A conspiracy theorist might also question what they knew but didn't come forward with...You think so? I am truly chagrined, as my alcohol addled, devious mind had not yet thought of that! I am not worthy!!! And this is something that would be SOP back home in Louisiana. But speaking of conspiracy theories, if it were hush money, what else might CR know?
Thank you! That helps. My map marking skills are NOT great, so bear with me. The highlighted line is the 1900 block of 385. The blue circle is Boundary and Middle St. area. The black circle is 385 and 200. The red circle is where Mollie's body was found.
I ponder why this killer - with ties to another country - doesn't leave. A Greyhound bus ticket from Des Moines to El Paso TX could be had for less than $180. But he didn't. Why? Thought he was too smart? Thought he got away with it?
Then I think about other missing persons or murders in small towns like Liberty German/Abigail Williams, Lyric Cook/Elizabeth Collins, Jodi Huisentruit or Mariana Boelter. Has the perpetrators for those crimes been hiding in plain sight, too?

I think the committee did away with that label and now politely call it "anti-social personality disorder". I was being facetious. There was some discussion of him showing shame in court. I didn't see that.Sociopath perhaps? Huge DSM category.
3. Going to Mexico would have accomplished nothing. Mexico has an extradition treaty with the US. They would have extradited him immediately.
I think these 2 just want their 15 minutes of fame.Mollie Tibbetts case: Suspect Cristhian Rivera changes lawyers
Rivera, through his new attorneys, has withdrawn all pending motions filed by Richards and waived Rivera's right to a preliminary hearing. That means Rivera will not appear in court on Friday as previously scheduled. [bbm]
Richards had filed a motion for a gag order seeking to bar media from all court proceedings in the case.
"It’s not something Chad and I would have requested if we were on the case initially, so that’s the reason we’re withdrawing it," Jennifer Frese said. She declined to give further details about their legal strategy.
Mollie Tibbetts case: Suspect Cristhian Rivera changes lawyers
CR's new defense attorneys are a married couple, but work for separate firms. They've never tried a case like this together, but ..."they decided it would be good to have two attorneys defending Rivera since it's a high-profile case. Both Jennifer and Chad Frese practice criminal defense work, she said."
Her resume doesn't say anything about representing a defendant charged with murder.Info on one of the new attys: Marshalltown Lawyer - Marshalltown Attorney - Jennifer Bonzer | Johnson, Bonzer and Barnaby PLC
Oh boy. Let the pretrial delays and games begin. Hate to be cynical but nothing in the history of either of these 2 atty's indicates they are up to a murder 1 charge. Buckle up.I think these 2 just want their 15 minutes of fame.
I’ve been thinking about him jumping the fence at 16. And I’ve done a bit of research on where he comes from.I believe he left Mexico and came to the United States when he was 16.

I looked for some reaction but sadly saw nothing other than a brief change in facial expression around the discussion of DNA by the Judge. I really wonder if he understands what is happening to him? I realize the Judge asked this question of him in open court and he replied that he did understand but can he really understand? Another post spoke to the way of life he had in Mexico but I don't see much in his experience that would make him prepared to process this current experience? Initially I thought being in the US for a period of time might have provided him some knowledge and awareness. But by all accounts he didn't integrate into his local community and didn't seem to acquire much in the way of local language skills. Maybe what we saw in court was complete confusion and possibly terror due to lack of understanding? How did other people read the court appearance?I think the committee did away with that label and now politely call it "anti-social personality disorder". I was being facetious. It does say she prosecuted "homicides" for Webster County. Doesn't say what kind of homicides. Vehicular?
