Kimberly Coleman was born to an African American mother and Caucasian father although his identity is unknown. She was place in foster care at a young age due to abuse. There is a devastating child protective service file on her from her youth. Her last know foster mother is known as Dorthy Ward. Kimberly has four children but was never married and last known to have live in south Bend Indiana with only her children. At the tome of her disappearance she has distance herself from her children’s fathers. The family she was associated with never reported her missing. It is assumed she may have passed due to a drug overdose or have developed mental illness from trauma. Her daughter has seen the missing persons report but it doesn’t contain any useful information. Although she was interviewed, Dorthy Ward the foster mother is NOT considered a credible source. She vaguely recalls last seeing her around the end of the year 1991 but didn’t report her missing until April of 1992.

Thank you all so much for your time and attention to this case. Love is Love

Thank you for this information. I want to ask why the foster mother would not be considered credible? Kimberly had aged out of the foster care system at least 3 years prior to her disappearance. The foster mom had no obligation to make the missing persons report, yet she did. Since it was some time after their last contact I would consider a best of her recollection as a normal response. If she recalled too may details much later, that would cause suspicion.

Why didn't the person caring for Kimberly's children during those months report her missing? Why didn't the family she 'associated with' report her missing?

Is dna available in Namus to compare her to unidentified remains?

Praying for answers.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

This unidentified woman was found in Fort Wayne a few weeks after Kimberly was reported missing. She's listed as Caucasian.

Since the date of last contact is still listed as 1 November, neither this UID nor Lebanon JD would have been compared automatically. The race "mismatch" might also have prevented an automatic comparison.

I was thinking about her too...was Kimberly pregnant as far as anybody knows?

I agree, the chin on the recon is also bothering me...but who knows.....

It's always hard to know how accurate any given reconstruction is, since they're all approximations. In Kimberly's photo, her head is tilted and her chin is slightly tucked, which makes it hard to see exactly what her chin would have looked like.

I would like to thank everyone for there post and thoughts on this story, Kimberly Coleman is my mother I’m 34 years old now it was hard growing up without a mother or father thinking people didn’t care what had happened to my mother. Hi Terrell! My deepest sympathy for what you've been through growing up without your mother. Kimberly Coleman matters to us here at Websleuths!

My suggestion to family is to reach out to LE to change the Race / Ethnicity info in Namus from 'Black / African American' to 'Black / African American/White - Caucasian' as Kimberly is of mixed race. I'm afraid it's possible potential matches are going to be missed if this info isn't changed.

Welcome Terrell C our little family here at Websleuths. First off my heart goes out to you for all the years you have not known where your mom is. Second You have your mothers Smile! And lastly I love your cat!

This thread will be kept alive until the day your mom is found!!!There are many of us searching daily. Just remember you are not alone!!

A good thing that her race is changed in Namus. Kimberly Coleman, Female, Multiple. Race / Ethnicity Black / African American, White / Caucasian.

Here is another picture of Kimberly I just got from her second oldest daughter.
I just took this photo and converted it to black/white and blew it up so you see her face closer.

It’s good to see the profile of her nose. Also looks like she has multiple earrings/piercings in her right ear. And her hair looks very full/thick and wavy curly. Her eyebrows look rather thin and or may drawn on. Hope this helps a bit more.

Does anyone know about the length of her hair when she disappeared?

@Terrell C Do you know if police have DNA on file?

I want to assure you, there's a lot of folks who would love to help you find your mother. As long as us sleuthers are around, she won't be forgotten. <3
I was wondering about the DNA myself as we can not see the identifiers in Namus anymore.

I searched the Southside Highschool Yearbook 1986 and I think this is Kimberly. (surname Cook) The Totem : South Side High School (Fort Wayne, Ind.) : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
