:bump: for Ethan...

...Kazmerzak was seen in several area pubs on Sept. 14, including Pit Row and the Red Moose in Hampton as well as Duck’s in Aredale. He was reportedly last seen at a party at a gravel pit pond located behind a house in the 1400 block of 190th Street. ...“To try to explain to you what we’ve been through this past year is impossible,” said Hemmes. “That’s why we’re up here begging anyone who knows anything to please call and give them some kind of information, because a year’s a long time. We really need closure with this.”

...“She said, ‘Oh, April. We need to bring our boy home,’ ” Hemmes recalled. “She said, ‘He’s our boy, he’s my boy, he’s this town’s boy, he’s this town’s son. He’s our son and everyone who knows you and cares about you wants to help him come home.’ ”

Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information regarding Kazmerzak’s disappearance to call the Hampton Police Department at (641) 456-2529 or North Iowa Crime Stoppers at (800) 383-0088. Kazmerzak was described by authorities as being about 5’ 5” tall, 185 pounds, with blond hair and a reddish-colored beard. He wears thick, black-rimmed glasses.

Hampton police follow up on discovery of human remains

Hampton Police Chief Robert Schaefer said his department has reached out to Freeborn deputies to see if the remains could be that of Ethan Kazmerzak

Kazmerzak, 22, was last seen Sept. 15, 2013, in Hampton.

Officials aren't sure if could be Kazmerzak, because the initial description of the remains doesn't quite match with the missing Hampton man, Schaefer said.

"You kind of have some hopes that it is (Kazmerzak), but they're kind of thinking this person might be a little bit taller than our person is, so we're not sure," Schaefer said.

how awful the not knowing must be for these families!!! I can't even imagine. I do think he probably wrecked his car and hope he is found soon, but it would be so great if he just drove away and dropped "out" for a while and comes home to his family!

Ethan is one of about 200 people that I've found (so far) to be missing along with a vehicle.

Coming up on 3 and half years that he's been missing. This article is old but it doesn't look like it was posted and it has some good info: http://hamptonchronicle.com/content/remembering-ethan

While it does appear that there were multiple searches of nearby bodies of water, there's enough of them that I wonder if every single one was checked.

This young man's family and loved ones are in my thoughts this Holiday season. :heartbeat:

In the Hampton Chronicle FB comments here, one post asks if searchers ever checked the 2 pits off Olive & 190th since there is a driving path right into it and they are so close to last phone ping:
Hampton Chronicle
The HC answers no, LE only checked the pit behind the home (as shown on tarabull's map above). Can any locals advise if LE did decide to check those since that 2013 answer was posted? I can't find anything besides LE asking property owners to check their own properties to see if anything suspicious.

MOO I think this can be solved.

Agree, this one should have been solved. Ethan's remains are very likely in his car, submerged in one of the ponds where his phone last pinged at 190th and Olive, per below...

I can't believe the authorities have failed to find the vehicle. Gotta be in one of the 11 ponds in this image, all right at 190th & Olive:

I'll be shocked if it is eventually found elsewhere. You'd think someone could drag magnets from a boat and get this case closed.

It strikes me so odd that they haven't found the vehicle. If his body is in his car in a pond, I just feel like it would have turned up after all this time. It would have showed up during a hunting or fishing season by now, you'd think.

Could he have voluntarily disappeared and changed the license plates?

Could he have met with foul play, and the abductor is keeping his car locked in a garage?

Hopefully renewed media coverage can trigger someone's memory/bring in a tip.

I'm telling you, this young man is not missing. It is simply that no one for whatever reason does what is necessary to recover his car and remains in the car, located in one of the ponds shown above.

You'd think the Franklin County sheriff could get the job done. But, no.
