Assuming that Lori moved to Rexburg so she and Chad could be together, which we're all assuming, but of course that makes Tammy's death and the subsequent alleged marriage that much more suspicious.

I think we know for sure Chad and Lori knew each other well before because they had been on multiple podcasts together and I think Lori attended end time prepper conferences where Chad spoke (maybe Lori spoke too, but I don't think so).

Not much else in Rexburg that would interest someone like Lori: She has lived in CA, (TX??), AZ, and HI. She could have moved anywhere, but why there?

Ok..this is very interesting. Unusually, when there is a death in anyones family, the Bishop and Relief Soc Pres are called and almost a phone tree takes effect with members of the LDS Ward you belong. This is your community both spiritually and socially. This throws a red flag that something has happened within this LDS Ward and Chad.

Sorry of course it was. It was the other incidents that were in Arizona, and it was Chad and Tammy who lived in Idaho. So do you remember Lori moving in with Chad? Also, do you know of any other paintball incidents with other people.

To my knowledge there were no other paintball incidents reported at that time.
Chad disappeared. We all thought he’d gone to Utah or somewhere because he couldn’t deal with the loss of his wife.

I am wondering if there is any significance to the fact that JJ was last seen on Sept 23rd, the day before Tylee's birthday. It just keeps nagging at the corner of my mind. That coupled with the seeming lack of exact date that Tylee was last seen.

They are hiding what has actually to the children - THEY being Lori and Chad. That's what I meant. I'm just noting that maybe the Venmo payments should be looked into since it seems to be a way she was communicating with her brother.

I imagine they are looking into those. To be fair, we don't know who had control of Tylee's venmo at that time. Or IF someone else always had control of it and merely set it up in Tylee's name, ya know? The Venmo is tied to a bank account, and that would be important as well.

The Venmo was between Tylee and Colby though wasn't it? Nothing to do with Lori and Chad. I misunderstood that, I thought you meant Colby and Tylee were hiding something. I am sure (hope?) LE are aware of the Venmo trail. MOO.

What I am thinking is the gun might have been real, and Tammy confused it for a paintball gun. No paintballs came out of it. If it were a prank with a paintball gun, wouldn't you actually shoot paintballs out of it? Maybe somebody was trying to actually kill Tammy but weapon jammed?

So did you know Lori, Tylee and JJ and when it was that they first moved to Rexburg? When did Chad disappear and then return, presumably with Lori and kids ?

Technically we have no idea whether Tylee ever had anything to do with that account other than her name and a couple of uploaded pictures. A shell account under another name would be an easy way for someone(Lori) to transfer funds to her son without it being obvious which bank account or other source it was coming from.

I don't think Colby has any guilt in this, but I think Lori was up to all sorts of shenanigans, financial and otherwise, for reasons best known to her. MOO

Looking at Venom timeline...pmts from Tylee "might" tie to a Go Fund Me within the family. I am thinking this whole thing is a clue if we follow the money.

Devil's advocate: Suppose I have a young child. I also have relatives who I don't get along with because (whatever). I'm not abusing or neglecting my child in any way, but I don't allow my relatives to see the child because I don't get along with those relatives. The relatives decide to call the police and claim they're worried about my child, even though I'm innocent of any wrongdoing. If I refuse to let the police see the child, am I in fact committing a crime?

This whole situation is really disturbing, especially because of all the side details that have arisen about Lori and all the people around her and her family who have died. But if you look at it from a legal standpoint, apart from lying to the cops about where JJ was, have they actually done anything illegal that can be acted upon?

No, you wouldn't be committing a crime, but you'd surely be high on police radar if anything ever happened to the child. And the laws proposed are not about criminalizing behavior at our front door. However, a parent who failed to bring a child to the door during a welfare check, whose child then was missing would be in very hot water (as they should be). The laws in other states provide that parents are required to inform the police if their children are missing/unaccounted for. That we even need such laws or have such concerns is mind-boggling in a civilized society.

In the example you give, the people calling for a welfare check could be anyone. Are you saying that the police should do extensive investigation of who made the call before they perform a simple welfare check? We don't have the resources for that, but I believe welfare checks on children are an essential police service. Sometimes the calls come from the kids themselves, while they are at school or from a friend's cell phone.

At any rate, if I had relatives or neighbors who had a grudge against me and were using welfare checks to harass me, I'd deal with that by contacting the watch commander and making an appointment to go in. Then I'd go to court to get a no contact order with those relatives. I'd keep that paperwork at the front door. If the police came at any time during normal waking hours, and my children were home, yep, I'd have them come say hi. Where I live, neighbors harass neighbors with techniques like this regularly enough that the police are well versed in how to get it taken care of.

Sadly, right now, there's very little that can be done (even about the lying).

Valentina is the face on the cover of Chad's book, "Chasing Paradise." It took her by surprise when earlier this year her family saw Valentina's picture in the bookstore.

"September was the last time that we got a response from him at all," Valentina said.

She said he didn't reply to messages after that.

Devin pulled out his phone to look up the last text.

"He said, 'Thanks so much.' This was on Monday, September 23 of 2019," Devin said.

There has been talk of Chad's standing within the Mormon Church, but what about Lori's?

I read on WS that she was born Mormon and Tylee's FB from 2017 appears to have a Mormon temple as one of her profile pics.

I'm not LDS, so not familar, but 5 marriages would require all sorts of hoops, counseling and pleading to remain within communion in the Catholic Church.
