The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of a 73-year-old Lucile, Idaho, woman who has been missing since around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Marsha Hayes was last seen with her dog, Maggie, at the Riggins Blue Tick Coffee kiosk. She never made it back home to drop off the coffee that she had bought for her husband.

Idaho County Sheriff Doug Ulmer said deputies began searching the riverbanks Thursday and following up on possible sightings. By mid-day the search included drone flights over the area, Ulmer said.

Her dog, Maggie, is a black and white female Australian shepherd. Hayes was driving a green 2006 Acura with Idaho license plates.

Early this morning, evidence of a crash was located on Highway 95 at milepost 197.5, which is just north of Riggins, Idaho.

Several vehicle parts and a license plate located along the river were confirmed to belong to Marsha Hayes.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office is no longer looking for her vehicle and will be focusing recovery efforts from the river as conditions allow.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office would like to send their thoughts and prayers out to Marsha’s family as they navigate this difficult time. :(

Marsha’s car and her body have been recovered from the Big Salmon River. :(

IDAHO COUNTY, Idaho - The Idaho County Sheriff’s Officehas recovered the car and body of an Idaho woman from the Big Salmon River, who had been missing since May.

Any news about Maggie the dog? I hope she can be found as well, with an outcome better than that of her owner. RIP Marsha.
Upon recovery, it was discovered that her service dog, Maggie, was not in the vehicle. We ask the community to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Maggie, as she may have survived the accident.
