Interesting article from August 14, 2017: http://fox59.com/2017/08/14/lead-de...ave-more-audio-from-teens-phone-dna-evidence/
They should have their answer pretty quickly since it sounds like they have the suspect's DNA from the murders.

FROM THE ARTICLE:

Police tell us they have conducted hundreds of interviews, followed up on thousands of leads and served dozens of search warrants to find clues that the killer may have left behind, including DNA.

“At every crime scene, you are going to have DNA. We are still working on identifying all of the DNA that we have there,” said Sgt. Holeman.

Along with DNA evidence, police also have the suspect's voice. Police tell us Libby recorded the killer’s voice on her cell phone, telling the girls to go down the hill. Investigators say she hit record after he approached them near the Monon High Bridge.

Sgt. Holeman tells us investigators have more audio from Libby’s phone, which was found with the girls at the crime scene.
“It does not appear to be anything more than some discussion between the girls. We have only released a portion of it. There are some others we think could help us but again protecting the integrity of the investigation is key so we cannot release everything because there are certain people that know the details and if we release it all then we get into false confessions,” said Sgt. Holeman.

Really hoping this is the guy! It'll be disappointing if it's not.

Maybe he was walking back to the truck at indiana Packers.

Man, I hope he is BG.

His facial features suggest that he has fetal alcohol syndrome.
Info on that? Links or is this an opinion? Would love a verified professional to talk about that.

It sounds like DN was living out of his car in CO with his wife and children, at least camping. Am I interpreting the news out of Colorado correctly? If so, it is interesting that he appears alone in the red car photos. He was possibly surveying the search party without his family. IMO this alone makes him look guilty. He must have left them at a campsite or hotel to do his survey. IMO

Colorado's intimidation suspect from Indiana is no stranger to crime
Watkins was riding on a mountain road northeast of Woodland Park when he was killed by a .22-caliber bullet, according to a news release earlier this month and a report by the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Police found a .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle inside Nations' red sedan, according to the affidavit.
-.-.-.-
Indiana State Police have described the teens' killer as being between 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and they guessed his weight as being between 180 and 220 pounds. Hoosier police said the teens' killer has reddish brown hair.
According to Colorado records, Daniel Nations is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 169 pounds. But a Florida Sex Registry listing for Nations indicates he weighed 190 pounds then.
-.-.-.-
He's a convicted felon out of Morgan County, Indiana, where he beat up Katelyn Nations in December 2015, according to Indiana court documents.
Felons in Indiana are not allowed to have firearms.

Nov. 16, 2016. He faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia ....

El Paso County Sheriff's Office's spokeswoman told Fox News they will be turning over evidence they have to investigators in Indiana. Nations is currently faces a charge of possession of a weapon by a pervious offender, Teller County Sheriff's Office said. His bond was set to $2,000.

A couple of things... curious about the evidence that will be turned over and why such a low bond?

ETA: with so many typos in the article, maybe the set bond stated in the article is a typo, too.

Gotta catch up on today's postings but has anyone started sleuthing this guy's whereabouts in relation to the Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins murders? Curious to see if anyone has found any potential links.

Thanks. That article does not explicitly state he is not a POI in the sense that he's "off the hook." It states they are looking at him just like they look at any lead in the case.

jmo
They haven't had any leads imo.

I'm watching ABC evening news right now and they are going to report on a "possible break" in this case when they come back from commercial.....will post what they say.

It's an Indiana sex offender arrested in Colorado that is accused of threatening hikers there..according to police. Maybe there is more on ABC's news website?

They sure didn't say much. About 10 seconds worth.
