The Irish Coast Guard, gardaí, and members Kerry Mountain Rescue Team have resumed the searches for a missing mountain climber.

He was last seen on the summit of Mount Brandon that afternoon. At that time, it’s believed he was wearing shorts with a dark top and was carrying a large rucksack.

The alarm was raised on Monday when Mr Jaworski, an experienced mountain climber, did not show up for work.

On Tuesday, June 25, gardaí and members of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team launched a search operation, with assistance from SARDA, the Dingle Coast Guard, and Coast Guard Helicopter R115.

Mr Jaworski's car was located in Faha car park close to Mount Brandon on Tuesday.

“The team is seeking information from anyone who may have seen this man at any stage on the hill or around the general Brandon area from Sunday afternoon onwards,” Kerry Mountain Rescue wrote in a post on Facebook

"The brother of missing Sebastian Jaworski
says he has 'no idea'
what could have happened to his brother during his trek up Mount
Brandon
as the search for the experienced climber enters its sixth day.

Jarek Jaworski gave thanks
to the seventy-person-strong search party
made up of volunteers and members of the emergency services
who are working around to clock to help locate his brother.

The operation also involved the use of specialized dog units,
drones and the deployment of two Coast Guard helicopters -
Rescue 115 and Rescue 117.

The rescue efforts saw a setback over the weekend as poor weather affected visibility,
ultimately forcing rescue crews to call off the search early.

Despite the weather issues,
volunteers were up bright and early the following morning to continue their search
as soon as conditions cleared up."

A search operation for missing hiker Sebastian Jaworski who was last seen in West Kerry nine days ago is now being concentrated along the coastline.

It's after personal property was discovered on Banna Beach.

(..)

Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopters based at Shannon and Waterford were deployed alongside Coast Guard units from Dingle, Glenderry and Iveragh in the search for the missing man.

However, it emerged today that Sebastian's personal property was discovered on Banna Beach yesterday and the search on Mount Brandon has been stood down.

Gardai said they would continue the search with the assistance of the Coast Guard, along the coast of the Brandon Point area of Daingean Ui Chuis.

Kerry Mountain Rescue Team said their thoughts remain with Sebastian's family as the search continues.

In a post on social media, a spokesperson said: "The team was stood down by AGS last night as new information emerged in the search for Sebastian Jaworski.

"The search operation will now be concentrated on the coast for the coming days.
