It's kind of confusing because some news articles have said he shared the trailer with IM and his daughter and others have said the relationship ended 2 years ago. He may have lived in the trailer alone, but it's unlikely.
I read too that she lived there at some point. Im sure they had a room and shared the trailer with other families as they likely saved these accommodations for families. We have a town north of us....citrus farming town. Workers live 20 to a house, basically like a dorm. The farm owners own the stores, the gas station and the housing. I have to go through that town to visit my daughter and I always think what a horrible life although it is probably better than being in other countries based on my having been to Mexico and Jamaica and others previously.

Likely trying to be a "Dreamer".

To qualify as a Dreamer:

  • Have arrived in the United States prior to age 16
  • Have continuously resided in the United States without legal status since June 15, 2007
  • Be less than age 31 as of June 15, 2012 and at least age 15 at application (unauthorized immigrants under 15 but in removal proceedings are also eligible to apply)
  • Be currently enrolled in school, have graduated high school or obtained a general development certificate (GED), or be an honorably discharged veteran
  • Have not been convicted of a felony or multiple or serious misdemeanors and not pose a threat to national security or public safety
He says he moved to the US around 2010.

If he was going to lie about his age it seems he'd lie to say he was older, not younger. It would give him adult status. I think he may look older than 24 because for the last four years he's worked 12 hour days seven days a week.
Depends on the falsified identity he had procured. Asher Potts was a 23 year old illegal alien who pretended to be younger.

I very well might put too much weight into maps, but I believe there are a lot of answers in them. Not just LE's map, but just looking at google.

WHY the location he chose to leave her body? There are far more isolated spots around, some closer, some farther from abduction site and his home. So why that cornfield? There are farms on three sides, close enough to hear screaming (unless she was unconscious or gagged), and the highway is RIGHT there.

But the red dot on LE's map at V21 and 430 is almost total isolation. Abandoned buildings, farmland, only one small farm south on V21. I have always felt that is the location where the majority of crimes happened. But why not leave her there?

This is what doesn't make sense to me.

I wasn't saying he was one--DHS already said he wasn't. I just meant that may have been the plan at the beginning.

Poor Mollie's dreams.:(

For whatever reason he did not get in US legally. Maybe he couldn’t afford to immigrate legally. It’s expensive. He might have chosen school if he was legally in US, but b/c he would have to register for MY school, and they would discover his status, he prob avoided it. Not a fact, JMO
I really dont think school was a concern at all.
Last I knew LE had no record of him being here. How on earth were they able to confirm (or have they) that he entered through the border?
What other way is there to enter?

Seems like relatives are almost always "baffled" in these cases.
Actually it is true as much as I never thought so until my sister was arrested for a vicious crime against her newborn son. I always thought she was a bit off....self-centered, didn’t empathize with others’ pain or sadness. But never in my mind was she a killer and she still is not but that is what she attempted to do. She could have been if she was successful and I would have said the same things. She didn’t kill animals or talk about death and never wished someone ill will. She lived a normal life, albeit crappy by my standards but she was not ever considered dangerous until she was.

For me and probably for others who fell head over heels into this case, it was the light that was Mollie. I have a Mollie in my life, a beautiful soon to be Daughter in Law. When she enters the room, it is just brighter. There is a naivety and innocence that I remember having before the real world toughened me up. We did get to know Mollie through her SM and her family. I feel that I was watching her grow up as I read through her FB and Twitter. We were seeing her political views develop, her relationship with her boyfriend deepen. So, for me it wasn’t that she was a pretty face, it was something deeper that tugged at my heart. It was the mother, daughter, sister and wife in me. She seemed like she was going to light the world on fire.

What doesn't make sense about it?

I think one of the lessons in this case relates to the oddball pig farmer everyone was focused on. Remember him? Yes, the guy that had microphones shoved in his face hoping for a confession.
Once again, we learn you can’t judge a book by its cover. That guy will be recovering from his “celebrity” status for a long time.

Hi Roses...

Unfortunately, he is not the only one nor will he be the last. That is the reason I never accuse anyone without evidence supporting it. It is easy to assume something about someone because it takes zero evidence to do so.

I cant begin to count the times where this has happened in past heartbreaking cases. This really began to happen when social media sites became more voluminous. Then it seemed to morph into trial by internet before any of the evidence was known including the ID of the suspect.

Often times the unfounded accusations would be viscous against totally innocent parents who had their child/children abducted, raped and murdered. The very ones who were grieving unimaginable pain at the time also had to deal with the 24/7 online onslaught of horrific false allegations hurled against them.

I never believed the pig farmer was the one who had harmed Mollie. If there had been evidence pointing to him he would have been arrested much sooner.

LE doesn't care about false allegations putout on the internet. They will say they are not in the PR business and they are there to solve crimes.

Also some in the public think they have a right to know what LE has uncovered in their ongoing investigation. That will never happen nor should it. Their duty is to investigate thoroughly while gathering all evidence to arrest the suspect, and to make sure they have gathered all supporting evidence/facts in order for prosecutors to bring justice for the victims.

How I have wished so many times LE would have come out, and stopped the 'bleeding' being done against so many I knew were innocent all along, but it rarely ever happens.

It isn't only about not judging a book by it's cover........it is also about not accusing someone prematurely without any facts or evidence to support them. IMO

The local vigil for Mollie at her Church was broadcast live and I'm sure the service at school will be. I'll try to provide link. Thanks for reminder.
Right, that’s why I wondered. I am following KCCI app with updates enabled. If anything pops up with more info I might see it there and post as well. Thank you.

He or family told them. Homeland security may have had a record.

I’m afraid it is part of the crime.

First it shows a pattern of deceptive behavior.

Second, any time you’re hiding behind a false identity it begs the question why? What is he hiding? LlE has the right and the duty to investigate. And they will. If he is associated with del Narco they have a duty to investigate that.

We just won’t know until trial.

Most importantly every aspect of alien status is if his own making. He choose to live using fake documents. I am running out of words to discribe the callous murder of Mollie Tibbetts. But it was his decision to stab her. Not just once but multiple times.

He alone made the choice to abduct herand take her life. At least until others may be implicated.

Thank you for bringing this up again. I mentioned Blog del Narco in an earlier thread, but they move so fast, it was overlooked.

Blog del Narco was one of the 'likes' on his facebook page. According to Wiki, it is an anonymous blog focusing on cartel wars and crimes. It reportedly contains video of graphic, heinous violence.

Why did he like it? Was it because it revealed crimes in his home country? or is it because he liked the graphic violence?

I totally agree with the rest of your post. He made choices. He is an illegal alien. That is his legal status.

This should be quoted every time Tricia has to remind people not to talk about family, friends and people in the community unless they've been named as a POI by LE. Best post I've seen explain the reasoning behind it all.
