Wasn't some of the testing being done at the FBI lab?

You are referring to the recent arrest of King in Indianapolis I believe. It took 16 months to complete testing and another 6 months to confirm a match.

"The director of the Indianapolis-Marion County lab couldn’t comment on the case specifically, but he did say the labs current backlog is 92 cases. He said that delays in any case can be caused by a number of factors and may not be due solely to that backlog."

Yes - that is one case that took three years before he was arrested I believe and the 92 case backlog is Marion county alone. It's dreadful. Why aren't there more labs?

For Co or In? I don't know in either state TBH. Have you a link re which FBI lab? We could check the turnaround times on them too.

My memory is about our girls' case.

I'll see if I can find a source...

what's an inglenook?

Fireplace in a garage. Well, I have a log burner in a small garage loft conversion, Dad has a log burner in his bedroom. No, I don't find a fireplace in a garage strange we have a kitchen sink, washing machine, and freezer in our actual garage. Blimey i have an inglenook and fireplace in the garden shed.

I personally think kn +dn had a good sized space to live in. Inclusive of open fire it was probably quite cozy. All I see from the pictures is someone packing up to leave

Just my humble opinion

Have you seen the posts that show that ISP is waiting on results in 92 cases and how long results are taking? LE won't know for months regarding any POi's, never mind the only named one we have. That is the only ridiculous thing about this case IMO, so DN will not be excluded any time soon.

The thing is, we don’t know where they are testing the DNA for this case, so to me this doesn’t mean much. IMO

Bedford is about 2.5 hours south of Delphi.

Article about an attempted abduction on a trail in Bedford.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a camouflage ski mask.

"The incident happened just after 3 p.m. on the Milwaukee Trail just outside the city limits.

Bedford police say the victim told them an unknown man displayed a firearm and attempted to tie her up. She was able to fight off her attacker and ran back toward SR 37 for help."

*she might have DNA under her fingernails, etc.

Distance from Bedford to Delphi:

2 h 36 min (150.5 mi)
via IN-37 and I-65 N

Then the average times shown in the report could be used as an example. As the crimes have increased since 2010 the times would not have decreased IMO.
With no backlog the report shows 8 weeks for DNA and 7 weeks for ballistics and toolmarks for ISP lab. Nothing is listed for Colorado. Perhaps they use another state lab. Backlog was 40% in 2010.
