after playing guitar and signing at Duggan's Pub. There was some speculation from investigators that they had an idea of who was responsible for her disappearance, but not enough evidence to name or make an arrest.

I found the paragraph about organized crime in the Newsweek article posted today interesting, this brings about the possibility he didn’t necessarily kill all of the victims, his land/well could just be the dumping ground for the organized crime victims…. “In the late 1990s, Richard Heideman, a retired FBI special agent with 35 years of experience – 20 in the Omaha field office – told Newsweek the federal bureau received information that organized crime had disposed of bodies in a well using lye. Ultimately the search yielded no results. But he said the story is similar to what authorities are now looking for in the hollow.”

Yes. I grew up in the area, Thurman is a tiny but actually very nice little town. This address is rural, between Thurman and Tabor. Not quite as small as Thurman, but still what I'd describe as a nice little town.

It's 30 minutes from the Omaha / Council Bluffs metro, probably 40 minutes from anywhere you'd find sex workers. He was known to be a gambler too, right? In the 80's the Aksarben horse track in Omaha was a big deal, then the Bluffs Run dog track in Council Bluffs, and finally casinos in Council Bluffs opened in 1994 (might have been 1993, I don't remember exactly). All about 40 minutes from his address.

Sounds plausible to me.

From what I know of morels, they do grow well in dirt conditions were the dirt has recently been disturbed. Such as locations where a tree trunk was removed. But, since the dude's been dead for nearly 10 years, there shouldn't really be any "recently" disturbed soil. I've never grown or harvested morels myself but do they continue to re-grow in locations such as older burial sites?

Lie detector tests are utter BS. All it shows is whether you are physically stressed when making a particular statement. There could be many reasons for that, other than anxiety. For example, in Lucy's case, recounting painful memories could trigger anxiety.

I would never agree to taking a lie detector test, especially if I was innocent and truthful.

Edit to add, I'm very angry that they are demanding she take a lie detector test. She's being treated like a criminal. Whether her account is accurate or not, she is a pure victim, either of her father's alleged crimes, or his general violence causing her mental health issues, or both. I suspect the fact that they stood her up is because they were not actually interested in giving her the test (because they are BS), but just to gauge Lucy's willingness to have her honesty tested, and determine how confident she is of her own story.

This makes me angry. I would only trust the local police to care and to have the integrity to properly investigate.

Even if one fully trusts the FBI, they shouldn't arrogantly discount local knowledge and experience from the local police.

There are a couple reasons for the FBI heading this. One is the interstate possibility. The second is resources. Does Thurman really have the budget and equipment for a task like this? This is kind of like the situation in Delphi, IN but on a larger scale. I agree that keeping everyone else out of the loop and limited to support roles is a crock, but that is par for the course with the feds.

That is not in any news media yet. I have a source on the ground, my friend Bob Motta of Defense Diaries Podcast. He is doing Tik Tok updates @defensediariespodcast. I would have been riding shotgun with him out there but I had to work.

As for the coroner, they wouldn't be called there unless they discovered something, at least in the big cities. In a small town they typically have a "day job" and act as coroner. I am not sure what the case is in this county.
