Okay, I am going to go OFF here for a minute!!!!!!!! :furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

ILLINOIS is the most liberal, twisted backward state - they think they can rehab everyone. There is MORE crime in Illinois and the Chicagoland area that they can't even hold their prisoners. Why do I know this do you ask??? Because this could have been my parents. My sister had a William Balfour baby daddy gangbanger type as well. And guess where he is now?? Well, first he was supposed to originally get 25-50 years on his original charges - long story short he ended up with 3 years. And guess what he hasn't even been locked up 6 months and they sent him to the bootcamp and plan on releasing him afterwards --- HOW do you go from 25-50 years to getting out bootcamp in less than a year???????????????? I HATE Illinois, I am so happy I live in the south where we actually strap these horrible people up by their ankles. I am FREAKED out when he gets out of prison because one of his charges against him was violating the restraining order my parents had against him and residential brugulary - he broke in while high on a drugs and stole my mothers purse and went on a spending spree-- in the middle of the night. EVERYONE, I have personally spoken with tells me this case reminds me of my family and what could happen. ILLINOIS needs new legislature and JUDGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People about Iraq but there have been more violent deaths in Chicago alone this year -- it is SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious::furious::furious::behindbar:behindbar

I am not an Illinois native so I won't be offended by comments about IL. It's a very corrupt state. The governor on down, including our lovely mayor. I've never experienced anything like it. It's as if it exists outside the laws of the US! Anyway, I'm pretty sure IL still has a moratorium on executions. Because there were a lot of flawed cases former Gov. Ryan commuted sentences to life w/o parole. I found this website, hopefully the info is still current:

I'm not going to get into my personal feelings about the DP. I'm in complete agreement with anyone who says parolees who violate should be back in jail, and people who commit horrible crimes should not be let out. In April my cousin in OR was murdered by 4 criminals in a home invasion while he was visiting a friend. Two were definitely on parole, the shooter and a woman accomplice for a previous manslaughter/murder. All had records. It's very frustrating to see this happening over and over and over again. If Balfour is the one who did this, I think the parole supervisor has some explaining to do.

There are several Bus Companies that service Chicago Public Schools http://www.cps.k12.il.us/parent/transportation/2007-2008/vendors.asp
It was mentioned that Julia worked for Sunrise. Because one school may have a Non-attendance day does not affect the entire District.
I just was wondering if the murderer thought that Julia may be home because it was a school day off in the distirct, and got frustrated .
Just going to state of mind...
My daughter is going to U. Chicago for her first year at grad school and she is telling me that the city is taking this very hard. "MOO" Because this tragic situation has became newsworthy, unlike the many murders that take place in the "murder capital of the U.S. "I can only hope that the police will do a thorough investigation, and examine all possible ties.

p.s. am frustrated at spelling frustrated.

On AC360 they stated that the family started the "Hudson-King Domestic Violence Fund" today. Let's hope that something positive can come of this crime, my thoughts are with them, as a mom I can not begin to imagine the agony the Hudson family is feeling. My heart is breaking for Julian, so much violence...It's just crazy...It makes me sick...

I just read NG's show transcript on the CNN Headline news website. Very interesting interview with Balfour's mother. She says he's never harmed anyone, even spins the carjacking back to the victim. However that doesn't make him guilty of this triple murder.
The Hudson/King case seems to have some big holes in it at this time. I hope CPD didn't botch this one.

She should have stayed quiet. The things she said were mangled half truths. Did she actually think she would get away with telling us he got 9 years for stealing a car?* She tried to pull that off until NG stopped her. She forgot to mention or at least I didn't hear the mom say a there was a guy on top of the car.
Another thing, when she said they were still together even though he had 2 gfs. Ack. Everything that happened to her son was someone else's fault. He was the victim of so many things, from having drugs planted in his car to having his rights violated.
Oy. Be quiet already.

I kid you not - this mother sounds like the mother of my sisters ex who is in bootcamp/prison in Illinois. It starts with the parenting people and parents like this enabler are not helping to contribute to a better soceity.

I am a lifelong local here, and this state is in the toilet. It's embarrassing to have a candidate on the national stage knowing how bad things are at home. This is what happens when one political party gets control of everything.

Re: the carjacking....I was listening to the local news, and Balfour rammed 3 different objects (2 fences and a telephone pole) to get the owner to fall off the roof rack. It's a miracle this guy survived....And it makes me sick that Balfour didn't get a life sentence for that crime.....

Yes, the guy had the nerve to try and stop someone from stealing his car.

The shots to the head indicate to me that this was an execution. I would not be surprised to find out there is gang involvement and more than one person was directly responsible for the murders/abduction. I do find it interesting the mother wasn't shot in the head, but in the torso (if that is the case). Does it show some kind of sympathetic measure on the part of the shooter or did he not have a clear shot since she had signs of defense wounds?

Did the person who stole the car and abducted Julian use the keys to the SUV? Where did he/she get them? I would have to assume they were not inside the vehicle at the time. Were they left at the scene? (Sounds like a DNA test and fingerprinting would be in order if they found them.)

I'm going with no clear shot...there was no sympathy with these killings.

I thought I would start this thread for little Julian. There is an article in the Chicago Tribune speculating that whoever has done this may have had some help. I was hoping maybe some of you sleuthers could maybe discuss this one, as it seems like a very odd crime for the person of interest to commit. I just hope LE does not get tunnel vison and will look at all possibilities. It has also been reported that little Julian's uncle was involved in some sort of drug activity, and that he was a victim of a previous home invasion.

Although Chicago police have only one known suspect in the slayings of three relatives of actress Jennifer Hudson, some evidence suggests that more than one person may have been involved, law-enforcement sources said today.

Investigators have focused on suspect William Balfour's movements on Friday, the day of the murders, as well as his conflicts with his estranged wife, Julia Hudson, and other members of the family. They are trying to determine whether another person drove Balfour to the West Side after the killings at the Hudsons' South Side home, sources said.

Witnesses said Balfour drove his teal Chrysler to the Hudsons' block Friday, arriving about 7 a.m. But later the vehicle was discovered by police parked about a mile away outside Robeson High School. Balfour's girlfriend told police that he was at her West Side home not long after the slayings of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and the Oscar-winning actress' brother, Jason, at their Englewood home, sources said.

The body of Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was discovered Monday morning in the back of Jason Hudson's Chevy Suburban, parked on a West Side street.

FYI so we don't get into trouble. The mods will swoop in quick if this thread turns into a political debate. I don't want to see anyone get spanked.

^^His name is James Payton (or Peyton) and he's a "maintenence engineer" in Chicago. They were together for 8 years but broke up about a year ago I think. Not sure if he has any kind of criminal record.

Thank you!

It surprising to me that Oprah, who has her studios in Chicago and is very famous and very rich seems to find security from all the crime. If this was a vendenta type crime, why Jennifer Hudson?

I believe Julia must be involved with drugs. That is my theory, these kinds of thugs usually do not murder unless there is a reason.

I'm with you on this one. I hope the FBI has taken over!
