Nearly 20 years after he was freed from Idaho’s death row, a man wrongfully convicted of a 1982 murder in Nampa took another step toward justice.

On Tuesday, the Idaho Innocence Project at Boise State University announced that a certificate of innocence was signed for Charles Fain, a man who served 18 years in prison in the killing of 9-year-old Daralyn Johnson in 1982. The Idaho Innocence Project announced that a stipulated agreement was reached with the Idaho Attorney General’s Office.

The agreement means that Fain is officially declared innocent and is entitled to financial compensation for the wrongful conviction.

What the hell kind of bs "evidence" put this poor man on death row?? He still has not gotten compensation??

After nearly 40 years, DNA evidence connects man to the murder of a 9-year-old Nampa girl | ktvb.com

Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue and Canyon County Prosecutor Bryan Taylor announced that they have charged 62-year-old David Allen Dalrymple for the young girl's murder.

Law enforcement officials said the sheriff's office is holding off on serving the warrant until late summer for two reasons. One is because of the current COVID-19 health pandemic, and he is already serving time at the Idaho State Correctional Institution for a crime that he committed in 2004.

Dalrymple is currently serving 20 years to life in prison for lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under 16. He was also convicted of kidnapping, sexual abuse of a minor and second degree of kidnapping.
 
Shoot I got excited for a second, thought this was something new and that they had served the warrant. But thanks for posting this, from May 2020. I've wondered why we have heard nothing since then. I have so many questions about what happened. Was he ever a suspect? If not, why not? He lived in the neighbor hood. What really happened?

Finally!!

NAMPA, Idaho — Almost 40 years a 9-year-old Nampa girl was found dead, the man detectives say is responsible has been formally charged in her murder.

David Dalrymple, 64, is facing charges of first-degree murder and rape in the death of Daralyn Johnson, who disappeared on Feb. 24, 1982 as she walked to school at Lincoln Elementary.

Dalrymple is set for a preliminary hearing Jan. 25. If convicted, he could face the death penalty or another life sentence.
