Does anyone know when the US/Canadian border closed? I remember it used to be open in the early 2000s, and I was wondering if any of Keyes' early victims could've been killed in Canada.

Define "closed". Do you mean like requiring a passport to cross? Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but in Washington that started as soon as the border reopened after 9/11.

I crossed in WA at Lynden (the most common crossing, at the I-5 terminus) in January 2002 and I needed a passport to get through. But I obviously have no idea what the specific "records" kept on that entailed.

Before 9/11 I can't remember. I only went through once prior to that and don't recall what documentation was required then.

I always thought James Lamar Tidwell was a decent candidate for being an Israel Keyes victim. He went missing from Mount Enterprise, Texas on February 15, 2012, and his vehicle (white 1979 Ford F100 pickup truck) was found abandoned around March 2, 2012. Going off the dates and locations LE provided, Keyes was in a three to three and half hour vicinity of Mr. Tidwell, so there's a possibility Keyes could've abducted and killed him.

I don't remember where I read this, but Tidwell was apparently involved in construction or something along the lines of that, and of course, the day after he went missing, Keyes robbed that bank in Azle, Texas. In the surveillance footage of the robbery, Keyes dons a hard hat and a breathing mask. But, Keyes was also in construction, so there lies the possibility that he brought those items down with him to Texas, I think that's a bit of a stretch though.

Did Israel give details as to what Samantha went through? I can't for the life of me remember where I read this but somewhere online is an article where Israel gave details. He was in that little shed with her. He sat down, poured some wine, and told her what he was going to do with her. The article also stated that Israel beat her to get her PIN number. Has anyone else read this? This may be a weird question but I'm genuinely curious.

There was an ID show, I believe? It shows portions of Keyes' interviews. It was so horrible, I don't think my brain retained much of what he did to Samantha. Only that he sewed her eyelids open (post mortem) and put a current newspaper in front of her and took a picture as proof that she was still alive. Horrible evil man.

Does anyone know if the FBI has unreleased interviews with Keyes? If so, would it be useful to file a FOIA to obtain any unreleased interviews or transcripts?

I read that he initially told her that she would be turned loose to calm her down....He took her to his shed , went inside of his house, went back to the shed and poured himself some wine....asked her if she knew how this had to end that he could not turn her loose....raped her and strangled her....he put her in a bottom cabinet in his shed but had to cut her up so that she would fit in the cabinet....he didn't want to leave her out in the shed....went on his cruise.......came back and sewed her eyelids open to make it appear that she was alive , took a photo of her with a newspaper with the date visable and sent it to her family....I cannot remember where I read this...

Thanks Marable for posting about the new book written about IK. I've been waiting for someone to write about him. I haven't paid much attention to following any info on IK as I don't think there will be anymore info on him since his suicide, IMO.

Right, I've been trying to figure out a way to get an "invitation." Problem is there isn't even a way to contact her via the website without already having said "invitation." I really want to see what she's come up with.

Hi all. Don't know if this is the right place on Israel Keyes' subforum to post this, but regardless, here it is. Also, I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm really not all that familiar with Keyes.

I wonder if he may have killed Damon Justin Bonds, missing from Anchorage, Alaska, since March 27, 2004.

It seems to me that Keyes didn't have a specific victim profile. Keyes was drifting around the US at that time, and was familiar with Alaska, so it doesn't seem that out of line.
