Saw a picture of her family entering the couthouse. Her boyfriend wasn’t here last week, but he is here now....

I guess everything we’re getting so far is just from opening statements, or will there be any witnesses called today or evidence presented (or does that commence tomorrow)?
Also, I wonder if any of the jurors show signs of being physically ill already from what they’ve heard (presumably these folks weren’t very familiar with details of the case ahead of time)?

I am really busy with work this week, but on Friday or early next week, I will try to go over to the Urbana courthouse and watch some of the trial. I’m not sure if the just let you walk in and out as you please, or if you can only enter when they are in recess. Due to my morning schedule, it will be hard for me to get there and get in the building before 9:00 AM, but I can wait around for a break and enter then if necessary....

Thanks in advance if you can manage to get there at some point.

Jury is taking its lunch break now. We've gotten through 3 witnesses so far, including the UIUC officer who first investigated Yingying Zhang's disappearance and a manager of the Champaign-Urbana Metro Transit District

Most notably, though, was testimony from Xiaolin Hou, Zhang's boyfriend, who described the "shock" and "terrible" feeling of learning his girlfriend had disappeared (matt Masterson,just now)

Hou and Zhang met while studying together in Sun Yat-sen University in 2009. They finished 1/2 in their graduating class and were planning to get engaged and married in October 2017.

Hou traveled with Zhang's family to the U.S. to search for her in the days after she disappeared. "We were searching for her all the time," he said. They looked in parks and abandoned houses, to no avail. "We'd never give up hope we'd find her," Hou testified. (same source, MM)

If you do not, let me know and I'll continue or between us we'll continue, trying to avoid repetition and stick to new information.. it does look like the defense are preparing this in an equally meticulous manner as defendant did. Poor sad broken down guy, marriage gone, g/f on a date, no friends, what else could he do except a beheading..normal thing to do if dumped.... he was not dumped, both Michelle and gf were still in relationship with him along with probably many others.. If BC said (as reported) that YY’s remains would never be found, then I’m guessin’ he managed to get them to either:
1) an incinerator
2) an abandoned mineshaft
3) a hog lagoon

You got LUCKY because poor YYZ had just arrived in the country, with broken English. You fell right into the FBI trap. This world has no use for people like you, but a tremendous need for people such as our poor beautiful girl who lost her dear and beautiful life because of YOU. I will sleep better tonight knowing you will never be prowling the streets of Champaign.

That was on the radio report as a quote from the wiretap at the vigil. He told TEB he was pretty good at this.

If this Jury doesn't sentence him to death, I'm going to tear my hair out....
