The walk Jesse would have taken to get to the 4 Points Sheraton would have taken more than 10 minutes. Not sure why he would opt to walk back to the hotel on a break that only lasted 30 minutes.
Just from looking at a map, the two hotels were a considerable distance apart, at least in my opinion. Any route he would have to take to get from the Sheraton Towers to the 4 Points would have not been a straight, easy walk. It looks like Jesse would have had to walk through some tunnels to get to 630 Rush. That is not exactly pedestrian friendly, especially at 2:30 a.m. in the cold. I used to live in Chicago and I can't say that I had ever walked a route that took me through any of those tunnels (like lower Wacker Dr., etc.) at night, or even in broad daylight.
I don't think Jesse 's route would have been as well lit, bustling safe and easy as the articles on Jesse made it out to be.
Was it customary for the kids to walk from the 4 Points to the Sheraton Tower during this trip? Or did they take cabs?
I think if Jesse actually did walk from the Sheraton Towers to the 4 Points, he could have been jumped/met with foul play on that walk, especially if he were attempting to walk through some tunnels. That is not somewhere you want to walk in Chicago at 2:30 am.
Is it true that Jesse didn't say to anyone what he was doing on the break and that his friends just assumed that is where he went?
Is it possible he was intoxicated and got lost while attempting to walk to 630 Rush St? A lost kid not dressed for the weather at 3 am could be an easy target.
I don't know how LE can say he was not intoxicated just by viewing him on CCTV. He may not have been stumbling but he could have had enough to be vulnerable.
He could have gone into the water but why anyone would get near the river in the middle if the night in the freezing cold is beyond me.
I wish we knew how and where exactly those other men had wound up in the river. I am going to do some quick research to see what I can find.
