Having found this site shortly after these young ladies were lost... I see I am not alone in feeling a new level of disappointment in humanity.

Here is where my head keeps going--this region (northwest through west central Indiana) has been looking at human trafficking related crime which is on the increase.

Could it be such a thing that should be considered in this case?

Phone pings and whether Abby had a phone. I could swear I saw an article where they stated the phoneS were pinging before being turned off. If it was simply 1 phone wouldn't it say phone and not phones? Perhaps phones with an 's' is used generically to mean 1 phone.

Hi there! Thank you for your kind words. I'm not too concerned at this point about the reduction in the number of officers working this case full time. They had about 200 officers, which is a lot, and they still have about 70 or 80, with more who can be called on as needed. This is pretty typical at about 4 to 6 weeks into a case, IMO.

I might be more concerned a month from now if they haven't found the suspect and they further reduce the number of officers working the case.

This case has gotten national media attention, but there are not too many shows that cover current crimes. I think they are doing what they can to get attention for this case. I wish LE would give the public more to work with. Those images are very grainy and I don't think the three spoken words are enough to identify a person's voice. JMO

I too am on the 'release more info' team. I completely understand the need to play things close to the vest but in all honesty, IMO, if someone was going to recognize him they would have already...with so little to work with we instead attempt to work with what we have, which has resulted in poodles, cars in photos, etc. Exactly like the angels and demons case mentioned earlier...they could really learn from that case, IMO.

I think he had a car on the road below the bridge.

I am starting to think this as well, just a hunch. But I would think it's possible there wouldn't be any traffic on that gravel road/drive as one could speculate that it's possible that the few homeowners might be at work during the day. Quick easy route to get in and out and likely nobody would be the wiser....MOO

I would think there would be more traffic on the road by the cemetery MOO

Exactly.
He was there to get something he left out there in the woods.
Easy in and out but the girls saw him.
Could he have a stash out there. Money drugs guns?
Sorry peeps I still really feel they caught him doing something.

Agreed. I respectfully can not imagine that this was a man doing a drug deal, or that the girls saw something that they shouldn't have which triggered the killing. There is just no way, IMO.

Maybe one or both saw something in the days preceding.

I get the feeling a lot of people are getting exasperated by the lack of information divulged by LE. Please do NOT despair. They have a lot more than we think they do in their search for this spawn from hell. They have more video from which they "cut" the pictures and they have audio that is "nightmare" inducing. And they could very well already have video feed from cameras around town, or from roads coming into Delphi. They had a massive presence in Delphi of law enforcement working this case. I have faith that they will get him. I have faith that he WILL PAY.

I can't jump on board with the drug deal theory. People don't go to the woods to exchange drugs...on the regular. MOO

A [redacted since it is a rumor] s.

Maybe it was a predatory meetup of some kind and one or both of them recognized him and he couldn't walk away with a witness/threat to his "normal" life.

I was wondering the same thing. It was a white car wasn't it? Can somebody post the snapchat photo of Abby which has the car in the background?

I also have another question and hoping someone here can answer it. I have read that the girls' cell phones were pinging in the area near the bridge, but stopped pinging after they were reported missing. Does this mean that their phones would have been turned off by someone or that the batteries had died? If it means the phones were manually shut off, then I would say that BG took the girls' phones with him and he turned them off.

I think it's impossible to know if the battery died or they were turned off. I've seen comments that Abby also had a phone and so far as we know it has not been found. We may never know how it was that he didn't take or destroy Libby's phone. Or how it was found. But I believe it was based on the way it's been reported.

Welcome to Websleuths!

No one, or at least no one who has come forward, saw a car; no one saw him walking, yet we know he did one or the other.

My opinion is he walked to and from the area. The homes within walking distance are key. A visitor, a friend, a house sitter, or a resident.

This monster didn't parachute in or materialize out of thin air. Someone saw him that day although right now they would say no, they only saw their neighbor, or a friend or their son. They would say that because that is what they believe to be true. JMO

I have got to believe LE took into account that BG may have walked to the trail, not driven, so it stands to reason they canvassed all of the homes withing walking distance, spoke to the owners, spoke to visitors of the owners that day, etc. He could have parked anywhere in town and hiked to the bridge along the trail. Which means he had to hike back to town. This then indicates he wasn't "wet" from crossing the creek, and there was no apparent signs of blood.

It's possible that Libby's phone shut off due to battery drain if she was recording video.
It's possible (based on numerous pictures of the CS area) that the phone may have been lost in the leaves.
It's possible they found the phone(s) at the CS or close by. Maybe this is what they were looking for in the water? Obviously it was something with weight that would have rested at the bottom.

Can we post about Weston Gray? He has been arrested, but I can't find much more out. Thanks for any help!

ETA- he was an alleged Peeping Tom in Franklin, so IMO, not related, but wanted to see if anyone knew of the status.

This may very well be reporters taking liberties....but I find it VERY interesting that at 1:26 in the video/article I linked below that the reporter states that the voice from the phone IS the man in the photo: "authorities confirming to abc news that that voice belonged to the man seen in this still image".

This is the first I have heard of anyone confirming that the voice and then man were one in the same. I lean towards the "one perp" idea, but I do recall a lot of posts regarding the fact that LE was NOT linking the voice to the man indefinitely and leaving room for a possible accomplice. Anyone else think this is legitimate, or poor reporting from abc?
