Yes, but if the man with LS is CR, LE not confirming it was him is like closing the barn doors after the horse has bolted. Plenty of articles published indicating CR was with LS that night, and that LS walked CR to his apartment. Also, I don't recall LE having any problem with saying the boyfriend is a POI (even if it was in response to a question).

It's not like they have denied it was him. LE has been consistent in maintaining specific identity vagueness in regards to who she was with on every video they've talked about.

As to confirming the bf as a POI, it was Parker that did so early on, and I believe it to have been a gaffe. When Qualters returned from vacation the next day, he mentioned specifically that there would be no talking about any of the POIs.

Did LE actually say it was JR who saw her leave at 4:30, or did it all come from other people such as roommate and lawyers?

Thanks for adding the link, SO. I don't have a lot of confidence in that blog, though. I listened to the press conference when LE was asked about Lauren's keys and purse. I don't remember anything being said about missing credit cards. Has anyone else seen this reported?

Nope. Never heard anything about any missing credit cards.

I guess LE sometimes do not tell the truth, I knew I had read of another video or image after the 2:51 am one. Here's the proof:

"Parker did say police have found an image of Spierer on tape from a security camera in an alley. It showed her with someone else walking from a friend’s apartment to her apartment, Strong said."

http://www.indystar.com/article/201...er-case?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|IndyStar.com

This article was written after CR's identity was revealed and the video of CR and Spierer was confirmed by LE.

Sorry if this has already been dissected I am having a hard time remembering everything that was talked about. In the link you provided (thanx) CR lawyer said CR was confronted again that morning meaning the morning after she went missing.Has other links been provided that discount that?He is also quoted as saying "I hope they follow all the leads we've given"I wonder what leads CR lawyer could give to police?I am suspicious when suspects start offering alternatives to their involvement.

Yes, it is damaging. But if that's their reason, why say he was with her as they entered Smallwood? Why say he was punched and she took him home? Why name anyone? I'm not arguing - just throwing things around.

And another thing.....they named JR, saying he watched her leave his apartment. That places him and being the last person to have "supposedly" seen her. They have named the boyfriend, the roommate, everyone.

Can you please cite where LE has named anyone? I know all of the names have been reported heavily by the MSM, but the names have never once come up during the press briefings.

But from what I understand LE didn't say they can't identify him. They said they won't.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe LE has stated that they know the man's identity, have they?

As far as the issue about her credit cards...someone may have said she had credit cards, and now they can't find them, so they worked it into a story that her credit cards were missing from her purse, which they may have been, but who knows...I am sure LE knows if they have been used.

The credit card report is from the blog, not msm, so I am not sure where this information was gotten from. Yes, no doubt if the credit cards were missing, LE would be monitoring this. But considering the purse has been lost at night, and left on the rail, missing credit cars (assuming they are actually missing) could have been taken out of that purse at any time after it was lost.

I have read that her keys were actually part of a little keychain wallet ie her keys were part of her "purse" that night. There was a whole discussion, if I recall, about how she would have carried it conveniently without a purse and I believe the likely conclusion was that she was either simply holding them in her hand or had them tucked into the waist of her leggings.

Have you read that her keys and purse were found separately? I could be wrong.

I've read that the boy who found her keys, AA, saw them lying in grass. He then stated his friend walked by a few hours later and saw them still there, so he picked them up and put them on the railing.

I also thought that her "keys" weren't really keys, but a keycard to get into her building. I think that's why it was reported that the keys were inside a purse. Wouldnt she have a regular key for her apartment door though?

As for the missing credit cards - maybe they/she/he took them out in the alley to cut up cocaine? It's not too far-fetched that they used drugs in the alley, given the timeline - they were in the alley longer than it would take just to walk through, right?

Did LE actually say it was JR who saw her leave at 4:30, or did it all come from other people such as roommate and lawyers?

