Brian Nickerson, the fire chief of the Moscow Volunteer Fire and EMS Department, said police were the first to arrive at the home. The first responders from the fire and EMS department didn't go inside or transport anyone from the scene, Nickerson said.

That is telling IMO

I think it is a pretty safe assumption that the two survivors either had a separate locked door to the floor they were in or a lock on their bedroom doors and they were locked on that night. I am a Realtor and a lot of homes in college areas I show that have one or two floors have a main entrance and living area but a locked door to either the hall leading to their rooms especially by the stairs, or locks on their bedrooms. Maybe the victims did not have their doors locked bit the survivors did. That would make sense as to why the survivors were on a common floor. I asked my my daughter who is at at a large university (Michigan State) living off campus and always has her airpods in so she can sleep at night and not hear the partying and she said hears nothing when sleeping and if she does unless it sirens or here cats she ignores it, because people are crazy when partying. Sometimes she does not leave her room all day on weekends if she is not in the mood to socialize. Thus why they may have not realize what happened. MOO
Agree with this.I own a home that was formerly student housing. When we moved in, every single bedroom has a deadbolt on the door.Kids have thousands of dollars of tech these days in their rooms. Locking your doors and creating your own oasis seems pretty reasonable to me.

I wish they were more clear with these statements. What is this "one of the roommates cell phones" supposed to mean? It raises more questions than it answers.
It means the call came from one of the roommate's phones, but they are not saying who made the call. It might have been a roommate or It might have been someone else. All they can say is phone x is the one the phone call came from.

Is anyone good with maps?

Detectives are seeking all outside surveillance video taken from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday November 13, 2022, from businesses and residences in the following areas.

o West Taylor Ave (north boundary)
o West Palouse River Dr (south boundary)
o Highway 95 south to the 2700 block of Highway 95 S (east boundary)
o Arboretum & Botanical Garden (west boundary)
I recollect reading there’d been an alcohol incident involving the 911 at 3 am on Taylor’s ave

How many social media sites did these teenagers use ? Has each and every one been checked?

I agree... But when you think of the shock, blood, and probably even the smell of all of it in the air it really doesn't surprise me how it could almost paralyze someone. Then you look at the timeline and brutality of it, the bodies had to be grayish blue at that point. I remember when I was 22 maybe 23 and I called 911 for this kid that od on heroin at a party. This kid was gray pale and not breathing. Thought he was dead. Ambulance came and he survived. I wouldn't even want to imagine what this scene looked like 8-9 hours after all this.

Scary stuff

It's all awful.

I do think it would probably have been best to just continue not saying anything about the 911 call.

They are worried about one or both of these? (BBM)
CIRG will deploy investigative specialists to respond to terrorist activities, hostage takings, child abductions and other high-risk repetitive violent crimes.
The CIRG is designated to formulate strategies, manage hostage or siege situations, and if possible resolve them "without loss of life",

MOO
Righto. This crime as we know so far is not in thise parameters. Does a potential exist for more mayhem?
What’s up?
So- IMO- it’s particularly alarming that they are there as the Unit exists and specializes in a very distinct kind of threat. Not typical, even for a multiple murder investigation.
I find the implications of that team’s involvement very concerning. Glad they're there; wouldn’t be unless a potentially unusual threat exists, IMO.

I can’t even begin to imagine what the scene entailed, nor do i want to do so. I know that Moscow, Idaho isn’t exactly murder central and that some of the authorities working the scene and making these statements aren’t used to seeing shocking murders on a frequent basis. But these are still lawmen who have had (presumably) long careers and have worked murder scenes before. The FBI agents there have definitely seen some horror shows in their day as well. And when these people are making statements about this particular scene being unlike anything you will see again in the future, it just defies logic and belief what must have happened inside. I was thinking sights of arterial spray, pools and streaks of blood, etc., but it sounds even worse than that.

And it boggles the mind that this level of savagery was inflicted on college kids. You think of organized crime hits, drug gang murders, or maybe the random one-off psychotic killer murder as containing the level of brutality that was apparently present here. What could ANY of those kids ever done to evoke that level of rage inside anyone they were acquainted with? I mean, to leave a crime scene that gory and unbelievable, a person would almost have to be on a whole other level of psychotic and angry than even your average spree or revenge killer. The whole thing is not only incredibly sad and tragic, but just unbelievable from a pure humanity standpoint.

I’m still curious if someone watched the house. Loud noises. Partying, etc. Perhaps because I have someone who watches mine. Now used to it. Was it a local? I have to turn on floodlights, cameras, all of it. And it seems it’s never enough until I put all floodlights out. Theirs is a house easily visible via neighbors.
At times like this, I want all new window blinds and more lights and security on my own home. smh Dang, it's an evil world out there.

If the police mentioned early on it wasn’t the roommates and E’s mom has said a friend made the 911 call and we know E was supposed to meet up with a friend the next morning-I think it was the friend who called. He came over to get Ethan, maybe yelled help or something and one of the girls came out to see what was happening. What is eerie to me is that the girls locked their doors because they heard what sounded like a party…..

It sounds like a friend came to check on them and knocked on the door/ rang the bell. The roommates from downstairs came up and answered- and they told them- Hey we can’t reach our friend. So they went further inside and saw one of the bodies and called 911.
Nothing sus about that at all to me IMO. They would assume passed out drunk unconscious before stabbed to death If they saw a person on their stomach. It sounds like they rendered aid- maybe dispatcher just didnt update to stabbing.

Are you thinking there was a doorbell somehow attached to the sliding glass door on the 2nd level? I’m curious as to why the downstairs roommates would walk up stairs when the actual front door is outside their bedrooms? Wouldn’t friends and visitors of the downstairs roommates knock or ring the bell on the door located on their level? Anything’s possible at this point….

The thing that stands out the most to me, is that this is literally the plot of every horror movie made… Attractive female victims, BF hooking up/wrong place wrong time… This is the plot of every Halloween Michael Myers movie, coincidently, one was just released a few weeks prior…

So surviving roommates leave in morning give there phone to friend to call 911 8 hrs later? Its been posted they heard a “party” and locked doors but this is too much! Sorry imo moo something just not right here
Do we know if the roommates were there when 911 was called? I've seen reports that they were and reports that they left and went about their day.

The news on this story seems more convoluted than usual. This story was updated, and the police still state that this was a "targeted attack", and the community is safe.
I took the day off from the forums and this jumped out at me. They keep insisting it’s a targeted attack but the community is safe…maybe they found something that points this specific house/victims were the targets. A hand drawn map left behind…something.

The involvement of the CIRG just made me believe my incel theory more. IMO. I hope it’s not the case. I hope LE is keeping an eye on their forums.

What about this situation is like the extreme examples you’ve mentioned?
Likely this FBI CIRG Group is used in other ways since 1995
Or Am I missing something, do they have a subject holding off law enforcement with guns?
What I am saying is why is a that Team who specializes in those very extreme threats involved?
It is not normal, IMO.
