Snipped for focus. Since we can't always tell tone online, please believe I'm not being snarky when I ask this. How do you know? I would think a smaller aircraft with all the landing and take-offs would cost more in the end, not to mention longer flight time. MOO.
PC12 around $1,495.99 per hour. Total yearly variable cost $475,200.00
Boeing 737 around $10,513.78 per hour Total yearly variable cost $4,409,572.50
Gulfstream G200 Corporate jet $5,363.42/ hour Total variable $1,726,650.00

I keep going back to all the press conferences where they kept saying they didn't want to just make an arrest but get a conviction. No way they arrested this guy before having enough to nail his wimpy butt to the wall. MOO

Really?? I had no idea... so just that I understand. Lets say you purchase a new car January 1st, pay all the TT&L, you get ur new valid plates in a couple of weeks but they will expire when your Bday rolls around (for example) on March 15th and you have to register the vehicle again?
Yeah, but you can go to the tag agency and have the overpaid amount refunded.

It’s very efficient.

Journalists from around the country are already in town for the hearing, which has not yet been scheduled.

In Idaho, suspects are expected to be brought to court for their first appearance on criminal charges within 24 hours of their arrest or extradition.

Regarding the type of airplane, which branch of LE, speed, stopovers, hopscotching, etc., I would hazard a guess that there are major security issues to be addressed, and they are doing their best to get BK back to ID (and all of them accompanying him) in one piece to face charges against him there. JMOO

ETA: I've never really understood things like "death threats" people make against someone who isn't even known to them personally, but apparently it does happen, and in this case LE would have to take any threats or perceived threats very seriously, and not be obvious about his transport, lest something 'trip' them up. I think this is why the feds (FBI) stepped in, so the individual state LE & Marshalls office wouldn't have to, and FBI is used to/practiced at nationwide transport. JMG

Don't know where you got those numbers, but regardless, you're assuming on the 737, it's only him flying. That isn't what I was suggesting.

It evidently bothers a lot of people that others watch flight data. Don't believe he's on the lear 45, however. Appears the PSP Pilatus is direct to Pullman/Moscow.
I find the number of posts about it troubling. It seems very paparazzi-like and isn't particularly related to the crime/sleuthing/legal process. Moo of course, you do you.

I don't want my argument to get lost in the details. It's not so much about one particular way to do it or one particular destination. My point is just that I am very skeptical that an all-day flight with repeated stops along the way was the best way to transport this person.
Maybe the FBI needed or wanted some "special time" with him? I find their insistence on doing the escort VERY interesting!

I believe public transportation is the least favorite way of transporting prisoners. I have talked to LE who have had to do that task. He said it was the worst part of the job, traveling on an airline with a in handcuffs with the public.
Husband flys for major carrier. He’s had prisoners on flights and says the prisoner will be cuffed in front with a jacket draped over to avoid public attention. And usually the two police officers are burly. They sit with the prisoner in between them and at the back of the plane.

Without appealing to a mh diagnosis, which we cannot do at this time because BK has not been diagnosed with anything that we know of, are there any WS out there who think there *might* be some educational or other issues that could play a role in his behavior apart from the murders he has been arrested for? No need to elaborate, just looking to see if there are similarly minded folks. MOO.
Yes!!!!! 100%.

Hancock Co IN (east of Indianapolis assume I-70) traffic stop time 10:42.

Indiana state police traffic stop time 15:50.

What were they still doing in Indiana 5 hours later after passing Indianapolis? It doesn't take that long to get to the Ohio border, it doesn't take that long to drive west to east Indiana border to border!

Maybe they took a really long lunch/nap or they found the Thai food and had to make a lot of restroom stops after eating! ;)
Maybe they went to Walmart? JMHO

If BK is afraid of flying (like the cop in one of the dashcam videos joked) this must be a hell of an experience for him. Lol
Maybe those plane stops weren’t for peeing or refueling. Hope they packed extra jumpsuits….

I agree. It’s not even about how long it’s taking, but the multiple stops can’t be seen as an efficient way to transport the most high profile prisoner in the US right now.

Everytime they land for a stop, they have to dress him in a bulletproof vest I imagine, safely escort him off and on the plane. Lockdown any airports they stop at. Not to mention the media following them about like a hawk trying to snap a photo.
It makes more sense to put him on a direct flight. For safety reasons more than anything I’d say. I’m sure the fbi have ample resources to do that too. But it’s only my opinion.

Really, a direct flight from the east coast to Boise? That's a unicorn! Layovers usually in Denver or MN.

Yup, direct flight from mid-Atlantic to Boise in early 2000's. As I said, I did have a layover in MN on another flight to Boise.