I have not seen LE confirm it, however, there are several references to him being the witness that claims to have seen her leave at 430am in MSM. I will link to a few now:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-06-14-lauren-spierer-investigation-tips_n.htm

http://www.examiner.com/criminal-pr...rson-case-update-no-to-truck-no-to-bag-yes-to

http://www.fox59.com/news/wxin-laur...eirers-disappearance-20110617,0,4164052.story

Other MSM, however, don't mention him specifically. In these the 430am witness account is mentioned, but the witness is not named:

http://nancygrace.blogs.cnn.com/201...-timeline-in-indiana-student’s-disappearance/

http://www.theindychannel.com/news/28258940/detail.html

I find it curious that some sources name him while others don't. It makes me wonder if there is an effort on the part of his camp in keeping his name out of the press.

He either saw her or he didn't.

I am also curious as to why press rarely mentions JR. They had a lot more info about CR, which doesn't appear to be as important a witness if he actually did suffer memory loss and was put into bed by his helpful roommate MB.

Nothing I have read says that LE said JR was the one. Some articles say JR told police he saw Lauren and others have roommate/CR's lawyer saying it was JR.

And this is because CR immediately talked to the press both himself and through his lawyer.

Isn't CR's lawyer the vocal one? He and MB's?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe LE has stated that they know the man's identity, have they?

To the best of my knowledge, no. Not to the public at least. I do find it interested that it is reported that they "won't" identify, as opposed to "can't" identify.

I also think if they could not identify him but wanted to preserve the video, they would release a description and ask for info. They haven't done that, which makes me believe they don't need to.

Found a very interesting quote in MSM, yes LE has spoken with JR it seems.

Lieutenant Bill Parker said the Bloomington Police have conducted polygraph tests with the people who were with Lauren the night she disappeared. “We have spoken to the acquaintances that were with her in going up to the other apartment on 11th, and then the acquaintance that watched her walk away, but I don’t want to [say] what was stated at this point.”

Can you please cite where LE has named anyone? I know all of the names have been reported heavily by the MSM, but the names have never once come up during the press briefings.

Yes, the boyfriend was pointed out specifically as a POI. His name wasn't mentioned here, but I believe this was the only time one was explicitly called a POI:

"We continue to speak with him. He's cooperative," Parker said, referring to Spierer's boyfriend, adding "certainly" when he was asked if the boyfriend is a person of interest.
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/28197546/detail.html.

However, names were specifically mentioned here in this Police timeline:
-- 1:46 a.m.: She entered Kilroy's Sports Bar, leaving at 2:27 a.m.
-- About 2:30 a.m.: She entered her apartment and left at 2:42 a.m.
-- 2:48 a.m.: She was seen walking up an alley, toward Rossman and Rosenbaum's building. That time is revised from earlier police statements.
-- 4:14 a.m.: The truck was first spotted and again at 4:24 a.m. though police said they don't know if it's connected to Spierer's disappearance.
-- About 4:30 a.m.: Rosenbaum told police he saw Spierer rounding a corner toward home.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-06-16-missing-indiana-student-spierer_n.htm

Lt. Parker says in this press conference video that "the acquaintance watched her walk away because she said she wanted to go home...". He doesn't state JR's name, but he indicates the acquaintance is the same acquaintance whose apartment she was visiting until 4:30 am

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/video/indi...ren-spierer-news-conference-6-8-25510222.html

He repeated this in another video, either the day before or after.

This supports my theory that something is shown on that video in the alley, and perhaps the reason that LE won't mention who she's with:

"We have information from that video that again gives us an indication not only of the direction (of her travel) but the activities that have taken place from where that video shows," said Capt. Qualters, who told reporters that surveillance cameras in the vicinity of 10th Street and College Avenue and adjoining alleys may show Spierer walking from her Smallwood Plaza apartment building to 5 North Townhomes at 11th Street and Morton Avenue.

"I believe that was in the area of 3:15, 3:30," said Capt. Qualters. "That would be somewhere north of 10th Street." http://www.fox59.com/news/crime/wxi...spierer-last-spotted-20110612,0,2772229.story

Another site states: " -- 2:48 a.m.: She was seen walking up an alley, toward Rossman and Rosenbaum's building. That time is revised from earlier police statements." http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-06-16-missing-indiana-student-spierer_n.htm I do think this is a time revision and that there probably aren't later videos.
