Apologies if this has already been bought up. In Australia, when pulled over by Police (LE), they approach the Driver’s side of the Car. Is it different in the US?
We used to do that too. Now, many agencies approach the passenger side. There have been a number of accidents. My brother in law's son nearly was killed in such an accident a few months ago.

I went to bed last night after he got off the plane and was being brought to the jail. I've seen the booking photo, but is there any video of him getting out of the truck and going into the jail?

This is the b
So he’s appearing tomorrow, January 6??
Or is that just a technical error?
I don't have an answer yet, but that was tweeted 7+ hours ago so before midnight in Idaho. At that time tomorrow would be today, Jan 5.

I have a question, if you know the answer, TIA.

Wasn't the Hyundai Elantra BK drove registered in his parent's name and would that switching registration/license plates from one state to another need the owner showing up in person? Or is it all done online now and Idaho wouldn't need to eyeball the vehicle before issuing a switch from out of state?

"Friday, Nov. 18
-Bryan Kohberger got a new license plate for his Hyundai Elantra five days after the murders, records show. He changed from PA to WA"
I believe it was his car and not his parents (imo). PA District Attorney seems to say that: "With assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, search warrants were obtained for the residence of Kohberger located at ________, a vehicle registered to Kohberger, and his person."
Do you know why everyone thinks it was his parents car?

I've wondered if maybe Kaylee took a course at WSU to fulfill a credit where Bryan was the TA, only because of her dad's comment about thinking he knew the connection between them but wasn't ready to share yet. (People at my university did this with neighboring colleges so it isn't unheard of in my own experience.) That or he could have been a regular at somewhere that one of the girls worked and began stalking them. Those are just my guesses on what the connection would be, outside of my craziest guess, which is a murder-for-hire plot by the neighbors because of the noise complaints. I highly, highly doubt that that is the case but it crossed my mind. I don't know how they'd ever connect with a criminology student to carry out the murder for them but I guess crazier things have happened.
I believe this was his first semester there so I don't think being in his class would've been possible. I don't think she'd have been done with the class yet and she had already moved back home.

US Law Question

IF or when, the Probable Cause Affidavit is released today (US time) ….. when does Law Enforcement have to start handing over their evidence and proof to Anne Taylor, Council appointed, for the defendant ????

Does that start today?? Or later down the track????
As soon as Ms Taylor files her motion for discovery which I'm sure she has prepared and ready to go!

Wakey, Wakey Inmate! Your days in court are about to begin. 5:30 am there. I believe I read yesterday that court could begin at 7:15 am, (which sounds early to me but maybe to accommodate everyone, etc.) Based on my knowledge most inmates are woken up between 5 and 6 am to begin their days. I can imagine that court house and the jail below are already buzzing with activity. Let's see what surprises today may bring.

Moo
Sometimes when a suspect has been named, I feel the “OJ effect” take over- immediate concern- doubtish -fear feeling - that this particular killer could be set free -back living amongst us not because the evidence wasn’t there and they didn’t do it but because amazing evidence wasn't brought to light/ inadmisable or mishandling - rights or procedural violations occured etc , perhaps better representation. For whatever reason “ the oj effect” is a bad feeling

-i hope LE has a tome of evidence. Moo

Idaho murders – update: Bryan Kohberger to appear in court today

He was booked into Latah County Jail on four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary.

Mr Kohberger will make an initial appearance before the Latah County Magistrate Court judge on Thursday and will be served his arrest warrant.

After that, the probable cause affidavit is expected to be released – a document that will cast light on what evidence led investigators to the suspect.

if BK really did kill those four students, I am sure he can’t even hear people talking to him or the noise around him. I’m sure his mind is consumed with pictures in his head of the horrible things he has done. I can’t imagine this not haunting him the rest of his life. It is so demonic.

As soon as defense makes a written request everything the prosecution has on him must be handed over to the defense, all the photos, digital files, witness lists, recordings, any tests or examinations, everything.
Including any exculpatory evidence which is a Brady violation to not share.

Unless they get a change of venue, he is not. The Latah county jail, where he’s being held, is in the basement of the courthouse.
If the judge projects a lengthy trial they’ll continue to hold him in that jail cell? Just not used to the idea of a small county jail holding a quadruple murder suspect ( likely going to need 24 hour attention and 4 to 5 guard escorts) through an entire trial.

No offense to Moscow and the county.

I’m going to say he’ll be transferred as soon as we get a firm trial date and projected length.

When someone’s brain doesn’t function normally, they often don’t “feel” things the way the average person would. For some murderers, they don’t feel anything about what they’ve done in terms of remorse, etc.

Hello - Can't believe I watched here for hours yesterday, tracking that plane and then fell asleep for the landing! Anyway...

I find it so peculiar that the FBI seem to have directed LE to pull BK over to get a look at his hands. Are we assuming that the DNA evidence was not available on Dec 15th? What link did they have at that point, the car alone? Surely if they had DNA at that point, they wouldn't have needed the additional evidence of cuts on his hands?
Kind of makes sense I guess that the DNA was after this because that's likely what gave them enough probable cause to arrest.

FBI asked police to pull Bryan Kohberger over to get images of hands: report

he looks every bit of 6 185 imo. His forearms were well defined as compared to the hunk cop the winemoms love. Also those jail shoes are like walking barefoot. In boots he'd look 6.2
I still struggle to understand how he expected this would play out. If LE hadn't gone the genealogy route right away, it's possible the investigation would have dragged on a while longer, but surely BK didn't think (1) that he would be able to murder four people indoors without leaving DNA or (2) that his DNA would go unidentified for very long, right? That's part of the reason I'm so impatient for the trial to unfold (in addition to very much wanting to see justice done) -- I can't help but feel that he expected to be apprehended, but possibly not convicted?
That and one of the earlier comments said he allegedly said “This is going to be a long trial” or something like that. Made me feel like he planned that or something? Maybe the game of getting off without conviction is his goal? Just IMO. I’ll see if I can find the comment.
