Hello websleuther friends, I see there is really no new news. Wouldn't they know if Klunder is our girls killer by now?

The really scary thing is there's more than one double child abductor roaming Iowa unseen by the authorities. Not quite sure how this happens as I believe whoever took the girls was an experienced felon with a record of incarceration.

I blame meth and obviously a very poor information flow within agencies. It's the 21st century, there is no excuse for this. I have long suspected interagency sniping and miscommunication was a factor in this mess.

I'm following Kathlynn missing too. If there is a fiber, a cell phone ping, a hair human or animal, a chemical related to pigs, a video of a vehicle owned by MK in Evansdale's that day, dirt from Dayton found at 7Bridges, tire tracks etc.., I want to know.

Do I think he did it? I don't know. The RSO friend, TC, living on River Forest Rd, where he does is really is suspicious. Court docs from Bremer Co years back gives him ties to the area, lived in Waverly, abducted two girls recently & toddler twins & sexual assault, DV etc...yeah. I want to know. Curious that way since birth...ha ha!

Oh, I believe he said in court he was a coke head? I'll try to find the article.

Hello cindersoot! Great question! I don't think DNA is going to be the answer to link Klunder to our girls if he is the killer. I think the key is going to lie with finding the vehicle he was driving last year at the time of the girls' abduction and murder.

"Meyers said investigators also continue to look into whether Klunder was responsible for the kidnapping and slaying of two cousins last year in Evansdale, but he cautioned that it could take time to complete the lab testing, interviews and other work needed to make a determination. Lab testing? Does he mean DNA testing or they testing other things such as the tire tracks? I also think they are going to have to interview a lot more people to see if they remember Klunder in the area last summer. Curious as to what Meyers means by "other work needed to make a determination."

Also, "Meyers also said that investigators had almost made general checks of databases of missing children in Iowa and nationally to see if Klunder could be involved in other cases, but “at this point, we don't have any information that would substantiate any other correlation.” They need to check Florida because that's where he was married and may have spent some time there. Maybe the family owns a condo share or something in Florida? Also, Texas. That's where they brought him back from after he abducted the young woman and then dumped the twins in the trash.

OH my! Dr. Know? Your post certainly was food for thought for me!!!! BBM! Just thinking that from the pictures from Kathlynn's thread, we saw the little dog tied in front of Klunder's house. What if a year ago that little dog was a puppy and Klunder used the puppy to lure the girls? Maybe he let the girls hold the puppy. Maybe there are puppy hairs embedded in what remains of the girls' clothing? Maybe ? :please:

Yes, that Christian-based treatment makes me wonder if he was a member of the Promise Keepers. They were close to Waterloo and having some meeting of sorts the weekend of July the 13th. That could have brought Klunder close to Waterloo and he could have visited his RSO friend TC. TC might not have been home, but he could have crossed paths with the girls that day in that way...
 
Just knowing his past and his MO, at this point, I can not doubt it could be him involved with the girls. I'm open and have my other list of suspects if not. Nothing to prove or disprove until more facts are presented. He used flashers on his vehicle to assault this woman in the link below. Snuck up on a teen delivering papers to try and assault her when he too was a teen & left her beaten up...the toddler twins & no, there's more...he's one sick mo fo. jmo

I think he would use any method possible to lure children or adults.

In politics, for example, you need a check & balance system. Democrats and Republicans and etc., etc... The idea is to come together down the middle. I think local LE has given over too much to the higher-ups. I think they are TOO compliant with this tight-lid program. By the time these agencies realize their stranglehold tactics aren't going to be successful and they decide there's no other choice than to start opening up to the public, is it going to be too late? One minor detail that might have sparked someone's memory a year ago, will easily have been long forgotten.

I don't think local LE is incompetent, simply because I don't think they're calling the shots. However, I do have a problem with them for so willingly letting themselves be led by the nose. I still keep thinking back to the FBI agent (I forget her name) who went on camera saying they had reason to believe the girls were alive. What the hell kind of tactic was that?? Large govt. agencies can be sometimes too large, too much red tape, too many pissing matches and too slow to admit their protocol is ********. Sometimes you need to shoot from the hip. Damnit, Mr. Abben, if Klunder isn't it- you need to get your damn guns out.

I use to think the same about the FBI agent saying they believed the girls were still alive until I found JJB and his convo with RL about the same day the agent said that in the news. It was fb comments posted and then some comments posted on meetme dot com. JJB was out in less than a few months and is now a RSO (7 counts of lascivious acts) as of Jan. 2013, filed in Nov. 2012. A 12 year old and a 20 something guy. gah And claims to be related to the girls. RL was said to be missing from July 9th and no word when he did return. His comments to JJB on fb were alarming due to the timing and JJB's comment before RL's. That one fizzled I guess.

All kinds of things just from records of the family too. Possible rivals and plenty of drug problems.

I'd rather it be less complicated and don't want to tangle MK and his record up. He's obvious to me. I'll give them all the time they need but if it goes past 2 months, I'll be doubting 'em again. ha!

Yes, I've seen where FBI has the locals by the you know what before.

We sit in a kind of cocoon here. We are not in the 'vortex' of either investigation. I keep telling
myself that! I am sure LE is well aware of the public interest and anxiety in this whole mess ...

I am sure the recent weather problems have only added to LE's responsibilities! It's just one
more thing everyone is coping with right now...

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office sent out a press release late Friday morning saying they were still following up on all information in the case of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins, two Evansdale girls whose bodies were found at Seven Bridges Wildlife Area in December.

EVANSDALE MISSING COUSINS LAW ENFORCEMENT UPDATE

Investigators with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies continue to follow-up on information obtained in the disappearance and death of Lyric Cook - Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins.

With regards to any connection between Michael Klunder and the Evansdale case, investigators are still tracking his actions and whereabouts around the date of the disappearance and are still sifting through information to try and determine whether there is or is not any connection.

While Mr. Klunder's actions in Dayton are of interest to this case, our focus remains on all aspects of the investigation and he is not the sole focus of our attention. Other leads continue to be uncovered and investigators continue to follow-up on any and all information that comes in.

We will continue to keep the public up to date as information becomes available.

Nothing at all about DNA so whatever was recovered from our girls, if any, is not Klunders'.

They would know by now IMO, so would we.

This may be approaching critical mass for any prosecution!

The more time they take, the more hoops and what if's LE/Abben is relying
on, the more holes a defense can poke in any potential prosecution
regardless of who it is, or when, or if anyone is ever charged. They had
better have evidence that is unimpeachable or you can almost kick the
can on this case.

When is Abben up for re-election? Is he solely responsible and calling all of
the shots?
