Jmo I don't think having trial details sealed is a good idea, could set a very negative precedent. Whoever murdered these girls, and the man, does not deserve the privacy anyway. Most murders include terrible, gruesome details yet they are facts and should be public record at the appropriate time. Jmo

Sigh..I am much older than most of you, I guess. Those clothes are comfortable! I'm not a dude, but when I'm outside with my dog for a walk, I will wear a hoodie and LL Bean boots with my blue jeans. I don't want to get pine pitch on my good Boston shopping trip clothes! I do sometimes wear my Suffolk Law hoodie in Boston, in part because that's where the school is..hometown thing.

(I said too that I dress just like this lol)

I cant even start thinking about the possibility, that Abby and Libby may have been the brutal victims of a robbery gone bad. Oh man..

"And back in Indiana, after a disagreement on a farm where he worked, "all of a sudden some pigs came up slaughtered," Hunter said."
...
"(Police will) listen to what he says and record him," Crawford said. “There's going to be a voice or speech analysis done on this at some point in time, so they want to get his recorded voice on anything."

(Ugh...catching up. This is all so upsetting and creepy. I mean of course I'm glad he's in custody, but man, all this isn't easy to take in. I keep imagining their last moments...I mean now this is the kind of thing I was expecting, pigs, etc, sicko...sorry having trouble finding the words).

Another case with pigs and pig farms...

This is one of those days I think I might need need to take a long break from WS...maybe even permanently...(but only after next week, of course... )...
Approaching 5 years and 20,000 posts here...been an amazing run here. Would be hard to leave you guys though...maybe I can still just hang out in the light threads, lol, like the game room jk.

A pic of him on here that was yanked showed a semi-auto holster on his right leg, under the pants.
We don't know what was under his pants. ;) If something is under something then it's concealed so that would just be speculation.

LE has been in Colorado for 24 hours now, and the FBI has had that hatchet for as least as long I'm guessing. My hunch is that by now LE knows whether or not DN is BG. Maybe it's normal for a Saturday, but there has been absolutely no news media reports out of Colorado today regarding any of the charges against DN. We as the public aren't owed anything, but I hope that right now, Delphi LE and the FBI have met with and told the families "We got him."

Correct. You can get a BCD (Bad Conduct Discharge), or an OTH (Other Than Honorable) and we'll still pretty much accept you, but you have to be a real dirty to get a Dishonorable, and at that point you're basically non-existent to us. Also, no such thing as an ex-Marine (sorry, and no offense, just always have to correct anyone that uses the term!). Once a Marine, always a Marine. And it's not just a saying, we actually take that one pretty seriously. Source: I'm a Marine. I really hope this is the guy, but if not at least he'll be off the street for a while and maybe his wife and kids can get out from under him and find some peace and definitely a better life.

Kills me, though, how his situation was handled at 10th Marines. He should have been confined to quarters after the first incident, unless it wasn't until later on, after the other incidents, that he was hauled in by Jax Police.

There are two addresses listed for him in Jacksonville. Times sure have changed, when I was in we had to live in the barracks, or at the very least be issued a room. At any rate, it would have been much easier for him to commit crimes in Jacksonville, with his quarters being out in town

He should have been confined to quarters on base, after working hours. Period. Another thing that bothers me is he should have been confined to the base hospital for a period for a psych eval.

I've wondered how he ended up at Parris Island. Was he sent there on temporary orders, then discharged from there? I think 2DMARDIV probably figured they better get him out of Lejeune/Jacksonville, not only because he was a bad apple, but for his own safety, I can't imagine his artillery battery was happy with him.

So DN presented a false ID to an officer in Georgetown. I wonder was it stolen or did he have it made. Clearly, he did not want to be identified, but whether it was because he was a murderer on the run or a sex offender on the run remains to be seen. I also am curious about the situation with the officer in Georgetown, was he pulled over driving? If so were the Indiana plates still valid at that point? I have trouble believing he was pulled over in a car because LE would have found his ID didn't match the registration, unless KN was driving in that instance too. Or was he in a bar? I wish there were more details because spotting that fake ID could have potentially saved the life of Tim Watkins.

Indiana plates (registrations) are renewed by dates assigned alphabetically according to surname. If there was nothing hinky going on with the car (valid registration, etc.) then their current registration sticker would've been due for renewal by 8/21. If not renewed, they would've been considered expired on 8/22.

Thank you for that polite correction. I have the utmost respect for the Marines. REAL men (and women). Exemplifies the best of American ideals.

Yes, I would agree they know at this point but need to consult with the DA no doubt. They don't want any chance of a slip up.

I don't think they can do that yet as they have to wait for the DNA. But hopefully they can soon!!

I am confused though ( happens easily) doesn't LE match the driver's license with the registration? If he had handed over a fake ID wouldn't that have shown a mismatch between the two? prompting questions about why someone with a different name was driving a car registered to someone else. Obviously he couldn't give his own license because it was suspended and he had 3 outstanding warrants from the state of Indiana ( something he clearly didn't want Colorado police to know) If KN was driving why did DN have to show ID at all? Is it common for police to request ID from all adults in the car? This encounter is important because of the pain and suffering DN may have caused later in the Colorado Springs area which at the very least included chasing people with a hatchet.

I feel like the more we learn, the less we know, meaning, more possibilities come to the table as far as motive and circumstances, previously not considered as much as the most obvious (SA).

I guess we just don't know when they collected the samples to test, I have read different things. Also wondering about the ballistics on the gun with regard to Tim Watkins. I would suspect that they are comparing ME autopsy reports as well.

Sometimes when LE pull people over, and the vehicle they're pulling over has an out-of-state registration, it's difficult for them to get information from that other state.
