Thanks for posting the article & video.

The DA's last words in the video (at least this is what I heard):

"The grand jury has spoken through their findings. They do not believe Jaime Clutter killed her two children nor do they believe Jaime Clutter drown her two children. Finally, they do not believe Jaime Clutter committed suicide."

What a bizarre case.

Thanks!

Not suicide by the mother.

Not murder of the children by the mother.

The only thing left to me is homicide by another person(s).

I hope Henderson is going to call for more investigation by his own investigators, or maybe it's time to call in state police or FBI...IMO

Or are we living in a time warp where 'these things happen' and nobody cares to find out the truth?

Would be interested in how her hypothalamus looked (if there were still available brain samples after decay) or if she had a hypocretin deficiency.

(among a myriad of other things)

Man wants apology after grand jury rules family's drowning accidental

http://www.whas11.com/news/indiana/...-accidental-drowning-of-family-215180741.html

...........Keith Henderson said the grand jury found Jaime Clutter did not kill herself or her children, and her husband, Michael Clutter, was not responsible for their deaths either.

“It is a whole lot better than what detectives were saying which I never did believe in the first place,” Clutter said.

"There's no evidence that suggests that based on an interchange with a neighbor that Jaime was attempting to kill her children," Henderson said. .......

After five days and 17 witnesses, including a medical examiner, a psychological expert and a hypothermia specialist, the grand jury ruled they accidentally drowned after leaving their apartment for an unknown reason and developed hypothermia and became disoriented. .........

“I think there needs to be an apology made on their behalf of the police department because what they were saying wasn’t true at all,” Clutter said.......more.....

Much respect for Prosecutor Henderson for taking the extra steps he did for the family!

Not sure why Mr. Clutter wants an apology when it's not normal to go out into 18 degree weather yourself, much less small children without some type of protection from the cold. jmo

Man whose family died in New Albany creek hired as deputy coroner

Floyd County Coroner Leslie Knable said she appointed Michael Clutter to fill a vacancy in one of her three deputy coroner positions, which each have an annual salary of $7,555.

Knable said she spent hours each night on the phone with him learning more about the case initially, then continued listening in more of a counseling role.

Clutter has associate degrees in business management and accounting from the Indiana Business College in Muncie.

He said he knows he has a lot to learn as far as medical terminology, but he's looking forward to the new job.

What does a deputy coroner do? He sure won't make much money.
Edited toadd: nevermind. He has to train and then just be on call while having another job.

ITA......Absolutely none of this makes any sense.....

(Above quote from Popsicles link)

I'm not up to date on this case. How much involvement did Knoble have in this investigation? It seems awfully strange to me that we find out she has such a close relationship with the husband. I wonder if there is any way to know how long they have been so close that they spend hours in the phone together in the night and take walks in the woods together? And now she is hiring him to work for her! How many men would do that with a woman they had only a professional relationship with? Zero I think.

The grand jury ruled according to the evidence they had. I hope someone will continue to investigate in case there is more to this story or new evidence to present to another grand jury.

MOO

I just don't understand this man. I don't get him at all. I would think that being a depty coroner would be the last thing he would want to do, since the mysterious deaths of his wife and kids.

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers.

So...glad there seems to be some resolution in this case. I struggled with how she could have drowned herself in that small amount of water BUT if she had hypothermia prior to getting into the water that can explain it as well as what they mean by compounded by mental illness. There is a phenomenon that occurs when a persons body temp drops to a certain low (there's a name for this but it escapes me) and the individual actually feels HOT because of the the damage to the hippocampus of the brain the low temps cause. This causes an individual to she'd their clothes, and seek to "cool down". If this indeed happened to Jaime then it's possible she shed her clothes and got into the water....once in there, her heart may have stopped and she fell face first and drowned. Interesting indeed. Question is.....Did she drown her children actively or simply figure they were burning up too, and place them in the water to "cool down"?
