The organization also has helped with a reward fund for information leading to locating them. Volunteers will be there to help sort and bag up all cans and plastic beverage container for transportation to Metro Area Redemption Center in Cedar Falls to be counted and sorted by machine.

Container deposit money raised will go to The Missing And Exploited Children’s Fund, as requested by most of the missing girls’ family members. No monetary donations will be accepted.

Some volunteers may be available to go door to door to pick up containers for those not able to transport them to the Cattle Congress grounds.

Above your your bolded sentence says: "Also, a can and bottle drive to raise funds benefiting organizations aiding in the search for missing cousins will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 in the Ag Building on the National Cattle Congress grounds
Organizer Jamie Mangrich said deposits from every can or bottle collected will go towards the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which he said has been a big help in the search for the girls.

I think they mean the money from the bottle/can deposits will go to NCMEC, but they won't accept cash.

Thank you, Thank you. Carrie

See that where my dyslexia kicked in, I had it all backward...

I thought they had containers for money to be deposited but the next line said they weren't excepting any money...

I was berated for my opinion that instinct plays a part in investigations, and told in no uncertain terms that I was incorrect about this.

I note that LE have actually specifically asked people to NOT ignore their instincts on this one.

Whatever works.

Investigators have asked locals to trust their intuition, and have provided an example of what they mean.

"Detectives are also hoping intuition might provide much-needed help.

"I think John down the street is a little strange, but I don’t want to be the one to say John's a little strange because I don’t want the cops to go talk to John and say, 'Well, the neighbor up the street thought you were a little strange.' That's understandable," Moulder said. "You have a basic sense about people. If you think somebody is just a little off, that’s not a bad thing."

UPDATE: Officials investigate possible connection between attempted abductions
Posted: Sep 12, 2012 12:21 PM EDT

Kids and adults in four Iowa towns have been reporting encounters with a very similar suspicious man. Some claim he was trying to abduct them.

The man in these cases is described as white, age 60-70, with a beard or mustache, and shaggy or longer hair. Most recently he's been seen driving a white or silver minivan with a dent on the rear passenger side.

Watch the video lots of info

instinct

intuition

tom-a - toes

tom-ah -toes

It is clear there will be no meeting of the minds. C'est la vie.

I found grandma (WC) appearance on JVM last night sad. She was so focused on disputing how the recent update from LE with the six tips implying that the perp is local does NOT refer to family members or past criminal associates that IMO she did more harm than good.

She mentioned it in the Nancy Grace interview but the actual lake name was inaudible.

She said they had also been to Bern's Pool a lot.

George Wyth lake/beach rings a bell for me? Anyone else recall?

In watching this video one thing I find important in these most recent abductions is the "small town" factor. In the video we see 4 towns, somewhat close, that all have these same reports. And I also feel a sense of almost a "cluster" of attempts.

This leads me to believe that it's most likely not someone from the area. I can almost guarantee you that if these people were locals half the town would know them (or at least recognize them or their vehicle).

When given descriptions in the details that have been released, I could quickly say yes or no that I know someone who fits the description (from my town).

I think these people are traveling perps - making sure not to appear in the area too long as to prevent recognition. Why oh why aren't we finding these people? Ticks me right off that they are continuing to make these attempts over and over. Odds of attempts/success would indicate that we aren't far off from a successful abduction again.:banghead:

You know, it could very well be a pack of MIA RSO who have rented or bought a house somewhere in the middle of no where and travel the Midwest abducting children and women.

People always think that is "Far Fetched"

But we here in southwest Florida had the 9/11 terrorist living among us for a while and never knew it...

Before they committed the 9-11 terrorist attacks that changed America and the world, some of Osama bin Laden's most notorious confederates called South Florida home. They stayed among us in cheap apartments and transient motels, trained at local gyms or flight schools and drank at a popular bar

I recall you posting that... Actually, I think of you every time I read "Don't ignore your natural instincts - they can be very valuable" in Item#6 of DCI's list. (:

I wonder if this guy in a white mini van is the same one in August that attempted to kure kids in Colo and Slater Iowa. If it is, he really is moving around.

Because me and the little Google Man don't get along..(he goes left when I want him to go right and right when I want him to go left)

I need to ask..

Is there a 5 and dime store anywhere near the Collins House or any little store like a Dollar tree...?

The girls were not seen on the camera until after 12:10.
So where were they from 11:30 - 12:10

Is there a Description of Those Attempts anywhere that might give auto that was driven?
