There have been cases of accidental death where the person just fell, climbed somewhere, etc, and wasn't found for some time. But in the case of LS given the extensive search it's probably not all that likely. One would think if she was walking home and fell and died somewhere along the way, they would have been able to find the body already. She was within 600 steps from her building (if 4:30 am witness statement is to be believed).
If a person can fall into a place like this then someone can put a person in a place like that and it would not have to be anywhere along her walk home.

The LE's timeline begins at LS entering Kilroy's, right?

Despite the earlier reported accounts of the night in the media, their could be a very good reason why LE start the timeline at Kilroy's despite having video from Smallwood from earlier in the evening.

Might have something to do with protocols of how these cases are to be handled?

BTW it's not just "sexism/misogyny" on the part of males. Feminism is all but non-existent. There is a tradition on campus whereby the females get all dolled up--like to the max. They stand in front of the dorms and guys in SUVs drive by to see who they want to pick up. It's like a meat market. Many of these gals are from small town USA, likely Indiana and the Midwest. This is their first stepping out and sometimes it ends in disaster.
Oh my...but I have to say, I'm not surprised. My daughter was on the softball team at a Texas college and she came home for a weekend, and showed me some texts she was receiving from a baseball player. He was inviting her to join in on a group sex thing...just her and some of his teammates. He seriously didn't understand why she got mad. He told her that she should feel 'honored' to be invited. He was from another country, but I'm not sure this was a cultural misunderstanding because the school put these guys on a pedastal. ends up a lot of girls agreed to these invites. My husband confronted this guy at a tournament and basically told him he was going to cut off a few things and shove them down his throat...and he became known as 'that crazy redneck'. go figure.

just to clarify, the altercation at Smallwood was after the outing at Kilroys.
Timeline:

LS/DR (HT?)-> 5 North (JRs)
LS/CR -> Kilroys
LS/CR ->Smallwood, altercation
LS/CR -> 5 North (MB)
LS ->5 North (JR)

I suspect that the kids were "cooperating" in the beginning. Some in fact, may have been talking to police before even talking to their parents. I think it's likely that in the beginning, some had no clue this was going to go on for so long. Anyone who is innocent probably thought she was going to just show up at any given moment It probably wasn't long however, before things began to get serious, beyond "surreal", parents retained attorney, and kids were told not to talk.

As I've said before, much of what these kids say can incriminate them. If they provided drugs to her (or perhaps were even with her when she took something), that may be grounds for leading to her death. Even if LE give them immunity, her parents could likely still use it against them in a Civil Suit, which can still ruin their reputation. These kids may have much on the line, even if they are innocent of any wrongdoing beyond drugs.

There are other ways to talk instead of just doing it to the police:

1. anonymous tip
2. getting word through another friend

I can't really lean either way, but I think it was either something happened at JR's, and who knows how many people were there, or just 1 or 2 guys, or JW attacked her that night, livid that she was with another guy or two.

As much as I can see something happening at JR's, I also have a hard time believing JW's story. Given all of the events that happened, it seems quite possible that he could have confronted her that night, and perhaps she even taunted him by telling him of her activities, and he lost it.

The official LE timeline starts at 1:46am when LS enters Kilroy's, but police presumably have the video from Smallwood when she first left Smallwood that evening right?

yes, we should assume so, what's your point? (I'm interested, not complaining)

post office box - I know almost an obsolete term.

lol no me being dense as usual.
I just can't see this set mailing anything. I know I would have to go to the PO just to buy a stamp - I do everything online now... and I'm old, so I imagine mailing is foreign to many of them. OTOH that may make it more comfortable?

Apologies if this article was already posted. Explains why CR was on "no-trespass" list. CR and JR were arrested and charged with illegal consumption after trying to break into Smallwood.

"Rosenbaum has had two brushes with local police — one with another IU student who was with Spierer the night of her disappearance, 21-year-old Corey Rossman, of Sharon, Mass.

Rossman is on the Smallwood Plaza “no trespass” list following an Oct. 31, 2010, incident at the complex. At 2:58 a.m., Bloomington police found Rossman and Rosenbaum attempting to enter Smallwood with a credit card, according to Bloomington police logs. Officers also reported the two said they could enter the complex by force.

Rossman and Rosenbaum were arrested on charges of illegal consumption and were released hours later."

So correct. Would they even know how to address an envelope or where to get one, let alone a stamp. And of course, where is the post office or those rblue boxes?

True, none of these students would probably even want to be seen buying stamps for fear it would look as though they intended to send in a tip...

Apologies if this article was already posted. I knew CR was on "no-tresspass" list, but didn't realize he and JR were arrested and charged with illegal consumption after trying to break into Smallwood.

For all this talk of CR just entering the picture in the days -- maybe weeks -- before LS disappearance -- it is now becoming more clear that JR knew CR, and we know SOME of the Smallwood people were tight enough with JR to watch the game up at his crib -- and HT says she used to hang out up at JR's all the time last year. BW and BL made it clear in their appearance on Fox News that they had never, ever met CR. These relationships are very murky.

thanks, personally I must have missed it if I had read it before now. It is interesting that the claim is that LS hadn't met CR until the INDY500, just a few days before she went missing, although she hung out at JRs all of last year. (according to HT). Since it seems like JR and CR hung out going back to this incident (10/30/2010) and they were living in the same complex.

The PsOI, if innocent, would be speculating about why their associate is missing, one would think. They might actually even miss Lauren. After all, even OJ sought to find Nicole's killer, didn't he? I would love to know what they are speculating among themselves/families.

You mention the "PsOI, if innocent" and then liken in to "OJ". OJ is not innocent.
