I live in Fort Wayne, IN 1:30 min drive to Delphi......I have been heavily watching and reading everyday. This is crazy, maybe a long shot.....but things keep pointing to someone I am familiar with. The coat, the shoes, type of person this guy is loner no friends, his age he would be wearing a hip pack still....One thing after another keep making me think its possible.....but there are a few things that are make me think no way its not possible.....one main thing is that one of the images it looks like him the other it doesn't...due to his hair .....in one pic it looks like a hat , in the other like bushy brown hair.....the person I am suspecting has brownish hardly any on top in the front mostly gray with it longer out the sides and back with a hat on.... I have a picture of him and he's wearing black low top shoes like converse that have silver circles at each lace hole......problem I have as well is he has heart condition and I cant see him physically being able to do this , hes in his late 50's early 60's he would struggle to be hiking much.....let along do this to two teenage girls.......I was related to him through my ex wife only while I was married for 7 years.....

The woman who suspected Chandler did not call in her suspicions right away, but rather told her sister who, months or maybe years later, called it in, asking investigators to call the sister. They did but were not able to reach her.

Then much later that woman and another neighbor were discussing him and the neighbor had the handwriting sample on an invoice and SHE is the one who contacted police several times with her tip.

Chandler is suspected of killing another woman in 1990. Had the first woman who suspected him called it in rather than second-guessing her suspicions, Chandler might have been in custody and unable to kill again.

Years ago, there were a string of bank robberies. I saw some of the pictures and remarked that it looked like a relative. I never called it in because my family convinced me that it wasn't him. It was him.

ETA: after watching the one down by the creek I was struck at how peaceful it sounded with the "babbling brook" and birds singing and the horror of what happened there. It's just so heartbreaking.

I've been trying to think of something that might make him hard to recognize that wouldn't change the way he looks normally. Just a fake beard, wig, etc. would probably be too noticeable, even to strangers. I'm wondering if it could just be something as simple as being tall and slim with long, possibly curly, hair (past the shoulders) that was usually pretty wild, and a fuller beard and mustache. Trimming the facial hair, pulling the hair back into a pony tail, putting on a hat/hood, wearing multiple layers of heavy clothes, and slouching a bit could make him look completely different, especially if he kept a distance from everyone except his target/s. When it was over, he'd just have to take off a layer of clothes, let his hair down and maybe avoid people for a couple days for most of his facial hair to grow back. If he lives alone, he might have been on vacation or called in sick for a couple days.

While most people are looking for (an example only, I have no idea what his height and weight are) a man who is about 40, 5'10", 210# with short hair and a mustache or just whiskers/clean shaven, he may actually be 20, 6'2", 180# with long curly hair, a full beard and mustache. MOO

Heres what I have been wondering about for this case.

We heard awhile back that DNA was going to be fast tracked and from what i gathered from the press conference it sounded to me that LE has not been able to receive any news that their DNA samples have even been run through testing yet.

If that is true then how much longer are they going to have to wait?

I dont expect anybody to know the answer and it just floors me about this if I understood that correctly because what if the BG is getting ready to strike again. What if he has been local the whole time and is maybe ready to leave the area for good.

I know it takes time but I thought it was going to be fast tracked. Is fast track mean months and maybe even a year. It just boggles me about this knowing the guy could kill again any day now.

I do have a real question though.

When they finally get some results back lets assume they sent a good sample that gives back a good solid DNA profile report and lets assume it just does not match anybody they have in CODIS.

At that point though couldnt LE release much more of the footage and release much more information to the public because once they have a solid DNA profile then all they need is to get the BG behind bars and get a sample from him and it will match what they have. It WILL match so long as they identify the right perp.

So it can be no holds barred and give the public everything they got so that we can give this guy to them so they can match his DNA and prosecute him. There is no reason to hold any evidence back from the public IMO because they have a guaranteed prosecutable case once they have a solid DNA profile and since they already have his picture of him on the video.

Can anyone shoot any holes in this thinking?

It's time to give the public more info, it can be done without giving away too much. They can leave out a few telling details on the way they were killed as to not give people who make false confessions ammunition or the killers defense team anything.

This case is hitting a plateau and I'm afraid of what this beast can do, he's a danger to the public every day.

That Monday was Lincoln's birthday (observed) which happens to be a holiday in many places. I didn't work, kids didn't have school and the courts were closed. It was in California but there may be some places back east that also observe Lincoln's birthday.

Nobody is responsible for maintaining the bridge; it isn't part of the trail system.
It is supposedly owned by CSX and posted against trespassing. There are many previous posts about it; I'm just too lazy to provide links.

Something that I would like to get peoples opinion on. The evidence of DNA, item belonging to the perp and the Video/audio would lead me to believe this was not well executed. I mean if the phone was found on or around the bodies wouldn't he at least make an attempt to dispose or destroy it ? The DNA evidence is less avoidable but I still believe a pro would have figured that out. Personal items of the killer! Seems pretty stupid to let this happen but not not uncommon. The biggest ? why were the bodies so easy to find ? Was it he didn't care? Did he want them to find them as to show of his work or send a message to someone? Was he disturbed and fled without destroying evidence?

If you have the time, you can try looking back through some of the previous threads that will show quite a bit of discussion on some of your questions.
If your skin sheds onto the victim's clothing, or onto something else at the crime scene, it can be picked up and tested for DNA. If even one of your hairs sheds in the same way, they've got your DNA. Maybe one of the girls pulled on his mustache or head hair.
No one knows why the girls were left where/how they were, except that many have felt that proximity to a safe getaway point through/in the cemetery may have played a part in the decision. Having been disturbed by someone calling for the girls is a distinct possibility.
And so on. I know there's a lot of threads, but many of the ideas are well thought-out. We're all learning something from reading this set of threads.

Yes I had noticed them zooming in on the puddle as well. If I have my bearings correct (and I feel confident they are using the pedestrian bridge over the Heartland Highway as a landmark), the yellow arrow on the map points to the parking area they were focusing on in the video. My theory is that he parked elsewhere and rode a bicycle to the Monon High Bridge. JMO & MOO

Edit: The High Bridge is just a little to the southeast of that parking area.

Mud Puddle Discussion:

RTV6-WRTV Indianapolis 35 minute aerial video coverage provides a unique perspective from the day of recovery.

At approximately 2 minutes into the video, they focus quite a bit on a mud puddle and tire track appearances.

This location is adjacent to the Highway and near the overpass.

I am wondering if anyone seen LE car activity in this location?

Does anyone know what the circle of stones are?
