thanks Rosco. Technically before the property was forclosed A was the owner so the bank could not have given you permission to get anything. The person you sent to the auction should have info on who the bank is no? My suggestion would be to contact the bank, explain and ask permission... they may say yes, they may say no due to the hazards of the property now that they would be liable if you or anyone was hurt there KWIM?
You may get an understanding soul at the bank who will allow you to go while they have their clean up crew but would require you to stay out side or sign a disclosure of somekind saying you will not hold them responsible should you get hurt or something like that. Though, you would have to be able to go on the drop of a time depending on when the crew is there.... It is worth a try.

ETA: You never know about the property itself. I've seen homes with 4' of water in basements not torn down. I've seen old properties I was certain would be torn down which were not.... you just never know.
