Yeah, that was me who posted the picture of the Dickies brand balaclava. It was a complete and total guess on my part that BCK possibly purchased a Dickies brand balaclava and removed the tag, especially if it was on the throat part of the mask. To me, that would be a VERY identifying mark where a potential eyewitness could say, "He was wearing a mask with a tag on the throat area." That's why I think he would take the extra step to remove it. And like I said in my previous post, LE thought it important enough to collect as part of their search of his apartment.

Here's a close up of the tag I'm talking about. Looks fairly easy to remove.

I know nothing about this really, but I'm of the impression that specialist investigators would be able to trace a tag, if it has been cut off a piece of clothing like a balaclava, back to the item it was removed from, the batch and possibly even which outlet it was purchased from. MOO

I can honestly say I sometimes do at 4 in the morning, but that's because I go to work around then. Sometimes with gloves if it has to do with my cats, but I would never be rude enough to put that in my neighbor's bin.
I can't say I'd never ever use a neighbor's bin. But I can say when I've lived in most apartment buildings, units did not have individual bins. There was a dumpster for the building or maybe for 2-3 buildings. Looking at BK's building photos, having individual bins seems odd to me.

But they did not seize any articles of clothing. That Dickies receipt is interesting, although how stupid would he have to be to save a receipt for murder coveralls? Hopefully the UPC code is indicated on the receipt showing what the Dickies item was. If coveralls, and if not present in the apartment, that would be interesting.

I recall a case (Jason Young) where articles of clothing (and possibly shoes) which were not found were part of the evidence used to convict a killer.

Black rubber glove. Just one? Things of that nature drive me crazy. It’s as though he taunting police.
Or it could be that you guys want to give this guy a lot more credit than he deserves.....?

I know a few people with PhDs that can barely get themselves around a city without getting flustered. Or can't organize an event. Or are really good at talking about what they studied but struggle when applying the work.

A lot of the 'Maybe Bryan didn't do it!' it folk (not saying you) base their entire theories on the redemption genius stories they love seeing in movies. They just don't like the ending of this one.

This bin is at his parents home in Pa, single family homes, gated community.

The FBI observed BK putting trash in his parents neighbors trash receptacles in Pennsylvania, not at his apartment in Washington State.

Potentially. And, if LE were/are lucky enough to find the actual mask itself (assuming the tag was from that article of clothing), they could definitely tell if a tag had been removed from it, or not.

Again, LE felt that the tag had enough evidential significance to collect it during the search of his apartment. To me that means something.

DO we know it was a fabric tag that had been sewn onto the mask and not the cardboard tag that said Dickies that would be tethered to the mask next to the price tag? I had been picturing the hanging tag with brand name.

Going back to the background noise picked up by the neighbors camera in which a loud bang and dog barking were noted… if related, what do we suspect the loud bang was? The perp making his escape (or entry)? Or someone/thing being thrown about inside the house? And if the bang was loud enough to be captured by the neighbors camera feed then wouldn’t the roommates at the very least have heard something like that? I’d also be curious to know if the camera had a motion sensor that triggered the recording or if it’s just continuously monitoring.

Just thinking out loud / JMO
This has always struck me as odd as well. Survivor D mentioned other sounds obviously in the house, but didn't mention hearing a dog barking or a thud. I believe those noises were not inside the house. (Great avatar and name btw; one of my faves!)

The sound was described a 'thud'. IMO it was a body hitting the floor or a wall.

There's been leaks and reports of 'rummaging' sounds like someone robbing a house that have not been attributed to DM. So you do the math on what roommate #4 heard.

IMO we're going to find out that the narrative of 'everyone was sleeping' actually meant that most of them were in their bedroom, awaken and trying to make sense of what they were hearing and what exactly was going on.

Reportedly in PA.

I'll add speculation to WA. I think they were watching him there for at least a week. IMO.

His car was locationed at his apartment on Nov 29, it wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t longer then a week. I wonder if he picked his dad up from the airport if LE thought he was flying out.

Yep I believe it was
  • White Hyndai Elantra
  • Height and build close
  • Bushy Eye Brows
  • Recent Plate Change to WA
  • Noting that PA plates don't require front
  • Traffic stop in the neighborhood of the house in August
All things noted and attribute to that day.

That's probably enough to drive by and get a visual on the guy and dig deeper. I bet when the FBI found out what he was studying he quickly become person of interest #1 if he wasn't already.

Then 3 weeks of stuff we won't know about until trial. But we know it was enough to get a warrant for cell tower data.

If he threw that knife out the window somewhere along the way between the murder site and his apartment, how on earth can they ever expect to find it? I just picture him, speeding along, tossing it out in the shrubbery. How long would it take to search 10 miles of road shrubbery?

ETA: And did he cross over any bodies of water?
Definitely the Mississippi at the very least! But tossing it out the window with your dad right next to you strikes me as more than a little awkward...

He took the loooong way home, which was about 35 miles (check out Moscow to Gennesee, ID then to Uniontown and Johnson, WA, and finally home to Pullman). He had plenty of opportunities to get rid of the weapon and I think that's why he took that strange route home.

It will likely be someone walking their dog years in the future who eventually discovers the weapon, if he did toss it out his car window. It's always like that!

IMO he had the spot picked out for the knife and the clothes weeks or months before he went through with the murders.

But then again....he made mistakes in planning and at the scene during the crime. So tossing it out the window at a McDonald's drive thru isn't even a stretch at this point.
