Am I reading too much into this or am I starting to see a pattern with this guy as far as victims. Worked at a Funeral Home, worked at a Nursing/Rehab Center and now a very young child. I am mortified!!!!

How did the step father refrain from strangling him right on the spot?

As SOON as I read that I had the exact same thought!! How does that conversation even go, anyway? Oh, by the way dad yeah, I did that. Okay son, let's you and I mosey on down to the PD and have a chat with the homicide detectives.

Sorry but, I'd have to call 911 myself and inform them I was about to do something awful and they'd better get a cop out to my house NOW if they wanted him alive and in one piece.

Why would you be mortified? 'Mortified' means embarrassed, ashamed or humiliated.

I am so damn angry right now and can't write in a public forum what I want to say. I will tell you, however, that Kyle isn't the only being I'm cursing.

Yep. I can't get over it. I haven't been drunk in many years, but I have to believe that alcohol doesn't make you just not care about something like that. I would think at the very LEAST you would go check on the baby! Personally, there are very few people I'd go to bed with them still in my home. I'm just so angry about all of this!

Clearly they live a very different lifestyle than many of us are familiar with.

As a mother I couldn't imagine not checking on the baby before going back to sleep. No clue why AA didn't at least check on S but then drunk males don't think like mothers do they? Generally not. Imagine the guilt he is experiencing now... if he's not directly involved in some manner. **This entire situation is unfathomable**

I bet dear Shaylyn was targeted. Pedofile's often find their victims with a family or caretaker that's neglectful of their child's safety. They look for these opportunities.
I hope he hasn't abused others.

I believe she was too. Hopefully there's enough evidence for that (premeditated murder versus felony murder) but I fear that Kyle will use the diminished judgment due to alcohol excuse.

In the past Kyle picked her up while he was drunk - for no reason. Red flag IMO. Now we hear that grandma was surprised by walking in and finding Kyle rocking Shaylyn. The earlier story was that Kyle rocked Shaylyn to help get her to sleep - you know, helpful trusted family friend. Which is it?

"I knew Kyle through a friend of a friend and he was supposed to be one good friend and then he turned around and does this to our family and all I can say right now is I hope he burns in hell," Adam Ammerman said.

He also said that Parker was familiar with Shaylyn.

"He knew Shaylyn, he's played with her, he's taken care of her. He rocked her to sleep," Ammerman said.

Adam's statement on Friday, after Kyle was arrested:

“Kyle was in my room sitting in the chair, drinking and talking to people on his phone, I guess, cause I heard the tick, tick, tick texting. And, at roughly, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, I heard the front door open and I look out my window and Kyle’s walking down the yard to his car. I open my window, I yell out to him, ‘Kyle, where are you going?’ He never answered me back. He just got in his car and took off," Adam said.

Adam said he did not see Shaylyn with Parker.

“No. I didn’t see Shaylyn at all. Then of course, I was sleepy, I had sleepy eyes, I had alcohol in me and my vision was all messed up," he said.

Oh yeah, the alcohol again. I am so damn mad... :furious:

A little bit on Indiana death penalty. It can be pursued for murder cases with these aggravating circumstances:

IC 35-50-2-9 Death Sentence
(1) The defendant committed the murder by intentionally killing the victim while committing or attempting to commit any of the following:

(A) Arson (IC 35-43-1-1).
(B) Burglary (IC 35-43-2-1).
(C) Child molesting (IC 35-42-4-3).
(D) Criminal deviate conduct (IC 35-42-4-2).
(E) Kidnapping (IC 35-42-3-2).
(F) Rape (IC 35-42-4-1).
(G) Robbery (IC 35-42-5-1).
(H) Carjacking (IC 35-42-5-2).
(I) Criminal Gang Activity (IC 35-45-9-3).
(J) Dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug (IC 35-48-4-1).

KP has been charged with 3 out of 10.

His crimes will definitely put the DP on the table, but if it's like the Chad Cottrell case (triple murder + child molestation), it will take forever and tons of money before they'll ever make a decision. Cottrell ended up getting life, much to the disappointment of the victims' families and the community (my hometown). Cottrell wanted the DP, and I think the judge thought life was a bigger FU.

I think most of us understood the meaning Bravo intended.

Sorry... just a knee-jerk response to the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard (for me), and my nerves are raw with this horror.

He confessed to his step dad
Attempted to destroy evidence to escape being charged
And he pleads not guilty?

:behindbar:

Defendants are coached to plead 'not guilty'. If K gets a chance, he will commit suicide first even thought I'm sure he's on Suicide Watch.

IMHO, I'm glad he was caught so quickly and that he admitted to his crimes to his step-father who shared that info with LE. With so many family members covering for others in all sorts of cases, it's refreshing to find a family member that steps up for the victim and what is right! Additionally, it seems like this might have been the first murder for K... molestations of other children could likely be revealed as children see this news and step up to point another finger at K. We'll just have to wait and see...

No worries we all are raw and numb right now. Most disturbing case to put it mildly.

In one of the early interviews (maybe the phone call with the journalist?), Justin said he thought Shaylyn's abduction might be in retaliation for something. I wonder if there was a reason that Kyle took Shaylyn and subsequently raped and murdered her? Was he trying to get back at the brothers for some (real or perceived) misdeed, or is he just a sick, perverted SOB?

IMO it's the latter BDE. Good to see you ma dear.

Synonymous with horrified and appalled. I think we all know what Bravo meant.

It's horrified and appalled at one's own behavior. I'm really not going to belabor the point here, though. I apologize for the derailment.

Yes, it seems astonishing to me, but, if your mind would not even consider any ill fate would come to a baby, then Adam may not have even realized what he "saw" at the time, and it wasn't until Shaylyn was missing and the family was going over the events of that night, that Adam suddenly realized what he " saw".

I agree. I don't think anyone in Adan's position would suspect Kyle had kidnapped shaylyn. especially if the interviewing office told Adam they suspected Kyle had shaylyn when he walked out of the house.

The comments on Justin's SM page are horrific.

1 vote for sick, perverted SOB. Did you see the earlier news article about his friends saying KP was into S/M *advertiser censored* and attracted to young girls.
