I don't think that white vehicle posted is a truck with a cap.

Here is why.

There are rear half-hatch fold out doors and a lift up trunk.

Definitely an older SUV. MOO

Each time I check this case, I hope I will find it moved to the currently awaiting trial forum which means an arrest would have been made.

After watching a recent airing of the show Manhunt with John Walsh, I started thinking about the prolific pedophile, Frederick Cecil McLean, who was featured and started a thread.
Although he has not been known to murder the children he abused, he is considered armed and dangerous and will do anything to avoid jail and anything to get children.
So, wondering if the church-going, outdoorsy fugitive, who could be hiding/traveling anywhere, might alter his usual m/o and grab, molest, then kill his young victims?

Posted about him early on in the thread when the girls were abducted, not realizing quite how how dangerous he was considered to be..jmo.

Thank you for the link, NWLady. It's so reassuring to read that the investigation is still active.

The KCRG article gives more info than the one posted on KWWL, that I was about to post.

This gives me some hope that this case will be solved. I'll never forget these little girls.

Lowery and a team of about 25 people -- including the FBI, NCIS Missing Children's Unit, law enforcement from all over the nation, and experts with the Center -- spent the day looking over the case.
The goal is to develop strategies for continuing the investigation.
Lowery says in these case reviews, no one is allowed in, including the families of the missing children.
"There's also discussions that have to remain open between investigators, sharing thoughts and ideas, and these are kind of things that we don't want to share with the public because, again, offenders could be watching this as well," said Lowery.
Lowery says their focus is to look at all potential suspects and who the best potential suspects in this case would be.
"We want to make sure this person is identified and brought to justice," he said

This kind of brainstorming is fantastic, not only for the light shone on Lizzie and Lyric's case, but for the ultimate advancement of every unsolved crime, today and in the future.imo.

I am so glad that other investigators will be looking at this case. Maybe they will find something that will lead to this case being resolved.

I take some comfort in knowing that there IS information that they aren't sharing with the public, that only the killer would know.

does anyone remember how long it would take someone to drive a vehicle from the auction house to Meyer's Lake? Thanks.

This is great news. Maybe they'll take it back to the beginning and start by eliminating family as suspects, we know they've cleared Dan & Misty, but I'd love to see the rest of the family cleared starting with Elizabeth's parents and working out from there. Hopefully they can then revisit the initial suspects and witnesses.

Heather and Drew have been cleared. Heather was at the doctor and I believe Drew was working. There's never been doubts about them.

Regarding Dan and Misty being cleared, IIRC no family was officially "cleared", were they? I think Smock was kind of ambiguous about that.

"Chief Smock told KWWL sex offender teams from the state Division of Criminal Investigation are helping interview people of interest, but he says no one has been detained and those interviewed are not any closer to being suspects than anyone else.

On the other hand, he says no one's been cleared of suspicion, either."

As far as I know, only Klunder was ever officially cleared.
