He said, "I'm 100% sure, in my mind,..."

So he kind of gave a qualifier and then went on to say that they are working really hard and they aren't going to let it become a cold case. I didn't really pick up on the absolute confidence that an arrest is imminent that some others seem to have heard.

He's a police spokesperson. In other words, he's their PR guy.

They need to release more info,

They can hold back one detail.

There is a lot they can release to generate interest or spur someone to make a connection.

residents thanked me for being in Delphi. TV news coverage they say increases the chances of police finding Abby & Libby's killer. #wthr

I was judging confidence based on the quote, not the audio. If he qualified it, than the same confidence isn't apparent.

ADMIN NOTE: A couple of reminders.

1. No link, no post. In other words, do not post a comment, "fact", photo, etc, followed by something like, "I can't post the link. It's against TOS."

Think about it. If a site is off limits, why would we allow members to post what they find on said site? So again -- no link, no post.

2. Images and videos must be accompanied by a legitimate (approved) source link.

Thanks.

I have been studying the why's (motivations) of both murderers and sexual-murderers( not including murders which are unintentional, crimes of passion, gang related, or for hire). The why's re incredibly complex, and can be broken down into a combination of factors: formative development, predispositional factors such as trauma, genetics (e.g. extra Y chromosome), reliance on early development of fantasies as opposed to object relations to achieve mastery of conflicts , paraphilia development (sexual deviations and fetishes), exposure to violence as child, poor self esteem and weak self image, and, the use of autoerotic activities/masturbation to deal with anxiety. There are more.

Thanks for trying to understand something difficult and dark. Its not easy and you may become "darkened" and desensitized in the process.

Kinda like their "today's the day" mantra. They have a strong belief in the power of positivity. Not sure that's a reflection that they have any idea who and/or where BG is. Jmo.

He sounded more upbeat than other times he was interviewed. Maybe there will be good news soon that BG has been identified and captured.

Still waiting for updates in the Missy Bevers case....6 months and counting. Hoping justice will come soon but it might not come quick enough

isn't it 11 months? Think she was murdered April 18th......sorry for the off topic post

Actually, Sgt. Slocum is local to the case. Delphi is part of his region as a police officer so he was called in right away when the girls went missing. The PIO for this case is Sgt. Riley out of Lafayette. But Sgt. Slocum is the one who always tweets out "today's the day" and similar positive messages. He seems to be the most optimistic of the bunch.

would that be SW who lives less than one mile away down the creek toward town?
There is def one out there that is not on that poster that is a sex offender lives hour away and photo is identical to features on bgs face especially the nose and lips.. Jus sayn

IMO LE is, in part, responsible for the rumor tsunami.

They make these ambiguous statements that stir up rampant speculation and then go quiet. They have also contradicted one another.

Look, they have a devil of a job to do. I could NEVER do what these folks do. But I do not think every move they make is a hit out of the park. Nor that there is some super-genius chess move for everything they do.

IMO, LE is knocked back on their pins, even with help at a higher level. Who can blame them? This is Delphi- think Mayberry. (I imagine). I would LOVE to live in a community like this! Because it is not a crime pit.

I only mean that attaching higher meaning to what they say or do is IMO a crap shoot. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

As far as SM, yes, people are all stirred up and posting cray cray. But I lurk and read in those groups, and *Readit* and *Tropix*.....

You can get some good insight if you know how to separate the wheat from the chaff. MOO.

Thinking about those sweet girls as always. :(
Very well said!! Thank you!! [emoji171]

Same difference. He fills in for the regular spokesperson, as he said in the interview.

JMO BG did not portrait himself as RL. It is just common dress for men in that area.

Been working like a dog, you know tax season..uggh.

Anyone have any cliffnotes on the case. Seems like there was something that happened with LE speaking today.

TIA!

God Bless Abby and Libby and their families. May these sweet youngsters RIP.

Okay, well, we can agree to disagree. Sgt. Slocum is actively working this case. He's not just doing PR. I think he is helping with the PIO duties when asked, but he's still assigned to the case as a detective. The backup PIO for Sgt. Riley is Sgt. Perrine.

I just think Sgt. Slocum has a happy go lucky personality. I really don't think he's putting on an act; that's just the way he is. He's tweeting out support tonight for Purdue to win their basketball game. He's a positive guy. JMO

2 on the poster alone need to be located and looked into.
Also came across a DRS who looks eerily like BG.
I believe LE have it narrowed down a lot further than they are letting on.
I do believe they are close to an arrest and don't want the suspect to be aware 🙏

I'm glad he's positive but all of that confirms my point. I hope he's right. But I'm not banking on it.

I think it is someone relatively local and people have recognized. LE said they believe they may have talked to the suspect already. They just need a tip that will break the alibi he's hiding behind. Someone is covering for him and giving him alibi that is false and now LE is having to track through other evidence to connect him. IMO

This is exactly what I've been thinking for a couple of weeks now. LE knows an alibi isn't true but can't get the other person to tell the truth. Just my opinion here.
