CAROL STREAM, IL — A Carol Stream family is hoping the public can help them find their missing mother, who hasn't been seen since Christmas night. Catherine Ann Monckton, was last seen at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, according to a Facebook post from her son, Mark.

Mark Monckton wrote on Facebook that he has been searching for his mother "non-stop" since her disappearance and has filed a missing person report with the Carol Stream Police Department. She was last seen leaving her daughter's home on Penfield Drive.

Catherine Ann Monckton drives a 2014 black Toyota Corolla, license plate number V471553.

Monckton is 5-foot, 8-inches tall, weights 190 pounds and has gray hair and green eyes, according to police. She last was seen wearing a long, dark-green wool coat, gray shirt, black or dark jeans and black boots.

Police are looking for a 67-year-old woman who suffers from early stages of dementia and went missing Christmas Day in west suburban Carol Stream.

Catherine Monckton was last seen about 7:45 p.m. when she left her daughter’s home in the 700 block of Penfield Drive in Carol Stream, according to a missing person alert from Carol Stream police.

Praying she just lost her way and will return home safely. I wonder if she has a cell phone they could ping?

Uggg. I feel so bad that she has not been found yet. It is going to be -4 tonight. If she is stranded some where out of gas, I hope that some kind person finds her. Originally, I wondered if this was yet another suburban suicide in a local forest preserve as I know the holidays can be a depression trigger, but the dementia report makes me hopeful she is lost and will be found safe. Her son's facebook post is gaining traction, so hopefully someone will spot her black Toyota.

Her son has updated the Facebook post saying she was found. However, the Carol Stream Police Department page has not updated their post. Hopefully, confirmation will happen soon and she is OK.
