I didn't get to transcribe the question and answer session, I should have given the kids ice cream while I did it. Who knew they'd need hugs, monster trucks and for me to see the mermaid. Sorry.

Awww, bless your little ones. :heartbeat:

I could hear Abben's responses to the questions, but I had a hard time hearing the questions themselves. :(

(I wanted to crank up the speakers, but I'm at work.)

i keep wondering if the perp carried smaller elizabeth in first and then carried lyric, who was over twice as heavy as elizabeth and got tired? can't tell where the road is or who was found where but i keep trying to come up with reasons they weren't put together...hmmmm

Now, how do you know they weren't put together?

For locals: Would the water level have been higher at the time the girls went missing? Is it possible they were actually IN the water and then as the water level dropped....ended up on the shore?

I doubt the two bodies would have ended up that close to each other if the bodies were deposited by the current of the rivers.

Same here. At work AND son calls telling me about his crown and tooth that fell out. How dare he!!! (j/k - bless his heart)

Bless Liz and Lyric and their families. I hope we have answers sooner than later.

Abben said the area was not searched that far in. That irks me.

Dang, LE really needs to let out more info if they want this case closed.

Thank you to those who took notes and posted. I saw the presser but it is always helpful to have notes to refer back to.

Abben said they asked other counties to check their parks but this was off of the road so he is unable to say if it was searched. Seriously? Come on now.... if you are looking for two missing girls would you really only search by roads?! :headbang:

I doubt it...we were in drought conditions when the girls went missing and still haven't had an abundance of precipitation.

Adding on to the quote from the conservation board guy, Iowa was in a drought this summer. Rivers across the state were at historically low levels in places, low enough to walk across normally wide, deep rivers without getting your knees wet.

Unless the Wapsi was an outlier, the girls weren't brought in by canoe or the river itself.

I just heard the girl's bodies were found. OMG :( :(
I will try to catch up and not annoy you all with questions. I am sooo sad. RIP angels.

it frustrated me in the beginning as well. there is so much rural area though I really think they were relying on farmers out in their fields during harvest and hunters in the fields (pheasant season) and in the woods (deer season) to actually cover the most area.

Maybe a silly question, had this area been searched at all?

It was not searched in the official publicised earches but there were posters on Facebook who spoke in july about how they wanted to searh there and thought it a likely place to look. We do not know if that small froup of concerned Facebook posters did so or if was just an idea that never came to fruition.

Did they say if there are suspects or if anyone is in custody? Was this question even addressed? And...how can you speculate that the 2 bodies are E and L based on "stature" and "no one else is missing", when the parents haven't even viewed the bodies or identified them?

Something isn't right here IMO...

Purely speculation and I am going all out with this...I think there is a witness, participant, or suspect and he/she is talking. That is how they located the bodies, know it is L and E, and they are looking in the ditches a distance away from where the bodies were located because the person told them there is evidence (weaponss, clothes, belongings, etc) there!

Wish there'd been more info in the presser :(
