From what I've been reading, him wanting his dinner at a certain time, confronting the neighbor's wife for the husband hammering, he was a control freak. He probably found it easier to intimidate women and children than men. IMHO, what probably brought this to a head was his wife getting a degree. He wanted her home with the kids and that was it!

I know of someone who used to run his finger on top of the refridge when he got home. If it wasn't cleaned, the wife was in for a big fight. He wanted dinner ready and on the table the minute he got home from work.

Their marriage managed to make it through him cheating with the neighbor's wife, but when the wife got her degree, it was all over. He left her flat. The fact that he ended up marrying someone from his work tells me he was probably having another affair.

It's all about control. Poor Kimberly probably put up with a lot, not to mention the kids too. What goes on behind closed doors and all that. She probably never dreamed getting an education would cost her and her children their lives.

What a sad, sad, case.

Thanks JBean, for the explanation about extradition.

Fran, my #3 daughter just divorced a man like you describe after 16 years of marriage. His power hungry mode was different. In sufferable so and so.

What a day for seeing LE do a great job.

Also the fellow who filled in for LKL tonight, Ted somebody, had a person who knew how they found Jessie, Cutts led LE to the location of her body. Looked to me like the ground had been burned where the body was found, anyone else see the blackened spot on the ground where the was body was found?? AND AND she said that an old girl friend-friend of Cutts, helped him move the body!!!!
WHOAAAAAAAAAA.

.

Good Lord, I just heard about Vaughn's arrest on Geraldo. Geraldo is having a blast saying "these guys have to know that no matter how smart they think they are" they will get caught.

I wish that was the case in ALL cases. Like Michelle Young's case. And Lisa Stebic. :( I could go on...

Anyway, glad to hear of the arrest in this case today.

Poor Kimberly thought her degree would buy her freedom, and it bought her only death.

What a terrible story.

My husband, now ex was also a control freak that his family would never acknowledge. The 2 kids and myself put up with alot of his crap for way too long, but I had to wait until they were old enough to understand all that was going on (they were 12/13)....I used to tell my children, if anyone tells you that Im dead dont believe them unless you see me in a casket. I still think that Im lucky that his attention was diverted by my best friend--she decided that she couldnt live without him....was I lucky!! He still caused many problems with the divorce and afterwards though....took about 5 years for things to calm down. But my daughter did tell me-you never said anything negative about Dad considering all he did, why not? My response to her was, what good would it have done. I consider myself lucky that the kids and I are still alive.

I agree, the education was a problem. I wanted to get my Masters and my husband did everything in his power to prevent it....I never did get back to school.

I'm glad to see you got yourself (and children) out safely! I've been in a similar situation (my ex was a police officer). He threatened to put a bullet in my head if I left him; hmmmm...a bullet in my head or living in pure hell.....I took my chances and I thank God everyday that I made it out alive!!
Txmom...go back and get your degree!!! You deserve it!!!!

Good for you, that is something you should be commended for. It's so easy to rip the other person to shreds. My mother, who divorced my father twice, did the same thing, and when I asked her about why she never bad mouthed my Dad, she told me there was no need to, that I would find the things in his personality that drove her away, on my own, and I sure did. The great thing about it was she was never blamed for souring my opinion of my Dad, he did that himself. Your children are going to thank you for your insight in later years, and love you all the more for refusing to sow seeds of bitterness.

I'm sorry you didn't get to finish school and I hope you do one day.

You just made me wonder if that was one of the reasons she was so chatty with others...I mean I'm sure it's a genetic personality trait and all, but maybe she desperately tried to remain in contact with friends and family due to either being afraid of him or so, so lonely for outside contact. I bet he very much hated the social butterfly part of her personality and I bet you a million bucks he didn't want her to have any friends, and possibly they fought about it. I have a feeling we'll end up discovering an abusive side to their relationship as time goes by, he just sounds like that intimidating type.

I wasn't surprised by this arrest. I had just been waiting for it to happen. I just don't understand how he could have murdered his children. Did he look into their eyes as he murdered them or were they asleep? Did he say anything to them before he killed them? Probably not. Why the need to shoot them more than one time? I don't know how he can live with himself and how he could show up at the funeral home yesterday at the visitation. I'm so thankful that they arrested him before the funerals today. Kim's family must have known that he was the killer and then having to be around him and probably listen to him whine or lie. It was probably pure hell for them to even look at him.

I hope he gets the death penalty. I just wish it would take place sooner then most do. When a person is proven to be the killer through DNA and everything else they should get one appeal and that is it...then take them out as soon as possible. No need to support them for years.

This has so many aspects of Diane Downs. Didn't she also kill her 3 children and shoot herself?

What amazes me is that people who do these things actually think they are going to get away with the crime. That people are really going to believe their implausible story!!!

IMO.

I haven't got to get online since yesterday morning. After Bobbie Cutts confessed to killing Jessie, I told my husband now if Chris Vaughn gets arrested, I'll be a happy gal.

I'm a happy gal.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Were the murders ALL about power? Was that the angry motive?

Did he have another female, another life, or another child? IF IF that is possible, is it also possible that she is not aware of the events of the last week or so?

Would it 'violate' his rights to plaster his picture on every cable newscast for a week or so? So that others who know of his possible other activities would come forward?

Jack the obituary brought tears to my eyes. The little boy, and the girls showed such promise, wiped out so that this 'piece of work' can still breathe air.

What a SOB! How could you kill your kids? And your wife? What a beautiful family he had! I hope he's suffering from massive guilt.

That's the part that gets me too. Chris Vaughn does not aappear to be a stupid guy and I'll be that van and crime scene is LOADED with forensic evidence (that's actually the reason I was willing to accept his story until the evidence came back - it seemed insane for it to be untrue with so much evidence to look at)....it does, indeed, boggle the mind.

I'm fascinated as to motive too - he was a young husband and father...did he slowly over the years feel like he was missing out and this wan't the life he wanted? That coupled with a woman on the side and some financial stresses....did he just say, I want to start over?

Now how you justify that desire by deciding the best way to achieve it is to kill your family is beyond me....
