Thank you! I've been in the Rhoden / Gilley Murders for over six years. Nothing like this was permitted over there. We mapped everything. That's an amazing video. It looked like he wasn't flying down that one street, it's blurred on Google. There was a pic in the daily mail of one side of the home that was pretty bad. I just heard an interview from the parents. I think they are obviously in shock.

Edit: Did y'all notice that stools from the kitchen had been put in front of the slider on the 2nd floor? I saw the flier paid particular attention to the wall and some areas on that wall too.

That's wierd. The blood on the foundation is coming from a "vacant bedroom" on the second floor. Xana's room is identified as being on the other side of the house.

This doesn't make sense to me. I would expect the bedrooms to be carpeted. Would not the carpet soak up most, if not all, of the blood? I would expect it would absorb enough of it that it wouldn't run to the exterior the way it appears to have.

Personally, I am skeptical that the stains on the outside of the house are attributable to blood. They could be rust or mildew, or any other substances besides blood. That said, the rental photos of the house on Zillow show hardwood floors throughout the rooms. So, unless redecorating has taken place, probably no carpeting in the rooms to soak up blood.

Can anyone explain about the dog? Police said they located a dog at the residence who was turned over to animal control, and then picked up by someone taking responsibility for him. Does it make any sense that with all the friends that came over and the two surviving roommates that they would have allowed the dog to be turned over to animal control? Can we then infer that the dog was missing and maybe that is what explains that last text from Kaylee to J about sharing a dog and asking him to come over? Was the dog missing and later found his way back to the house? But it makes no sense they would all go to sleep if the dog was missing. I’m finding this confusing.

If you look at all of the pictures of the inside of the house, it's all hardwood flooring... No carpets. Some are saying it wasn't blood, but it does make sense. And it was directly under the couples room.

IMO...it is likley linoleum that looks like hardwood...a common flooring in rentals. Cheaper, easy to clean and replace...IMO

It's identified as that on this. If you go back, they do say it was indeed the other one (not the one noted on the layout)

I wouldn't rule it out since it's just our speculations as to room assignments. Or even if someone was snoring or in a fight.

Hi, new member here.

Just wanted to add my two cents that it seems like they had a lot of fairy lights on the walls in different rooms of the house which I would imagine would make the house more visible inside. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that someone unfamiliar with the house would probably be stumbling in the dark but with all the fairy lights (presuming they were left on overnight) it might not have been as difficult to get around the house quietly. JMO.

If I was going to a house with a knife, with bad intentions I would have a source of light like a red led headlamp turned to its lowest setting for navigation to the entrance.
The fairy lights would illuminate the room even when the occupants were sleeping allowing a peeper an excellent view before entering if they were on at the time. Would be interesting to know if they were in use that night. I have used battery powered fairy lights to mark my tent when taking a night hike. It is actually crazy how much glow these small light weight strands give.

IMO...the press release only said that the dog was found "on the night of the incident" by LE at the residence and given to animal control.

Does that mean 12th/13th around the time of the murders or the night of the 13th, well after the investigation started? Not sure what they mean.....IMO

I can’t help thinking of the murder of Meredith Kercher. She had her throat slit in bed. The bed was a mess but IIRC the rest of the house was pretty clean? I could see it being possible for someone to do the same (x4) and keep it fairly contained to the actual beds.

I think dogs in that situation are just turned over to animal control right away because they need to get it out of the scene ASAP. They can’t really have the dog wait around while someone tries to get ahold of friends/family members (or in this case shared owner J) to come pick it up. They need to secure the scene immediately and that means removing the dog right then and there. AC can then look into the dog’s tags, see if it’s microchipped, etc.

Same. I mean, do they have the person who skinned the dog in custody and ruled him out of the house killings? Unless you know who killed the dog and who killed the students, there’s precious little I can think of that would lead you to definitively say they aren’t related

LE is not necessarilary intelligent. They are simply privy to the info. So they need science to do their jobs for them. Are they thoroughly searching the woods? I have personally witnessed state police search a tiny body of 8 foot deep clear water for a for a week with divers and side sonar. They were literally on top of the body that floated up a week after the gave up and declared him not possibly in the water. and it was about 5 feet from the last known location of the victim. I have little faith.

Either they saw a guy sitting in their car or they did not. Either he chased them or he did not.
Or is it blown off by LE because the guy ran off and they can’t find him?

I would expect young people to be jumpy, but disregarding calls would seem like a bad idea
The perp has not been caught and there is no description of the person, or a car.

From their explanation, I understood "unfounded" to mean not substantiated by direct evidence yet, and does not necessarily mean that it was a false report or made up.

I can't see any way that the perp is someone known to the victims. It has to be someone skilled with that type of knife, and someone who didn't go home to a house full of family or friends. They would have had blood on them, and in their vehicle.

It’s considered to be a dive bar (no offense intended!) that’s also a quintessential part of the Moscow college experience. I myself have fond memories!
