The arrest of RA came out of the blue. Since he wasn't on anyone's radar, that is enough for a lot of folks to think LE must have it wrong, and that they rushed to arrest. RI said long ago that when they caught the guy, LE had the evidence they needed for a conviction. I guess we'll see. Up to this point, though, the public has been far more eager and willing to string up innocent people in this case than LE has.
As of November 2022, NMcL stood before the court and said that they believe RA was the man on the bridge, and that they have good reason to believe he was not the only actor in the murders. I don't want to see an innocent man go to prison for a crime he didn't commit, of course, but we have absolutely no idea what evidence LE and the prosecution has for them to make those claims (other than the PCA), so I'm not personally comfortable dismissing the claims based on my own beliefs. What other evidence they have on RA, or if they still believe others are involved, only time will tell.
