But if she was found so early, how did it take so long to put two and two together and identify her as the missing child? These are neighboring cities / police departments.

There are industries that don't follow 9/5 hours, and waste management is one of them in many parts of the world, because it's easier to do trash pickup when the streets are empty.

Here, our garbage and recycling pick up tends to be between four and six am.

3-year-old's death probed as homicide after police find her body at a recycling plant

Ellie Lorenzo was reported missing Friday after her father was found dead in San Francisco.

“Child deaths are incredibly meticulous investigations that require a variety of evidence and follow-up to determine a cause and manner of death,” he wrote in an email Saturday.

Have there been any updates about the investigation into her father’s death? Was it officially confirmed to be a suicide, or was that just speculation/rumor?

Seems we’d hear more from LE if they thought it was a homicide.
