Occam's Razor.
The runner who was abducted in Ca Shari Pappini(sp?) was a beautiful young mother who was abducted and branded for a sex ring. Thankfully she survived and escaped.
Does anyone think this might be the case for MT?
Funny, I was thinking of Sherri Panini's case. In the words of Cali local law enforcement, her case "just weird". Her story doesn't follow the philosophical idea of Occam's razor for sure, and would be a desired outcome- that MT is found alive.

On the black SUV, the way the article worded it between 1130 and 1 AM, I don't think it's clear if she saw it driving for 90 min or just that that is the time frame in which she saw it. Maybe she wasn't sure on the exact time but knows it was between those times? I agree that if I saw the same car driving slowly around my block for 90 min straight, I would call it in. If I happened to look outside and just saw it happen one time, I probably wouldn't.

Good morning. Law enforcement is making a major error in not releasing investigative information. Being tight lipped for almost 3 weeks has resulted in nothing. LE says it doesn't want to compromise the investigation. Compromise what???? Please LE release the investigative information....if you have any!!!! The case and investigation will be energized

Having been in LE, you do not always want to release information - especially if you are building a case. If they make some of this information concerning her disappearance public, and they have a suspect in min, it might cause the suspect to run - or worse yet, do other things to ensure they will not be charged with a crime, like destroying evidence. Everyone seems to think the police do nothing and just wait for leads to come in, but the reality is that there is most likely a very, very large team of investigators from every discipline (forensics, profiling, missing persons specialists, etc) working on her case.

I couldn't agree more zxz! I see this happening time and again in disappearances/murders that are never solved. The time to get the pertinent information out is from the beginning while it is still fresh in someone's mind.
Thinking of Abby and Libby , Kyron Horman, etc;
The public needs the basics! IMO.

ALLEGEDLY. That's the word missing from your post.

I subscribe to the horse/zebra theory: When you hear hoofbeats think horses, not zebras. Statistically MT is more likely to be a victim of someone she knows, so I don't personally think trafficking is likely.

Urghh, I can't even imagine what these poor parents are going through. Although their goal is to find Mollie and have this out front in the public, wherever they go and whatever they see is their "missing" daughter.

Mollie's father, Robert Tibbetts, said, "Time is compressed. Days seem like weeks. We are all trying to bring Mollie back."

Police refuse to explain hog farm focus in search for missing Iowa student

The only thing I can reconcile of the continued search in this area is that they found incriminating evidence and tips keep coming in for that area.

No. Molly is waaay too old - for sex trafficking the subjects want their victims to be young - the younger the better. Ideally, between 6 and 15 or so. These are people that are looking for girls they can sell to places like Saudi Arabia, Africa, India, etc. Many do stay in the US though, and are moved from hotel to hotel. It's actually quite common to see groups of traveling escorts; if you've ever been at a hotel and you see one guy with a group of girls - there you go. As far as Sherry Pappini, well, you should review that case very carefully.

Sure..I understand not releasing SOME of the information..but not ALL of it..while a case is still fresh on everyone's mind. IMO if you keep most of the information "close to the vest" you don't give fresh minds a chance to recall anything..no matter how slight it may seem. I appreciate and understand your thoughts on this though.

Yes - that's been a concern of mine from day one - have seen investigative tv shows over the years show victims of this most heinous (a Bill and Ted movie quote reference) crime!

I hope and pray this didn't happen though!!!!

Though it may be missed, of course, but hotel, motel and airline personnel are trained to watch for sex trafficking. Mollie Does Not fit tge demographic

Training to spot sex trafficking urged for Iowa's hotels, motels

He said his group has trained personnel in over 100 hotels and motels in Nebraska to recognize signs of sex trafficking and to respond promptly by reporting suspicious activities to authorities.

O’Meara said it’s in the best interest of owners and managers of hotels and motels to conduct this training because there’s a developing legal trend of survivors and lawyers filing lawsuits against hotels and motels claiming reckless disregard for failing to properly oversee activities going on within their facilities.

Johnston Mayor Paula Dierenfeld said her community was the first in Iowa to pass an ordinance regulating massage-related businesses as a way to “root out” sex trafficking.

Belitsos said traffickers prey on young people who are habitual runaways or homeless people, although victims often are in their late teens or 20s when they are coerced into criminal activities that include prostitution and drug trafficking under force or threat of violence.

“It’s all driven by money,” said Belitsos. “ ... Today human trafficking is the fastest-growth crime in the world and right now it stands as the third highest-grossing profit.”

If some new information isn't shared at the PC's - then I'd think the public would lose interest given society's (seemingly) short attention span do and desire to know more (then maybe they should) coupled with the sensationalism aspect.

I'd be nice if LE could share something that wouldn't jeopardize their hard work - while whetting the appetites of the general public!

Nice - but, it might not be possible.

Patience is a virtue!

I wouldn't expect more information to be forthcoming. Not at all.
Look at the McStay case, for example . Basic evidence was found in the home, yet SB said, "We have no evidence of a crime," and this continued for years.
This is why I don't bother to watch 'press conferences' .

Regarding sex trafficking and her being too old, her size may make her appear younger if you are seeing her from a distance, just an observation.

This could be true. Physical attributes are not really the focus of victim identification, though. The psychological and emotional grooming of young girls/women in vulnerable situations (foster care, abusive or neglectful homes, runaway) whom would likely willingly go and not be missed are the target. MOO.

I understand the frustration people have with the lack of shared information from LE. However, it is quite possible that they already have a tight circumstantial case and don’t really need much from the public because they are waiting to find her physically before making any moves. In which case, no mistake is being made by them in not sharing. I personally am remaining hopeful that this is the case before jumping to conclusions that LE tactics are imprudent. That being said, if this turns out to not be the case, it will be massively disappointing. I have to believe that with this amount of professionals on the case and with so many people watching, that this is a very well-thought out and coherent strategy.

Why even have a PC if they're not going to give out any information or answer any questions because it might compromise their investigation?

It isn't necessary to have a PC just to tell the public they continue to receive tips, are following up on all leads, and thanking all the agencies involved.

New to this thread but shouldn't her cell phone and fit bit have significant clues as to where she last was or could have been taken? If she always wore it while running it should show where she was along with where it is now. Have they located it or the phone? Maybe I missed that part.

My thought is - out of sight, out of mind.

Need to keep the public interested and tips coming in, et al.
