My house once was broken into while we were away. The burglar rifled through our clothing drawers, including the ones where I stored my panties and bras. I used the same words -- "violated" and "raped" to describe my feelings afterward. It's not uncommon. JMO

I could see "Violated"... Rape is pretty specific to a sexual assault though.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/rape

" The crime of using force or the threat of force to compel a person to submit to sexual intercourse."

Any theories why RL's attorney requested a postponement of the violation of probation hearing?

MOO Possibly he's in a medical infirmary of some type for alcohol detox. Give him a few days to regain his composure before appearing before a judge.

I get more confused by my own thoughts everyday:blushing: But what if RL was really at home during the time Abby and Libby were on the bridge and murdered. Maybe RL did go to Lafayette that morning to buy fish and picked up BG hitchhiking. If RL brought BG to Delphi, maybe he lied about the time he was gone. This This is just a new thought & :moo:.ETA-This doesn't really work either because LE mentioned the hitchhiking early on & would know if RL did that. Never mind. Otherwise IMO-RL really does know BG on a more personal level and is covering for him.

RL is looking BAD.

If not the Perp or abettor, looks like he may have some mental issues.

He's really pushing the narrative that he's the Victim.

And I have to wonder about his attitude to the Law in his corner there.

Didn't RL's conviction state that he would have a 2 year suspended sentence *followed by* 2 years of probation ('consecutive')? If the conviction was in 2014, would that mean that his suspended sentence ended in 2016, however his probation will be until 2018? Just wondering.

this is part of RL's report from doxpop.com

Hearing Journal Entry
The State of Indiana appears by Jerry Bean, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. The defendant appears in person and by Andrew Achey, attorney. The defendant is in the custody of the Sheriff of Carroll County. The defendant has previously entered a plea of guilty to the following: Amended Count I, Operating a Vehicle with a BAC of .08 or Greater, a Class D Felony. Sentencing hearing is held. The court accepts the plea agreement and finds the defendant guilty of the crimes to which he has entered his plea of guilty. It is ordered and adjudged that the defendant is 75 years of age. The court enters judgment of conviction and sentences the defendant as follows: Count I-2 years sentence; 2 years suspended; 2 years probation; 0 fine. The sentence(s) shall be served in the Indiana Department of Correction. The sentences shall run consecutively to 08D01-1312-FD-107. The defendant's probation shall be supervised. The terms of probation are set forth in the Order on Probation and include the following: waiver of 4th amendment rights against search and seizure; participation in a drug and alcohol program at mental health and substance abuse evaluation; initial probation users fee in the sum of $100 and monthly probation users fee in the sum of $30; $100.00 probation administrative fee; no criminal violations; and no alcohol consumption. In determining the sentence imposed, the court considered the following aggravating circumstances: The defendant has recently violated the conditions of any probation, parole, or pardon granted him. The defendant has a history of criminal activity. In determining the sentence to impose, the court considered the following mitigating circumstances: Imprisonment of the defendant will result in undue hardship to the defendant or the defendant's dependents. The defendant has pled guilty and taken responsibility for his crime. Non-Statutory Mitigating: Remorse. The defendant has a diploma, college, and served his country in the military. The aggravating circumstances outweigh the mitigating circumstances. The court recommends that the defendant's driving privileges be suspended for 2 years. The court imposes court costs in the sum of $368.50 all to be paid to Clerk within 90 days. Count II, Count III, Count IV, Count V and Count VI are dismissed upon motion of the State of Indiana. The defendant is remanded to the custody of the Sheriff of Carroll County. C:State,Probation,CCSD,Achey,RJO10/27/14tsm
I'm behind but that 2 year consecutive sentence is referring to a prior sentence of 1 year, so total 3 years, putting probation active through 9/15/17.

I wonder if it's possible that the girls decided to cut through RL's property in an attempt to walk to Abby's house instead of being picked up?

Yes, I agree. I have always been of the opinion that BG was an older man and IMO, RL has the same postural tendencies as BG.
The stance and sloping shoulders are identical. The facial features of BG are so obscured/pixelated that half of what you see is in your head.

(I was so distracted by this thread yesterday that I gathered some bottled waters and carried them into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee and was THIS CLOSE to pouring them into the toaster when I realized "shoot, wrong appliance!")

I'm gasping for air. :floorlaugh:

p.s. and then I saw the ToasterPot. (I don't know how to paste another link in here.) I can't breathe...

There is more than one definition for the word rape. It does not always mean sexual assault.

It can also mean: an act or instance of robbing or despoiling or carrying away a person by force

or
an outrageous violation

Mental health issues? Pusing the narrative that he's the victim?

Can you for one moment imagine the horror of discovering that two young girls were murdered on your property? Can you put yourself in his shoes--his age--his generation, the way they see things? He commented that he let his son play back there and never once wondered if he would come back alive.

All this picking apart about the words he chooses is really mind boggling to me.

Maybe I can relate having property that has been in my family for generations. Maybe I can relate because I have older relatives and understand the way they look at life and the experiences they have had.

Can we keep an open mind here? I'm not saying the man is perfect. Obviously he has violated a probation.

Other than that, we don't know this man.

With the abduction and murder of Hannah Graham, charges were that she was "defiled".

I'm beginning to lean that way due to the paraphrase by a local news station who said that "(authorities) say they don’t believe there’s any immediate danger to the community"

That was right after the bodies discovered. If they don't know who & had under surveillance why would they say that if a stranger/murderer(s) were still at large?

Only if they were running from bridge guy...just my opinion, of course. Based on nothing but my gut feeling.

one of those images is reversed ... we've been through this on previous pages
