A while back there was discussion of the other two unsolved cases where people were stabbed/killed in their sleep in Salem, Oregon and a small town nearby. Both of these towns are not far from the Vancouver campus of Washington State University. As a doctoral students, it very possible he visits other campuses. I think they’ve connected him all along and have simply been looking for him.
Those other 2 cases have been haunting me, especially the young couple. They weren't on college campuses tho

Stupid question:
Does anyone know the location of the original screenshot of the Elantra ? I think it was a very fuzzy pic from LE.
Was it from Taylor Rd?
Thx

You know, that was my first impression, too. But now I wonder…with his online history looking for perps (per his research questionnaire)…was he looking for somebody to help push him over the edge? I never did think there was an accomplice and saw this guy as a welder or something, so definitely off the mark there…though security guard does fit the stereotypically “masculine” profession I’d guessed, I suppose. So now I am wondering for the first time whether there is an accomplice of some sort?
I doubt an accomplice. A scapegoat, maybe? But BK is probably very proud of what he did. I doubt he would want to share credit. I think he wants to be like OJ. He wants everyone to know he did it so he can go on talk shows to promote the " If some other dude did it, wink wink" book.
(Joking, MOO)

If they matched his DNA it would have to be in an existing database right? so I wonder which database it was in and why was it in there.
Not necessarily. They might have had him on the radar as a suspect, pulled some of his DNA from discarded trash (or a cup or napkin he walked away from at a restaurant), and matched it to DNA from the crime scene.

From the beginning of this case on WS
- many thought he was a student, some an older student others believed around the same age as the victims
- it was mentioned by some that he could be a student at U of W
- many thought he was male
Thoughts which maybe determined at a later date:
- many thought he was known to the victims but not in the inner circle
- many thought thought he was resentful and/or jealous of the victims
- many thought he knew the layout of the house
- many felt he was rejected by Kaylee or Maddie
- some believed it was Kaylee’s stalker
- some believed Kaylee was the target :(

I hope we find out the answers to better understand these horrific, senseless, and repulsive murders!
Excellent summary!

I can't keep up with the threads so please forgive me if this has already been posted. Lots of useful links, IMO.

I wonder if LE was asking for tips from the public for "tips to provide context" was because there was another innocent individual who might have been seen in the car with him that night. That could have been the basis for his question of "Was any one else arrested" I wonder if anyone rode back across country with him. MOO MOO MOO
JMO, there was another guilty person with him. It’s almost as if he is implying that there is someone else.
When asking if someone else was arrested, assuming it's not a ruse, he could also be referring to anybody who aided him after the crime rather than during the crime.
iMO or both. I’m just not 100% on this guy yet

There’s nothing suspicious about someone being a grad student. The theory that I saw here, (if I remember rightly,) was that it was someone who wasn’t in school, but was clinging on to student life, anyway.

MOO
True, though he wasn’t a student at Idaho, maybe he had some attraction to the Idaho campus and was hanging around there. Whether he started lurking at ID and then found the housemates or found the housemates first, we don’t know yet.

Victims arrived at King Road house: around 1:45AM
Estimated time of murders: between 3 and 4 AM
Timeline Link: Idaho college murders: Timeline of events

"Online records indicate Kohberger appears to have been pursuing a doctorate in criminal justice at Washington State University in Pullman, less than 10 miles from Moscow."
Link:

"Idaho murders: Police serve search warrant at Bryan Christopher Kohberger's home in Pullman, WA" Link: Idaho murders: Police serve search warrant at Bryan Christopher Kohberger's home in Pullman, WA

Pullman is 15 min away from Moscow according to google maps.

The time difference between K&Ms' arrival and the estimated time of murders is about one hour. Any updates on how the suspect might have known when K&M arrived at the King Road house that night?

Also, remember LE was checking for footage east of Moscow near Troy and Kendrick? Was this the escape route? Link: Idaho murders: Investigators traveled at least 24 miles to collect surveillance video related to the killings

When this crime first hit the news, I was terrified. I told myself, no way he would be in PA. It’s too far from Idaho, too far … until it’s not.

I’m looking forward to the details if he knew any of the victims personally or if he has a co conspirator. I hope we learn more from the press conference.

Friday's sensational arrest is the first major break in the case - with Kohberger asking if 'anyone else was arrested' when he was taken into custody.

Kohberger has no prior arrests, according to public records, so it is unclear how officials got hold of his DNA.

My .02 is that the "...if anyone else was arrested...", is a red herring to try to throw suspicion off himself.
With his background in criminal justice, I wonder if he'll act as his own attorney ?
Ted Bundy did the same.
Spoiler alert (not really ): It didn't work for him !

And if BK is convicted, hopefully it won't work for him either !

Lawrence Rosenberg said on social media that he knew Kohberger, who said they attended Monroe County Technical Institute together for a few years before Kohberger left in 2014.

Rosenberg said Kohberger knows a lot of people in the Poconos area and would get together with friends at Indian Mountain Lakes.

”He was always a strange person,” Rosenberg said.
[snip]
Boyce Jubilan, associate professor and chair of DeSales University’s psychology program, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that news of Kohberger’s arrest was a “shock.” He was a research supervisor to Kohberger in the late 2010s, and said he was “a little awkward with his peers” and “liked to work alone.”
Suspect in killings of 4 Idaho college students arrested in Poconos; was DeSales University grad with criminal justice degree

The Bolded red by me doesn't surprise me one bit and I believe it. That is why I don't think we will learn that there are any further arrests anticipated, despite BK's reported comment upon being taken into custody.
Agree. A lot of us guessed he was a loner/social outsider who would give off a strange/creepy vibe. I’d be surprised if there are further arrests.

If the suspect has no prior arrests or other involvement in criminal activity, he probably passed the clearances needed to work in a public school system. It’s been a number of years since I was in graduate school, but I don’t know if currently grad students anywhere have to file for FBI checks or clearances that public schools require. This case may spur changes in that area, although if he was not on the LE radar, clearances wouldn’t have been an issue. However, his fingerprints should be in the federal system because he was a school security officer in PA. That may well be what nailed this guy, if he left a print somewhere.

Graduate students may occasionally travel to other campuses for a conference, but for the most part, they are busy on their own campus taking classes and teaching or assisting in undergraduate courses. Grad assistanceships usually offer some stipend along with tuition, so grad students rarely have the money to do a lot of traveling.

There are a couple of possibilities about where the suspect went after the murders. He could have been required to be on campus for grading finals in the courses in which he was TA—although so much college work goes onto online platforms, it’s possible he could “work” from anywhere. The timing of the crime may have been influenced by his not living in or near Moscow and perhaps his plan to drive to PA where no one would suspect him. In a way, it’s a truly stupid plan to cross state lines to commit mulitiple murder because…. Hello, FBI. But here I am doing all the ”it’s possible” and “maybe” and “may have been” and “perhaps” that has driven me crazy with the social media theories on this crime.

That said, I hope everyone here and elsewhere who has complained about the police response on this case is re-thinking those opinions. We all watch too much 60-minute TV, where police solve a case seemingly overnight. At the same time, we read on WS and watch true crime docs where it’s clear that it sometimes takes months or YEARS to solve a major crime. But here we are, about 6 weeks into this, and LE has tracked a killer across the country and made an arrest that we can hope will hold up because they got their ducks in a row to arrest this guy and prosecute him. Kudos to every agency that worked this case and solved what looks like a stranger murder.
At Ohio universities, students studying in colleges of education must provide both a current Ohio BCI and FBI background check before beginning any field work in preK - 12.
