Hi, I'm an investigative reporter for local news based in Harrisburg (Also covering Lancaster, York, Lebanon and nearby counties from Mifflin to Franklin). If you know of any crimes, corruptions, unfair trials, cold cases, anything suspicious or bizarre that are related to the aforementioned areas, and no news outlets have covered or covered enough, please contact me. Our TV station does occasionally cover crimes near Philadelphia, too, in case you have something near Philly. I am new to this forum, so I'm not sure if I receive messages here. If so, please message me or reply to the thread. Thank you very much!

I forgot to add that I am based in Pennsylvania, covering Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Lebanon, and nearby counties from Mifflin to Franklin. Please let me know if there's anything that should've been in the news, I'd like to do a story on that.

Thanks for your post! I don’t have a map handy, and I am curious if you cover the Allentown area?

Hi, IDK. Thanks so much for the response. Feel free to share anything with me and I can see what I can do.
Speaking of Allentown, I would personally like to follow up on Brian Kohberger, a PA native whose hometown is in Broadheadsville, PA, which is closer to Allentown than my news area. He is currently charged for quadruple homicides in Idaho. I used to work for the police in Idaho and even visited the jail he is currently held in so it would be good case for me to follow as well, if anyone here has anything to share with me.
Here is a map that might tell you what area I usually cover, but it's not like a strict rule. Exceptions can be made.

C.Lin, if you select to “Watch” a thread, you can choose to receive email notifications when there is a new post on that thread.

Bryan Kohberger has a thread here at WS. I’ll try to link it for you. Otherwise, do a search with his name, with “Title Only” as a filter.

Welcome to Websleuths!

My relative, Orie Donald Esh, was murdered in his home in Mifflin Co. in 2001. The case is still unsolved.
Off to bump his thread!..

Thank you so much for the tip and the link. I'll do that. Thanks!

Hello, the circa early 2011 supposed murder / ‘suicide’ of Ellen Greenberg in Philadelphia is an interesting and somewhat IMO troubling case. IIRC there was an initial determination of murder, later changed under many believe unusual circumstances, to suicide? And multiple stab wounds involved. There is also a thread here in Websleuths for it. Welcome and thank you for the interest.

Thread 'PA - Ellen Greenberg, 27, Philly teacher’s brutal stabbing, ruled suicide but possible homicide, Jan 2011'

Wow, this is pretty crazy. Super sus! Found in a crawl space and not a foul play? It is worth more reporting.
Unfortunately, this happened in North Carolina. Unless it has a link or some connection to Pennsylvania, my boss won't let me report this story. I work for local news, that's why I am kind of limited to things linked Pennsylvania.

Giving you guys an update on my progress. I've begun a few cases that fellow web sleuths had told me about. So far, the frustrating part is the police's lack of interest in shedding lights on these cold cases via my humble local TV news.
Yesterday, I had Chester County detectives just down right hung up on me before I even uttered my questions. I only got to introducing myself without even able to say why I called.
"Hi, I'm a reporter with...." (phone disconnected).
Not sure if that's how police should act. I called back several times, and the person who was in charge of the phone clearly immediately turned off the phone.
Why do this without even knowing what I was trying to do?

What news organization are you with?

I'm in PA myself but unfortunately Jefferson/Clearfield county is way too far away from you. As to the above, might that behavior not be a news story in itself? Personally, I think people should be in the know on how their police behave.

Oh yeah, totally. I'm also in the process of reporting a case (not a homicide) where the law enforcement is abusing their power.
Oh, if anyone web sleuths here have police abusing their power (in PA), let me know, too.
@Lorenathered, please do still let me know what you have if you don't mind. By the way, reporting MMIW is also my personal mission and passion. I've reported about MMIW efforts when I worked in the Dakotas.

My two cents worth is to suggest looking into and reporting on cases with DNA evidence.
Those ones are often the first to be addressed (these days) by LE, imo, because of DNA's excellent potential to help identify a killer and/or, an UID body.

When media reports on these cases, it can generate public interest which can also drive funds towards cold case departments and testing of the DNA, LE will be interested then.. imo, speculation.

I have always wished there was more info on the Tamara Porrin case from DuBois, PA. Her case was quickly swept under the rug and she was written off as a run away. No one seemed to looked into why her parents never reported her missing, her sister did when she found out a year later. It was back in 86 though so I doubt much information could be gotten these days. It just always bugged me how no one looked into the parents who wouldn't report their own kid missing. I do believe her sister is still in the area though.
