Idaho Murder Suspect 'Complied Right Away' and 'Knew Exactly Why He Had Been Arrested': Source
Bryan Kohberger, 28, was arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with the killings of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves
"He complied right away," says a police source who was part of the extradition process. "He knew exactly why he had been arrested. There was no 'What did I do?' There wasn't any 'You've got the wrong guy.'"
Instead, the police source says, Kohberger largely remained silent, offering up few clues to his state of mind. "He made small talk, but nothing really of substance."
Kohberger was read his Miranda rights during his arrest, and cannot be questioned about the case without an attorney present. He didn't speak directly to officers about the case, but the police source says that he did make an offhand comment about it.

Since then, questions have persisted around why the caller reported an “unconscious individual” when officials described the crime scene as one of the worst they had ever seen.
A potential reason for the mysterious 911 call has now been revealed in Air Mail’s article “The Eyes of a Killer”.
Civilian employees at Whitcom 9-1-1, an agency in Pullman, Washington, handle the 911 calls to the Moscow Police Department as well as several other agencies, according to the report.
The agency is severely understaffed to such an extent that the dispatchers’ guild has previously warned that “our ability to uphold public safety is at risk”.
Under standard protocol, when callers “are agitated” the dispatcher will often assign the call with the generic label of “unconscious person” rather than waste valuable time and resources trying to gather specific details.

ABC News correspondent Kayna Whitworth has extensively reported on the Moscow murder investigation. In an exclusive interview with 4 News Now, Whitworth said the 20/20 special will spotlight the victims’ parents, and include testimony from Madison Mogen’s father.
“When I sat with some of Kaylee and Xana’s friends the other night, there was a lot of laughing and shared stories, and there were a lot of tears,” she explained. “Steve and Kristi Goncalves have been at the forefront of all this. They’ve become pillars of strength in that community. Also, in our 20/20 special you’ll really hear from Madison’s father for the first time.”
Kohberger was a Ph.D. student in the criminology department at Washington State University when he was arrested. According to Whitworth, his educational background was not a surprise to investigators.
“It was really surprising to learn that he was so highly educated,” she said. “But one police source I spoke with said it wasn’t surprising to them as they were going through this investigation.”
