I can't recall one of these pressers where the authorities reiterated that the suspect is presumed innocent so many times.

Well the truth is that he is innocent until proven guilty, no matter how many times it was said. IMO they are also speaking to any defense attorney that will take this case so it can’t be said that LE had tunnel vision.

Doug Carter literally said at the presser and this is a direct quote, "We are going to continue a very methodical and commited approach to ensure any that if any other person had any involevment in these murders in any way, that person or persons will be held accountable."

Does that mean others are definitely involved? No. Does it leave the door open to suggest there might be others involved? Certainly IMO.

If he thought others were involved, why didn't he give a scary speech like he did before with things akin to "we are coming for you" "you can run but you cant hide!"?

He did neither. If they thought RA could implicate others, they wouldnt have leaked that he's not copperating. IMO.

I'm 1000% convinced now he acted alone, this was a lucky break and nothing to do with kk.
Which is crazy town freaky and one of the craziest coincidences in a murder investigation I've ever scene.

we know one teen girl the one who did the first sketch and tried to talk to him and was traumatised.. it's been 6 years and she never met him?

I’ll have to watch it back to be 100% but I think it was only when the prosecutor started speaking that it was acknowledged there will have to be a hearing to make information about the the case public… before that Doug Carter rather emphatically said 2 or 3 times that eventually things will be revealed. I really hope that is the case and he wasn’t just saying whatever he felt he had to to keep the wolves at bay.

I’ve been following this case since it began. I’m very happy about the press conference. I am from the UK and having the state seal documents is the right way to go. I am overjoyed but also it feels very bittersweet.

I sadly agree. When they came out and said he's presumed innocent my thought was they don't have a great case.

I would not assume that is the case. The Prosecutors and law enforcement have to do everything possible to ensure he gets a fair trial and his conviction can’t be overturned on appeal if he is found guilty. There must also be concerns from law enforcement about the safety of his family. There will be a lot of anger in the community that he has been charged with the girl’s murders and he has allegedly deceived everyone by working and socialising around them for nearly six years. His family should not be put in any danger because of the charges against him. (We are not permitted to discuss his family and I do not want the thread to be locked).

No mention of charges of SA, disposing of evidence, tampering with a corpse (when he moved their bodies) etc you get my drift … can these / more charges come later?

Unfortunately it is likely these charges will be revealed publicly if and when the court documents are unsealed.

How would you describe the emotion he's projecting? I'm seeing defiance, anger, almost like he's challenging the photographer to FAFO. Certainly not remorse or guilt.

It is distressing and chilling to know that his face is allegedly the last face the girls saw and we finally know that he is allegedly the real individual the sketches we have been analysing for years are based on.

LOL! Too true. But I don't recognize my dentist in the streets. Because I associate him with his office. Weird but true. I wonder if people don't recognize a dangerous person where they dont expect it.

also this is just IMO & maybe I’m wrong… but I feel like his being so extraordinarily short would make him less likely to be viewed as threatening & so maybe not even on most peoples radar

I love the way LE handled this…no leaks, unlike the “sources” in QS case.

@Teche Agree with you 100%. I hope LE can keep this case clean and safe so RA will get a fair trial and be convicted. (I am bracing myself for overwhelming SM rumor and speculation between now and January court hearing.)

He may well have acted alone - we simply don't know and have zero tangible evidence to suggest either way. We can't rule out others are involved, the same way we can't rule out he acted by himself. If this case has taught us anything is that you really can't rule out anything.

If anyone else is involved and LE come out and say "We know this, this and this" that would put things in jeopardy. That person/persons could destroy any evidence they may still have or know of, flee, cover things up etc. It is clearly a very complex case, even at this stage.

Sometimes they'll follow a suspect to obtain DNA (dropped cigarette, drink straw, utensils, cup, etc).

Other times they'll take their trash. Once they receive a match they confirm via a mouth swab.

Taking him in on Wed and charging him Friday makes me wonder if the confirming with a mouth swab happened Wed. and it matched so they charged him Friday. It can be done fairly quickly can't it?
