BBM. That is a grossly unfair generalization. Not one of the Muslim families that I personally know are murderous extremists.

Islamic fundamentalists are the ruling/governing body of Gaza where this war is actually taking place. The examples I provided (voices from their leaders) are the very source of what IDF are fighting against. I will not sit idly by and allow Hamas (nor any other group) to declare murder on another based on religion/heritage. I will not wave a pro-Palestinian flag because I want peace... because the Islamic fundamentalist leaders do NOT comprehend peace.

You are ok Dotta, don’t worry. If the world was full of Dottas, the world would be just dandy.

Yes it would. But, if sentiments continue in the same derisive manner this crisis could escalate into something a person in their right mind would never want to see happen. The military buildup by USA and friends in the seas, oceans and adjacent areas is not there for looks......JMOP

Not a fact, but an interpretation.

The same region has also been called the "Land of Israel" (Eretz Yisrael) or Ha'aretz The Land). Same names for the region, same time period.

It is the geographical region from the river to the sea (Jordan River to Mediteranean Sea). And was known historically as either the Land of Israel or Palestine depending on which perspective you were using.

Now the region from the river to the sea is the sovereign nation of Israel. And those who refer to themselves as Palestinians occupy the Gaza Strip and West Bank (and a section of Jerusalem).

So you could say, both historically and currently, that Palestinians are living in the Land of Israel. Both then, and now.
Palestine

Palestine_(region)

is a geographical region in West Asia.

Situated in the Southern Levant,
it is usually considered to include Israel and the State of Palestine, though some definitions also include parts of northwestern Jordan.

Other historical names for the region include:

Canaan, the Promised Land,
the Land of Israel,
or the Holy Land.

I know peaceful Muslim families as well. My kids went to school with a lovely family. The kids used to come for hot chocolate and cookies on Christmas Eve. We trick or treated together for a few years.

But they did not live in Gaza and were not being indoctrinated by Hamas and the UN schools. Their family chose to live in LA surrounded by a wide variety of religions and ethnicities. They sent their kids to a local public school and were happy to learn about other cultures and traditions.

BBM. There were very vocal worldwide protests against the invasion of Iraq: Millions protest against the Iraq War in coordinated day of action | February 15, 2003 | HISTORY

I think the world-wide protests happening now aren't in support of Palestine but are against the aerial assaults by Israel that have resulted in total destruction of civilian homes in residential areas, refugee camps and the slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians. It sickens me every bit as much as the photos from Vietnam showing the children screaming in terror: Nick Ut's Pulitzer Prize-Winning Photograph Still Haunts - artnet News.

I remember it like yesterday....napalm sticks to kids

You're no fool. You are simply expressing your humanity instead of vitriol during this crisis.
Expressing outrage towards the actions of Hamas on that terrible day are far from vitriol, but instead it's compassion and grief for those who were killed in their homes and did nothing to provoke Gaza.

The IDF is still trying peaceful solutions like attempting to get fuel to the hospital and evacuating the patients.
But Hamas needs those innocent babies for human shields and it's horrifying and disgusting.

Expressing humanity is compassion for the people who tried to exit the hospital and were faced with Hamas shooting over their heads.

There has been much humanity shown here for the innocent people in Gaza who are trying to escape the hospital and other Hamas'-held areas :

Despite the peacemaking efforts of Israel, Hamas cannot be negotiated with, ever.

Israel needs to do exactly what it's doing -- or there will be another attack and it'll probably be worse.

We didn't tell Ukraine to step down. Why Israel?

Terrorism:

Terrorism
Type of criminal organization

Terrorism, in its broadest sense, is the use of intentional violence and fear to achieve political or ideological aims. The term is used in this regard primarily to refer to intentional violence during peacetime or in the context of war against non-combatants. Wikipedia

Yes, that proves my point. The names of the region at that time were both "the Land of Israel" or "Palestine", used interchangeably at that time in history.

European Union calls for 'immediate pauses' in hostilities

The European Union is calling for "immediate pauses in hostilities" to establish humanitarian corridors and for Hamas to immediately release all hostages.

In a statement from the E.U.'s high commissioner today, the coalition of states said it is gravely concerned about the humanitarian crisis continuing to unfold in Gaza.

"These hostilities are severely impacting hospitals and taking a horrific toll on civilians and medical staff," the statement said.

It condemned the use of civilians and hospitals as shields, as Hamas has been accused of doing, and urged Israel to “exercise maximum restraint" to protect civilian lives.

There is more than outrage at play and innocent Palestinians, including thousands of children are paying the price. I don't like beating the same drum but if calmer minds don't take control then there is no telling where this crisis will lead. IMOP

Report: Hamas got intel before Oct. 7 from Gazan day laborers working in Israel

In its meticulous planning of the October 7 onslaught, the Hamas terror group gathered some of its intelligence from Gazan day laborers who were allowed to enter Israel every day to work, The Washington Post reports, citing various intelligence officials from multiple countries.

Many of the day laborers worked in the same communities that were targeted and ravaged by Hamas, with entire families shot, burned and mauled to death in their homes.

The report also says evidence gathered from maps and other equipment found on terrorists’ bodies shows that Hamas had intended for at least some of the infiltrators to make it all the way to the West Bank, to start a wider war.

IDF vows to restore security in north, warns Hezbollah, Lebanese leadership will pay

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says Israel will “change the security situation in the north” amid repeated attacks by the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group and allied Palestinian factions.

“The security situation will not remain in a way where residents of the north will not feel safe to return to their homes,” Hagari says.

He says Hezbollah and the Lebanese government will bear responsibility for any attacks from Lebanon.

“Lebanese citizens will pay the price of this lawlessness, and the decision of Hezbollah to be the protector of ISIS,” Hagari says, referring to Hamas as the jihadist organization.

There is eye witness testimony to gang rape followed by murder on October 7 in Israel. It cannot be denied, and should not be ignored, by anyone.

I used the term "Palestine" as a region with:
Israelis, Gazans and West Bankers who live there.

My compassion included ALL people living in this region.

But I was berated :(
Why????
